  1. This shop did not want to guarantee that there was no other damage due to no oil pressure for the other parts.

    lift in

yeah man, Congrats. Lets see some pics
  3. Well, after ripping the whole engine apart it's been decided that I need a new one. They tore it down the to crank and one of the journals is worn and the main bearings are destroyed. So, next week they are ordering a factory rebuilt long block with a 3 year warranty. Looks like I have a lot of parts on hand. Re-conditioned rods, rings, two new heads, etc... As for my cams, they are going to ask the engine manufacturer if the cams will void the warranty. If not, they are going to get it in writing. I was advised to break it in for a couple thousand miles then put the cams in. New engine is $2500, plus $1500 for the labor to put it in and to diagnose what the problem was with the current engine and $500 miscellaneous parts. Thank god I have been saving. I have to use part of the money I was saving to pay off my Audi with. Oh well. They told me that it should only take a week, but no longer than two to make sure everything is working. They are starting it right after New Years. I guess I will have to wait a while now before I get the Calmini steering upgrade, body lift, new cats and ECU.
  4. You will need to add more oil to your engine with a bigger filter. Not too much more though.
  5. I have all synthetic fluids in my pathy. Amsoil in the front and rear diff and the transfer case, redline in the trans and mobil 1 in the engine. I think I even bought synthetic fluid for my brakes and clutch, but I can't remember.
  6. Order the redline online. I paid around $10 a quart for it, but I had a local shop order it. I don't know anything about Royal Purple.
  7. Red Line!!! Redline MT-90 Here is the link to Mr. Jim's site pertaining to the manual trans fluid change. Mr. Jim's transmission fluid change
  8. My S4 takes 6.5. I'm not sure how much the pathy is going to take after the relocation kit is installed. I was thinking another quart for the oil filter and maybe 1/2 to 1 quart for the hoses. Maybe 5.5 - 6. Because the S4 turbos are oil cooled, it has a higher capacity than the pathy.
  9. If I am correct, the 5k and 7500 mile oil is dino, but I could be wrong. The 15k is full synth. I still prefer the regular mobil 1 for the pathy and change it every 5k. I should really realize the benefits now since the heads, cams, rods, rings, etc... are all new. Hopefully I will see a lot less wear. In my S4, I just started using Amsoil which is good for 25k - 35k miles, however I will still change it every 5. I switched because from what I have seen, the Amsoil pumps at lower temps, can withstand high temps (I have twin tubos which are oil cooled) and has less wear than Mobil 1. I most likely will not dish out the additional money to switch from Mobil1 to Amsoil for the pathy. Swallowing $8.75 a quart x 6.5 quarts is a little much. At least 5k miles takes a long time to come around now since I don't drive all that much. I changed my oil the first weeked of this month and I haven't hit 1000 miles yet. I also use a Mobil 1 Filter. I haven't seen anything bad about them. I would like to try a K&N, but they aren't availble for my S4. I can get one for the Pathy though.
  10. Well, here is a link I had at home for a new set of injectors. Not a bad price. $302 for all 6. Five O Motorsports
  11. Do you want to fix the problem or path the test? I can't really offer anything to fix it, but if you try putting lots of gas line anti-freeze (ethanol and isopropyl) with a tank that is almost empty you should pass. This comes from my friend who is a chemist. However, once you pass you need to fill up immediately since the anti-freeze is a solvant and is hard on the seals. If I were you, I would try this just to pass then get it fixed.
  12. Mmm... Nitrous. I would love to Nitrous in my S4...
  13. Dude, I went from an 85 Chevy Spectrum to an 94 Oldsmobile to a 2001 S4 and a 1995 Pathy. That damn spectrum would slow down going up a hill while floored!
  14. Cams, headers )if you can find them for a 96), intake, exhaust, chip, high flow cats, turbo, supercharger, etc... That's about all I can think of, however the turbo and supercharger are not the most cost effective way to go.
  15. I put up some pics on my car domain page that I took today. I know everybody said that there was less room for the oil filter after the headers are installed, but it looks like there is more room now. I also have some pics of the front and rear lift. Whatcha think?
  16. Well, it's now officially on it's way to the new shop. The tow truck just picked it up! YAY!
  17. It's officially in my drive way as of 4:45 today. Monday, on the way to the shop.
  18. I'm gonna go over there and TRY to get it tomorrow. I will probably call the police to come just in case he tries to start anything or says that I tried something. I don't have time in my life fot that poopoo. Hopefully, I will be able to have it towed to the new shop on Monday. Once all this engine work is all squared away, I can start some more projects, like new CATS, body lift, bigger tires, new stereo, ECU, etc... most likely in that order too. YAY! Also, once I get it back I'll be able to smoke cigars again while driving. I don't smoke in the Audi. My S4 is over 5 years old and still smells new!
  19. Well today was the day. We went to court today. First we went to arbitration, which we argued the whole time. I was offering $200 and he wanted no less than $400. So, we sat around for our hearing. To make a long story short. Both cases were dismissed. His claim and my counter claim, however the judge tore him a new assh0le. He said that it is completely unreasonable to keep someones car for 11 months, etc... The judge has awarded me my car back without having to pay a cent and he also told the guy that if there is any damage what so ever, he personally will prosecute him to the fullest extend of the law. He has 1 week to get the car back to me. Now, it's off to another shop! I was gonna try and get it today, but by the time I got home, flushed the engine in my S4 and changed the oil, it was time for me to leave. So, somehow I have to try and get it either tomorrow or Saturday.
  20. I think I am going to try it on either my Lumina or Volvo. Both have way over 100k miles on it. Not willing to try it on my S4 or Pathy yet...
  21. Did you guys ever hear of Motor Silk? It's supposed to be some damn good stuff. Motor Silk
  22. 420 miles? I was never able to get more than 320. :o
  23. Just get a chip! Easiest thing to do.
