  1. I'M not saying to go 25k - 35k a year. They do! I would still change every 5k, or in the case of my S4, every 6 months. I've been using synthetic in my S4 for 6 years and in the pathy since I got her. I even have my dad using synthetic in his 96 lumina and his 84 volvo. He is now going to change oil once a year in both of those since he doesn't drive that many miles and only drives each one for half a year. My S4 has twin turbos, but I have a new chip so I have to change at least every 6 months. Plus I'm getting an oil cooler soon too.
  2. If you are going to stay with a stock panel filter, try the new amsoil Ea filter. It's a synthetic media that is supposed to flow better than paper and gauze while holdling a lot more dirt. They are cheaper than a K&N also. They are good for 100,000 miles or 4 years and only need to be cleaned every year or 25,000 miles. My dad just switched to amsoil oil, Ea oil filter and Ea air filter and he said that his gas mileage went from 16 - 20 on the highway with the AC the whole time. He drives a 99 explorer. Plus, if you wanted to (I wouldn't though),amsoil says you can go 25,000 - 35,000 miles or one year per oil change if you use their oil and filter. Now, as the explorer goes, they do not put that many miles on it a year so they are going to change the oil once a year. I use the same oil and filter in the pathy, but I will be changing every 5k no matter what, plus I bought an amsoil oil filter relocation kit with the bypass filter. Haven't installed it yet, but it's going to be a pain finding room for it.
  3. I'm a Net Admin for a behavioral health company, I work for CompUSA part time and I am a part time musician.
  4. I have 3 jobs but they don't pay for these. I need to find a 2nd job that pays better!
  5. I have a 01 Silver S4. My baby. I have so much I want to do with it, but Audi's cost so damn much.
  6. If you guys don't know what waterfest is, it's an Audi and VW show in Englishtown, NJ. This was my first time going and it was freakin HOT! Some really nice cars, including a Carrera GT. I love that car! I just bought a new RS4 grill, a boost guage and the bilstein PSS9 coilovers. And within the last week I bought a spare ECU, got all the programs loaded (race gas, pump gas performace, stock, valet, kill) new diverter valves and a new exhaust. I've spent like 4550 in total. Am I nutz? I haven't even gotten the pathy fixed yet. That's not my fauly though. They were backlogged and didn't look to see what is wrong yet. Was anybody else there today?
  7. How did I miss this???? Happy Belated Birthday!
  8. Thanks for the offer, but money for the part isn't the problem. It could also be the wiring too. You know, I bought two cars so I can have one while the other is in the shop and it always turns out the both are in at the same time! I need a 3rd car!
  9. Drove it home from work today and it was doing to same thing as Saturday. Stalling everywhere, overheating etc... I put some octane booster in it, but I highly doubt that will help. I left a message on the shops voice mail so hopefully I'll hear from them tomorrow. Man, this sucks. I've invested around $15,000 into this truck with $5,000 of that in lost parts. The money I put into it from now on is money on things I WANT to do, not money to FIX it. And to top it off, my S4 is in the shop too getting warranty work done and I won't have it back to maybe next week.
  10. Well, I checked the codes and got a 34 again, however we replaced the fuel filter and put some iso-heat in and the truck will run now but it's a little rougher than it is normally. Would a bad knock sensor cause a misfire or similar symptoms?
  11. So, I was driving today to play a gig with my band and the truck just stalled! Couldn't keep it started. What luck I have. My dad went to take a look and got it home somehow, but I have't spoken to him yet. Let's hope it wasn't anything bad.
  12. Looks like I was running a code 34, which from what I can find is the knock sensor. That was the only code. I cleared and and am now going to see if it shows up again.
  13. As you all know, I have a 95 that got much work done. I have what we think is a misfire. We just replaced the Cap and rotor tonight and it still does it. While trying to find the ECU, I am lost. I thought that my pathy was ODB II, but I think I am wrong now. My dad has a scan tool. Where is the ECU located and how do I get to it?
  14. Do you have a lift? Maybe that is the reason. Also, wouldn't the headers be an issue with fitment?

    Beer

I once drank a 40 of Steel Reserve. Man, it whooped my a$$. Blue Moon and Corona here, but sometimes Becks Dark!
  16. I'm not having overheating problems, I just NEED better gas mileage. I got the fan today. It was a flex-a-lite 114. I returned it and had them order the 116. I also got the AC relay and a thermostat control. As for the relocation kit, they are going to also relocate the fuel filter so I can fir the oil filters better. Man, a lot of work to do in 2 days.
  17. I checked yesterday, but it was after I drove it and it was hot as hell, not to mention that the damn ground was really hot also. I cound't find anything loose, but I'm thinking it's the torion bars moving. I have it back at the shop today. They are installing the bypass filter and relocation kit plus electric fan. I was thinking about having the put a new cap and rotor in cause it sounds like I have a misfire. That can wait till I get back.
  18. So, ever since I got the rock sliderz installed, I have this clunking noise underneath the truck. You can hear it from the outside and inside. You can also feel it while you are inside. Of course, the one time that I bring it in it doesn't clunk. Any ideas what it could be? The engine mounts look ok, but maybe the trans is moving, or maybe something is hitting the torsion bars? On a different note, I got my relocation kit with a bypass filter too. It's freakin huge. I'm hoping that I can mount it. Much bigger than I thought. The BP filter is 6 inches long and ridiculously fat and the full flow filter is 7 inches long, but not quite as thick.
  19. Well, that sucks! I can always get another fan. At least I'll be doing 99% all highway so I'll have the breeze to help. I could be wrong on cfm, but it could be 1500.
  20. The guy at the shop seemed to think this would be fine. If it isn't, I can always keep the electronics and get another fan. That's not a problem. How much cfm does the stock fan put out?
  21. So, I called mothers and they have a whole kit that I bought. It pulls 1200cfm I think he said and it was around 14 1/2 inches. I also bought the amsoil bypass and oil filter relocation kit today. This is the one I bought. http://www.amsoil.com/bypassfilters/instructions/bmk13.aspx I got a 6 inch bypass filter and a 7 inch full-flow filter to go with it. Hopefully it will work out well.
