Did that already. Nothing. Also checked the plugs. No problems there either.
-
I'll have another shop look at it. I may just get a new MAF, but I need to make sure that is the problem.
-
I'm gonna have to have someone else look at it. I don't want to take it back to this shop. They took 2 months to installed my steering kit, my oil filter relocation kit and troubleshoot this problem. I have the old air box on now and it still misfires like hell when it's cold but the misfires are probably 75% less when warmed up. A new MAF is about 300, so I have to be positive that's the problem. I think they checked all the lines, but who knows. I'm loosing faith in all these shops. On a happier note, I'll have pics posted soon of my filter relo kit. It's pretty clever. They relocated the fuse box, ran the hoses away from the headers and covered in some high temp plastic crap. The filters are massive. You'll see! I think I am up to around 6 quarts of oil now.

I have it installed. I guess it's ok. My bushings squeak so loud I can hear it while on the highway doing 70 and over my exhaust which is really freakin loud! I just got my L&P steering installed and I have to say I'm not sure if I am aligned correctly or not. It seems that I can't stay straight in the lane if I'm going straight, but turning is ok. Also, when most cars spring the wheel back to the center after turning, mine just turns more which means I have to be extremely carefull. I might take off my SS and see if it gets any better.

There is a fuse for the fogs on the passenger side under the hood behind the battery. I had the same problem. Put new bulbs in and everything. The Tach could be the cluster. I know on the volvo I have, the tach doesn't move sometimes and it causes a squeel (like a belt squeel) but does move as the engine gets to about 2500 rpm's. Maybe the same thing? Cable??? I have problems with my cruise also. Sometimes the button on the steering wheel works and sometimes it doesn't Also, sometimes the cruise light in the cluster will start blinking if I try to engage it, so I shut cruise off, turn it back on and them I'm ok. The trans I can't help you with. Maybe it needs a flush. But probably a more serious problem.

It's a new engine. Only been in for almost a year. So no, I've never done a compression test. It's weird. It's a misfire, but it's not. It does not affect power or mileage, but it's noticable. Strange. I wish I could explain it better.

I've only had the filter on for 10k miles. So, I've never cleaned and oiled it. Does anybody know of an aftermarket MAF for a 95? Maybe something along the lines of higher performance? I wasn't able to find one other than stock.

Umm, not being a mechanic I have no idea. I just know that I have this problem, what he did solved it now we need a permanent solution. I wish I knew what to do, but I don't.
-
Me either, but for some reason it's not getting enough fuel for the amount of air being provided. I have not recently oiled or cleaned my filter so I can't say excessive oil is the cause.
-
So, my mechanic thinks he has found a possible problem with the misfire I have. They looked at my MAF and it was clogged completely. So, they cleaned it and my truck ran better but only for a short period of time. Then they blew some propane into the Air filter and the truck ran better with the added fuel. The next step was putting some clean rags over the air filter to cut down on the amount of air and it ran fine again. It's running lean. We are going to put my stock box back in and see how it runs. My questions: Has anybody had a similar problem or heard of something like this? I would hate to have to take the pop charger off and have less power.

Condoms!

NICE!

I'm not bashing you. Please don't take it that way. If the return address is on my page, then it's my fault for not seeing it. I take full responsibility for that. I can be an idiot sometimes! As for the email though, I didn't get it. It's not in my spam filter though, I checked. This wasn't meant to make you look like "The Bad Guy". Just wanted to see if someone knew how to get a hold of you. I have no interest in bashing anyone, nor causing any hard feelings. As for returning the parts, I should have them in the mail on Tuesday. Sorry for any confusion and bad feelings! It was not my intention.
-
Well, if I can't get a hold of him then I can't sent these parts back and I don't get my core charge back, which will make me on pissed off person.
-
Does anybody know how I can get in contact with Phil? I sent him an email to LPsteering and his AOL address but have yet to hear from him. I need to send my old parts back and I need an address to send them too. Need to get that core charge back.

Oh man, I can't wait. I'll take pics of the oil filter kit when I get it back. Next, is the body lift. But I'll wait till after the winter now, I guess. Both my vehicles are in the shop, so I'm stuck driving around an 84 240 diesel Volvo. Man, that car is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. But it gets good gas mileage. I called Calmini to see of their tie rods would work with a stock steering system and they said no :-( I was hoping that they would. Oh well, can't have everything.
-
So, I saw my truck yesterday. The steering kit is on. They said that they had the hardest time getting the bolt off for the pitman arm and then they couldn't get the pitman arm istelf off. They had to borrow an impack wrench from a trucking company. So, now it is all installed and aligned. Now, I am waiting for the relocation/bypass filter kit to be installed and for them to find the source of the misfire. Getting there!

The auto takes atf. The transfer case takes atf. For 90 - 95. He has an 88 hence the name. I just did this last year. Well, I didn't do the auto since I have a manual, but you get what I mean.
-
If you have a 94 like your profile says, you should use 80w-90 I believe. I used amsoil 75w-90 since that was what was available and it's some pretty damn good stuff.
-
I got Mt90 and it works fine. The only problems with shifting are that I suck at driving a stick!

Installed dual filter relocation kit tonight
wheel366 replied to Filthy Luker's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I use the Amsoil dual remote. It's a filter relocation kit witha bypass filter too. When I get it back, I'll post a pic or two. If you think those ford filters are huge, wait till you see these! -
Why not send them out to get the Jet Hot coating? I hear it's better than ceramic.
-
My manual states 5W-30 and that's what I use. Plus, 5W-30 is considered an energy conserving oil, so you are "supposed" to get better gas mileage. I don' tknow of a 40 weight that is considered energy conserving.
-
I have the Amsoil BMK-13. It is a bypass filter and relocation kit at the same time.
-
The manual trans had the filler hole too low. To get around this, you can either tip the truck or fill through the shifter. You want a GL4 transmission oil. Make sure it is NOT a GL5. I used Redline MT-90. As for the transfer case, you can use ATF. I used Amsoil ATF in mine.
