Crazy right front tire wobble
01silvapathy replied to ugabulldog66's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
There is no such thing as a larger control arm but if the bushing is shot it could cause the control arm to wobble around esp. when a lateral force is being applied. -

Very strange. Watch those lower control arm bushings too -

Wheel bearing would leave you feeling a vertical hop up and down. -
Crazy right front tire wobble

Chances are if one tire is shaking the other is as well. Due to the fact that the tie rod connects to the rack and pinon that connects to the other tie rod so it could in reality be the other side of the truck that is causing the problem -

Death wobble, it is not fun. I had some about a week ago but it was related to my lift. Best bet is to jack your truck up with the wheels and tires on and grab the wheel and shake both side to side up and down and look for moving parts.....like tie rods, ball joints, strut shaft might move back and forth. Could also be tire balance, try switching a different tire to that same place where the issue is now and see if its still occurring. -
Performance...what next?

The cams I know of are mainly for tq, and I have a pop charger which in my opinion is better than the k&n units that tend to eat the maf -

Pretty much clearance issues are why many things such as exhaust headers ect are not available. Pretty much the only performance upgrades that are available are intake/popcharger, custom exhaust, plenum spacer, cams...thats about it that I have heard of. There is one guy that put a supercharger on his vq r50 he kinda dropped off after awhile -

LOL, thats why there are several tt kits and supercharger kits for g's, z's and so on. -
Specs and mounts would be awesome! You also might wanna consider a panhard drop

Figured it out...the sfd lift blocks had come loose and allowed the whole front subframe to move side to side. I retorqued the bolts and im going to have the blocks welded in since im never taking the lift off and the nuts tacked so they cant back off again. The lower control arm bushings also have some play in them along with the wheel bearings which are probably just loose since they looked just fine when I re greased them less than 5 months ago. Here is a video to help explain

It was to tie into my already bedlined rockers, and also to give the illusion....atleast in the rear that the fenders are actually higher than they are cause its really hard to trim the rear without alot of customization.

PCV valve replacement - a horror story

Wish you had done a write up -
Yeah I just had to have some friends reassure me lol

Nope truck ran great with them on for a week, it was an existing problem that just got exaggerated by larger tires. Atleast thats how im viewing it

Guess the plague finally hit my truck too. I had it once or twice before I got the 35's on, then I got the 35's on and it ran and drove great for a week or so but now I cant get above 40mph without getting really violent shaking of the front wheels. I replaced the rack and pinion bushings to no success. The balljoints were replaced about 3 months ago so I highly doubt that could be it. Both my- front struts are leaking which might well be causing the problem. Here is a list to what may be causing the issues -Tie Rods -Tire balance (highly doubt but will check) -Ball joints (again highly doubt) -Blown Struts -Wheel Bearings? -Alignment? -Steering Gear Box -Loose sub frame lift blocks? -Strut Bearings....squeak alot one of them is oem as far as I know with 114k on it I really dont know where to start with this list but until its fixed I pretty much cant go out of my development without worrying about this damn wobble! Any suggestions at all will be very helpful. Im planning on taking the two front tires off and getting them balanced again so I can just start slowly crossing causes off the list. Then I guess start with the cheap stuff first then go to the expensive stuff. I am planning on calling KYB as well and trying to get them warranteed out since they come with a lifetime warranty apparently. In terms of steering when the truck is off, I can grab the steering joint and twist it with my hand and the actual rack and pinon itself moves side to side...maybe brace it somehow? When the truck is on and I grab the steering joint I can turn the tires when its sitting still all tires on the ground. Also the gear box that is in the engine compartment looks to be wet around the bolt heads and top of it. Might be coincidence might not...I really dont know what to think at the moment.

What wheels were they? They fit over the wheels in my pics without issues

Is that a......grand vitara?
-
You are right that the bumper attached to the fender and that mount was cut off. To get around it the bumper has a flat top and the fender a flat bottom...so I drilled a hole through both and zip tied them together so they sit flush. In terms of the actual process, the fender remained on and cuts were made by an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. Pictures of the process will be posted later today.

Heat shields rattling at low rpms

Im always game for tearing stock parts off -
Here is how far out from the fender they stick, keep in mind they are 12.5 wide and have 2in wheel spacers. Maybe look at the pacer flexy flares?
