  1. Does anybody know where the writeup is for installing the electric fan and where to get the cheap relay? I did some searching, but I'm at work and don't have time to really give it a go. I want to get this installed before I drive to Chicago next week.
  2. I can get around 340 - 350 all high-way, but closer to 280 - 300 if it's city driving.
  3. Well, I don't know about being to old to use synthetic cause we use the Amsoil 5W-30 Heavy Duty diesel oil in my fathers 1984 Volvo and I use synthetic in my 1995 Pathfinder and in his 1996 Lumina.
  4. You can run any filter you want. I happen to use the Mobil1 Filter becuase if I am going to use good oil, why spoil it with a crappy filter?
  5. I can attest to that. I have my Tbars maxed out and keeping it straight on bumpy roads is brutal. The Calmini steering kit is supposed to help with a lot of that though.
  6. I have it. It comes with the filter, bracket and screws. That's it!
  7. Hrm... Mine have never squeaked. Maybe it's because I alo got new spindles when I had mine put on.
  8. I use M1 and a M1 filter. I change every 5k. The recommended change from the manaul for my S4 is 10k miles. I have twin turbos so I change that at 5k also. There is no way that my pathy gets as hot as the S. If I were using conventional oil I would change around the 3k - 3.5k range. The S has amsoil in it now. I may change to Asmoil for the pathy too. Looks like their 5W-30 is better than the M1 5W-30.
  9. I already have the 3 in susp lift. OOPS!
  10. Here is the link to AC's site for the body liners. http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...719be54749e7111 If you are talking about those rubber flaps in the front wheel wells, well yeah I have half of one and the other is missing. I'm gonna replace them soon, but haven't gotten around to it yet due to money issues.
  11. I'm gonna purchase the AC lift soon. Do I need the AC body lift liner or is it a bunch of bullsh!t. Anything else I need to know before I do this? Do you think it will look cheesy staying with stock 31's for the time being? I'm not sure when I can come up with the money for some new rims and tires.
  12. I'm not sure about the filter. I do know that after an engine wears you need to fill the gap. That is why I recommended a thicker oil. If you used say a mobil1 0W-40 that may help fill those gaps. I would try the lucas stuff first. I found another person who uses it today at my body shop.
  13. You can also try a thicker oil. That may help.
  14. Try some Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer. My friend who has a camaro that puts out 1000HP to the wheels swears by it. Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer
  15. 95's that were meant to be sold in Cali had them. That's why it was so hard for me to find that 2nd cat anywhere. I was told I had one, but everybody I spoke to said "No you don't". I had a friend who drifts with his 240 drive my pathy today. He was very impressed with the power. He told me I should get it dyno'ed before I put the cams in so I have a baseline. The sound is a nice rumble. Doesn't sound like a pathy at all, but doesn't sound ricer either. My friend who drives a Mustang GT said today "Wow. That is much louder." :cool2: And my boss, who drove me to get it yesterday said "You were two cars up and all I could here is your truck."
  16. So, I got it back today. Got the new federal pipe installed and the high flow cat. Holy SH!T does it make a difference. I also got the coolant temp sensor and O2 sensor replaced. Truck sounds different, feels different. I don't get that feeling while pushing the RPM's up that the pedal is pushing back at me. They told me that the CAT was clogged and since that one was clogged that the precat was most likely clogged but they couldn't look inside of it. I just got word that my 4crawler rock sliderz will be here Monday. Now, I have to get that installed. I'm still waiting for my calmini steering kit and I'm gonna contact Jim Wolf and see if they will look at the cams to see if they can still be used.
  17. Can't say I notice a difference. But I like the peace of mind that synthetic offers.
  18. I used Amsoil Long Life lube in the front and rear diffs and didn't add any additive. So far, I have no chatter. Amsoil Long Life for Diffs For the transfer case I used the Amsoil Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid. Amsoil Synthetic ATF for Transfer case I didn't use Amsoil for the trans. I used Redline GL-4 Only. Here is the Amsoil Trans lube. Amsoil Synthetic Manual Trans Oil And the Redline MT-90 I don't remember the capacities for the diffs or transfer case but I do remember the trans take like 5 - 5.5 quarts. Also, amsoils site gives approx. vales for the capacities. Redline MT-90 GL-4 Transmission Oil
  19. Well, Nissan wanted $780 for the part. We ended up getting it from Bosal for like $70. It turns out that I am probably not sending my headers back. We had a few different people take a loot at them. Both rebuild Porsche engines and have their headers customized. They said that unless the coating is peeling off, then I should be ok. As a note: The also said that Thorley headers are cheap and not designed correctly. They flanges are too small and it should be made of stainless steel not mild steel. One guy even got mad because of the quality. However, these guys are used to paying thousands for custom headers. We agreed that for $440 it wasn't a bad price but performance gains are only going to be slight.
  20. Well, my truck is back in the shop so I can have the headers taken off and sent to Thorley. At the same time, I have them looking into an exhaust leak and a ne whigh-flow cat. The shop owner looked underneath and found a small pre-cat. He called some company that is supposedly the top cat maker in the US and they have a high flow cat for the truck. When he mentioned that there was a pre-cat they said that they know nothing about it. After doing some research he realized that my truck was made to pass emmisions in cali. Once he told this to them they said "Ahh... Yes." The late 95's had the pre-cat to pass cali emmisions. The also told him that the headers are not making a difference since the precat is so restrictive that it has enormous backpressure. They also said that the new high flow cat is more efficient than the old cat and pre cat. So, the guy is looking into getting a federal??? pipe to replace the pre-cat and the new cat is on it's way. The cat is about $285. The engineer said that once the pre-cat is gone, the truck would be completely different with the amount of power it has. So, he is on the phone with nissan now to see if they can get tha pipe. Unfortunately, I have to send the headers out and wait for them to come back before we can test.
  21. Then, maybe a chip is next? Or some high flow cats and exhaust if you don't have them already. I wanna do the chip, but it will be the LAST thing I do. I just dropped my beast off to get the headers take out and sent back, new high-flow cats and new 02 sensors. I just got the frame rust and rear sets fixed.
  22. These are the mild cams. The extreme cams are the S2. I have them but not installed. From what I understand, your idle should be ok. I'll take 12 - 14 horse anyday over the stock 153 I have now (not including the headers and air intake).
