  1. WIX are good too. Forgot about that one. I pathy has 194500 miles on it, however the engine only has about 10k. Other than the oil that came in the engine, I have used synth. And, the regular oil was only in for 1200 - 1300 miles before I switched. I want to change all the other fluids again soon since we didn't flush, we just drained and filled.
  2. Don't buy Fram. get a Mobil1, Amsoil or K&N filter. I've never heard that Synthetic is bad for stop and go. I drive in a lot of stop and go and have synthetic all around. Transfer case, Front and Rear diffs, trans, engine, etc... I would think that Synthetic could handle the stop and go a lot better than regular oil and the associated heat produced with stop and go. All I'll ever use now is synth. I even use it in my dads 84 diesel Volvo.
  3. I can honestly say that when I put my SS on I didn't notice a difference, but I think that is because I have to much play in the front end due to the lift and I also may need an alignment. However, I wouldn't take it off. It's real cheap to get and I bet once I get my stuff straightened out, it will be awesome.
  4. Has anybody purchased the AC lift for the 90-95 pathfinder? I received it today and I received 2 larger black bolts. The picture shows 4. Should I be worried? I don't know what more than half of that stuff is. Thank god I'm not the one installing it.
  5. 280 Miles to a tank? Man, IF i do ALL highway, I can get maybe 320 - 340. And that's with mods out the a$$. Jim Wolf POP charger, new engine, Headers, high flow cat and new o2 sensors, borla exhaust, electric fan, synthetic oil. These trucks weren't made to get 20+ miles a gallon. Sorry this reply wasn't really helpful. I just got done taking a midterm and I'm beat to SH!T.

They make a POP charger for the 95's. Look under Trucks instead of Pathfinder. I have one. I don't remeber the part number off hand though...
  8. Everything is relatively new. All the belts, clutch, water pump, etc... were put in when I got the new engine at 184440, and I now have 193, 883. I'll check. It's hard to hear where it's coming from while in the car. At first I didn't even think it was my car.
  9. Tonight, as I was on my way home from playing a wedding I noticed a squeel from my pathy. I couldn't figure it out, but the last time it did it, I was downshifting from 4th to 3rd. FYI, I have a manual trans. Any ideas?
  10. I believe the AC 3 icnh body lift comes with a transfer case extension. Does this mean that it takes care of the problem with the shifter being to short? Do, I don't have to get a HB shifter?
  11. I also use Amsoil. I was using M1 but I signed up for the Amsoil preffered customer deal and get 15% - 20% off all purchases. When I get around to it and find space, I'm putting in the Amsoil remote filter kit with the bypass filter. Right now, I have a M1 filter in there. Even though Amsoil says 25k miles, I'm still gonna change it every 5. I also made the switch to Amsoil in my S4. I was also using M1 there. I do use a M1 filter because Amsoil doesn't make one for the S4 yet. I may have said this already in a previous post, but my dad made the switch to Amsoil oil, oil filter and air filter and noticed a huge increase in highway mileage in his explorer. When he went out to Tenn. he was getting like 14 - 15 MPG now he is getting 20 - 21.
  12. I don't know what you are talking about. Mine has plenty of power :-) Now, if I only had my cams installed. And maybe a new ECU! I let my friend drive it. He drifts with his 240. He said it feels like it has 200hp. I really doubt I got that much, but hey it makes me feel good! Now, I can't wait to get my S4 back so I can put my new bilstein PSS9 coilovers in. Oh Man!!!!!
  13. So, I finally got some news about my pathfinder. It seems that the distributor is shot. They reset the timing and drove it around and when they checked the timing again, it was off. So, they are looking to get a replacement. They are also looking into the knock sensor.
  14. I'M not saying to go 25k - 35k a year. They do! I would still change every 5k, or in the case of my S4, every 6 months. I've been using synthetic in my S4 for 6 years and in the pathy since I got her. I even have my dad using synthetic in his 96 lumina and his 84 volvo. He is now going to change oil once a year in both of those since he doesn't drive that many miles and only drives each one for half a year. My S4 has twin turbos, but I have a new chip so I have to change at least every 6 months. Plus I'm getting an oil cooler soon too.
  15. If you are going to stay with a stock panel filter, try the new amsoil Ea filter. It's a synthetic media that is supposed to flow better than paper and gauze while holdling a lot more dirt. They are cheaper than a K&N also. They are good for 100,000 miles or 4 years and only need to be cleaned every year or 25,000 miles. My dad just switched to amsoil oil, Ea oil filter and Ea air filter and he said that his gas mileage went from 16 - 20 on the highway with the AC the whole time. He drives a 99 explorer. Plus, if you wanted to (I wouldn't though),amsoil says you can go 25,000 - 35,000 miles or one year per oil change if you use their oil and filter. Now, as the explorer goes, they do not put that many miles on it a year so they are going to change the oil once a year. I use the same oil and filter in the pathy, but I will be changing every 5k no matter what, plus I bought an amsoil oil filter relocation kit with the bypass filter. Haven't installed it yet, but it's going to be a pain finding room for it.
  16. Thanks for the offer, but money for the part isn't the problem. It could also be the wiring too. You know, I bought two cars so I can have one while the other is in the shop and it always turns out the both are in at the same time! I need a 3rd car!
  17. Drove it home from work today and it was doing to same thing as Saturday. Stalling everywhere, overheating etc... I put some octane booster in it, but I highly doubt that will help. I left a message on the shops voice mail so hopefully I'll hear from them tomorrow. Man, this sucks. I've invested around $15,000 into this truck with $5,000 of that in lost parts. The money I put into it from now on is money on things I WANT to do, not money to FIX it. And to top it off, my S4 is in the shop too getting warranty work done and I won't have it back to maybe next week.
  18. Well, I checked the codes and got a 34 again, however we replaced the fuel filter and put some iso-heat in and the truck will run now but it's a little rougher than it is normally. Would a bad knock sensor cause a misfire or similar symptoms?
  19. So, I was driving today to play a gig with my band and the truck just stalled! Couldn't keep it started. What luck I have. My dad went to take a look and got it home somehow, but I have't spoken to him yet. Let's hope it wasn't anything bad.
  20. Looks like I was running a code 34, which from what I can find is the knock sensor. That was the only code. I cleared and and am now going to see if it shows up again.
  21. As you all know, I have a 95 that got much work done. I have what we think is a misfire. We just replaced the Cap and rotor tonight and it still does it. While trying to find the ECU, I am lost. I thought that my pathy was ODB II, but I think I am wrong now. My dad has a scan tool. Where is the ECU located and how do I get to it?
  22. Do you have a lift? Maybe that is the reason. Also, wouldn't the headers be an issue with fitment?
