  1. At least I would like my old parts back. I may need them if the L&P kit is the root of my steering problems.
  2. Yeah, I haven't gotten my core refund since November of last year! Next time I'm in IL, I'll have to pay him a visit. My steering is so messed up with this kit. I am going to take it to the place that did my coilover install on my S and see if they can do anything for me. I've been meaning to take it there, just been busy with work traveling and broke too because of school.
  3. Check out my cardomain link in my sig for pics.
  4. Well sometimes the engineers are wrong. As strange as that sounds. My father has a 1984 Volvo 240 series Diesel that states in the book that you should use 15W-40 conventional oil. I read a big article on that car with the diesel engine that said the engines did not last long if you used what Volvo recommended but lasts hundreds of thousands of miles if you used a 5W-30 synthetic oil, which is what my dad uses. Actually he uses the 5W-30 diesel formula from Amsoil. On Amsoil's website and on mobil's website, they also recommend a 5W-30 and not a 15W-40. I'm not saying that engineers don't know what they are talking about but in this case, it was clear that they were wrong by specifying 15W-40 for that car. My dad has around 140k on the Volvo and the engine runs fine. The suspension on the other hand.... Now, in my case I use 5W-30 since the book does say to use it. I may try the 5W-20 but I am more interesting in trying motorsilk first. http://209.200.118.63/index.cfm
  5. Actually, I was told buy this mechanic in my area who is supposed to be one of the top in the country that I should use 5W-20. I haven't used it but he said it is a better oil.
  6. Oh, I used to use Mobil 1 but when I looked at the specs, Amsoil looked better for the viscosities I was using. Plus I pay about the same per quart, except I pay for shipping with Amsoil. Also, the Mobil 1 filters are a synthetic blend where as Amsoil filters are 100% synthetic.
  7. I think there have been enough independent tests to prove that synthetic is superior, but that I my opinion. I personally use Amsoil in all the cars in my driveway except I use Redline MT-90 in my pathy trans. I have a 2001 Audi S4, 1995 Pathy, 1999 Explorer, 1996 Lumina and a 1984 Diesel Volvo. The only vehicle that requries synthetic is m S4. Let me tell you, once we switched to the Amsoil 5W-30 synthetic diesel formula, the Volvo ran so much smoother. The Explorer was changed to Amsoil Oil (5W-30 ASL I think, the 25k stuff not the 7,500 stuff), Amsoil EaA Air Filter and Amsoil EaO Oil filter, my father gained 4 almost 5 miles a gallon on the highway. The lumina, well just sucks in general but uses 5W-30 also I think. The S uses 5W-40 European. All other fluids are stock in the S. The Pathy uses the same formula as the Ford, I have Amsoil ATF in the transfer case and all Diffs. As I stated above, I use Redline in the trans. After looking at the specs, it was obvious that Redline was superior as far as a GL4 lube goes. Oh, all vehicles also run Amsoil oil filters except the Lumina because it sucks :-) I'm still waiting for the Amsoil Air filter for my S. They are supposed to be far superior to the K&N and stock filters. Traps more dirt and flows more air. Can't beat that!
  8. Look, I'm not heartless. It could very well be true. Who am I to say that it didn't happen to him. However, I have seen time and time again when people apologize for something when they really don't mean it. I just want my money back. I purchased something in good faith and returned my parts in good faith also only to be screwed.
  9. I love the "I will reply to ALL of you". Well, obviously I am not part of the ALL category. I think I have been patient and calm. That $190 could put a few tanks of gas in my truck and would help out tremendously and maybe restore some faith that I have lost in the human race. BTW, my first email was sent on 3/28/07 and I have sent one almost everyday since. No such reply. So much for rebuilding L&P and really believing that you did something wrong. A lot of people will say that so others will feel bad for them but as for them believing it themselves they almost never do.
  10. I have been emailing him almost everyday at three different email addresses. Still Haven't gotten my $190 core charge back. it's been almost a year. I'm about to call him. I have his number here somewhere.
  11. I have them with around 30k miles on them and I have a hell of a lot more tread left than you. However, I have not taken them off road. I like the tires but I thought that they would have been better in the snow. I'm gonna try the BF Goodrich next.
  12. Just broke 200,000 last week but only 16k on the engine.
  13. All new within the past 15k miles. However, the cap and rotor are around 10k old. I was thinking aboutr replacing the plugs and wires anyways but the other truck did the same thing. I feel like I am chasing a ghost.
  14. So, today I went to see a new mechanic about my missfire. It turns out that he had another pathy at the shop. After running some quick tests on my truck, we went over to the other one. It turns out that the other pathy missfires around 1500 rpm just like mine does but mine is more pronounced because of the headers, high flow cat and exhaust. Can some of you that have 95ish pathys confirm that yours do the same thing? Mine exhaust is really loud so I hear it more. It may be quieter on a pathy without the same upgrades as me. Thanks! Rich
  15. Also, a high flow CAT is a good option. Gave me much more power but that may be because I have a pre CAT and main CAT and both were clogged. We took out the pre CAT and put in a federal pipe. Wish I could use my cams Once my warranty for the new engine is up, I will do the Cam thing again most likely with an ECU upgrade.
  16. I was about to ask if anybody heard from him since his last post. I sent hima PM 2 days ago and am still waiting for a response and my core back since November.
  17. I wonder which one I have. The other day, I was on Rt 80 traveling around 70mph. It was about 90 - 95 and I had the AC on. I was in the middle of the guage with it going a little above. When I turned the AC off it went down but I have never ever had it go so high. Wonder what I can do besides getting the taurus fan. How do I know if I have the smaller one?
  18. I guess I'll stop sending you emails in the hopes that I see some money back. Sorry things have been so bad. Since the core charges have been due since November, I would hope that I see something soon. What is a reasonable amount of time? I'm an easy going guy. I just don't like to be screwed. Again, sorry for your troubles. Rich
  19. I heard of a pathy in VA selling for something like $3500. Supposed to me in great condition with like 110k miles on it. Ihaven't seen it but my friend has. It is his friends car and he told me all the maintenance was done on it and oil changed every 3k, etc... I want to get it but I'm saving for a house. If anybody is in the VA area, let me know and I'll get you some contact info. Gavols, I feel your pain. I had huge holes in my truck. I should take some pics of the welds.
  20. I forgot the oil analysis part. Here is a link for that. It's like $20. http://www.oaitesting.com/index2.htm
  21. You don't need to do this but I did it on my S4. I bought a new cheap filter, put this stuff in ran it like the directions said. Then drained and replaced the filter with the amsoil filter. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/aef.aspx
  22. If you are worried, try it once then get an oil analysis done and see if the oil is still good or needs to be changed. It's only good for those amount of miles if the engine is in proper working order.
  23. Oil Filter: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/detail.aspx?ID=6904 (EAO13) As for Oil, the recommended Amsoil viscosity for your car is 5W-30. You can use either: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asl.aspx (I use this one) or http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/xlf.aspx Even though the ASL says it can go up to 25k miles, I still change at 5k along with the filter. When in doubt, go here. http://www.amsoil.com/scripts/runisa.dll?amsoiloaf:index
  24. I replaced mine with a high flow cat but it was around $350. I forget who makes it. It came from a company in CA. I had two cats. I replaced the precat with a straight pipe.
  25. 88, what do you use to grease your idler arm?
