  1. 420 miles? I was never able to get more than 320. :o
  2. Just get a chip! Easiest thing to do.
  3. Oh, and don't run fuel injector cleaner ever other tank. If you get to much of that stuff, it crystalizes and forms deposits. At least, that's what my cousin who is a chemist told me. If you want, try some of the new lucas injector cleaner. It is petroleum based instead of solvant based. Worked wonders in my Audi for gas mileage. Also, Marvel Mystery Oil gained me 30+ miles a tank in my pathy. You can use it in your gas and oil. If there is any type of carbon buildup in the engine, this stuff will disolve it. You replace on quart of oil with MMO. My boss has a subaru with sticking lifters. He put this stuff in and it fixed it.
  4. Well, if you go headers they will cost about $350 for non-ceramic coated and $440 for ceramic coated. That's the cheapest way to go. Cams are a little more money and are a little more involved. I have yet to see what the actual HP gains are for headers, but my guess is around 10. Cams will give you between 12 and 25 HP depending on what you get and who you believe. You can also get a chip which costs around $595 and that will give you more HP and torque too. The chip is by far the easiest to replace. The other options above are more labor intensive. High flow cats are good too, but I have yet to see any HP numbers associated with them. However, since I have a new exhaust, headers and the POP charger, the last bottleneck to remove is the cats. If I ever get my truck back, I can get more of an idea of what the performance mods have really done for me. For now, they are just numbers on paper.
  5. I got a 100Mb connection to the internet at work and this site was slow. The server was probably getting hammered because of other sites it's hosting or maybe a router went down. One never knows...
  6. I see similar rims for the Audi all the time. Obviously different sizes, but the designs are the same
  7. Replace all lifters - $30 each X 12 New Cams - $560 Timing belt - $35 Water Pump - Can't remember Much more than $500!!!!! Trust me, I know. I bought all of those things plus new heads, rocker arms, hoses and headers, etc... on top of that!
  8. B, you crack me up. Yes he is under the table and illegal. He was demanding cash the last time. I'm not letting him know about the IRS yet. I'm saving that for the end. My counter claim is going to include insurance for the past 10 months, plus previous insurance which is another 9 months, plus court costs, lawyer fees, flat tire on my Audi (I had to drive it since I didn't have my truck), busted front bumper on my Audi (again, I had to drive it in snow since I didn't have my truck). I am also presenting receipts of my purchasing parts to prove the time frame and going to bring a copy of the answering machine messages that he left me and the letter from the zoning department on his running of an illegal business. On top of that, I am going to provide pictures of cars with license plates that we has/is working on, and in the pictures I made sure my car can be seen so there is no question as to where I took these pictures! He is suing me for $900 plus 21 court filing cost. Let me give you a little info incase I neglected previously. He wanted $1150 for the whole job. Since the engine is running as bad or worse than when I brought it to him, I told him that I will not pay for any of the engine work since I now has to take it somewhere else. He agreed, reluctantly, but said that I owe him for the other work plus past labor. The other work included replacing 1 rear axle seal and changing ALL the fluids. I paid for the fluids, he just changed them. Now, the past work is supposedly from last year which I didn't know I owed him anything for nor did he say I owed him anything. So, I can't see how a job that was $1150 including engine work is now $900 exluding engine work when engine work was 90% of the job. Make sense? He is trying to get the most money for the least effort. Not on my watch nor in my wallet. I am going to go to the local STS and ask them how much replacing a rear axle seal costs and how much changing the fluids costs. Then subtract the overhead of owning a business since he has NO overhead. If he is allowed to bring up PAST LABOR, then I am going to bring up PAST INSURANCE and the fact that he put 1000 miles on my truck. My counter claim is probably going to be in the 5000 range once you add up insurance, lawyer bills, etc... I want to see him sweat. Plus if we go the Consumer fraud act route, then I am entitled up to 3X's the damages.
  9. Oh Oh... Latest drama! My father went down to see the zoning officer yesterday. David Green (the mechanic) went to see her and begged and pleaded for more time so he could finish everything. She gave him another 2 weeks. He said that he would get all cars back to their owners except mine since it was involved in a lawsuit. She told him that he has to prove that it was involved. We told her that we knew of no lawsuit and that he is still taking in new cars. She didn't say anything about that. So today, I get a letter in the mail. He is taking me to court for not paying him. This is going to be good. Why should I pay him if he still has my truck and won't give me a bill? I called him, asked him for a bill in September. He told me that it would be done in a few days. When I called back asking for the bill, he wouldn't return my calls. My lawyer is going to have a field day.
  10. You can order the Calmini shocks for $36.95 each. Calmini 3" Suspension Lift - Shocks
  11. I don't know about the ECU, but if you look at the specs of the cams on AC and Jim Wolf, they are different.
  12. Since I don't have my truck, I can't vouch for anything. If and when I get it back, I'll post some info. However, you should know that I did more than just cams. I did ceramic coated headers, the Jim Wolf Pop-Charger, new heads, new rods and rod bearings and new rings, plus the whole intake was cleaned out. It was previously filled with oil and carbon. Also had a new PCV and ERG valve installed all the hoses, etc... When he started it, he said it sounded really nice, but I wasn't there for it. Nissan Performance Mag did a review on the Nissan Motorsports cams which were just a little bit bigger than I got and they said that it did improve mileage. Here is the link to their project pathfinder. Nissan Performance Magazine - Project Pathfinder Here is the link directly to the article. Header and Cam Install
  13. You only need to get shocks that are 3 inches longer since the body lift is exactly what it says it is, A body lift. Most people go with Rancho 5000. if you do a search, you will find part #'s. If you are doing a full 3 inch susp lift, then yes you will need longer shocks for the front too.
  14. You can get cams from Jim Wolf. Jim Wolf I have them for my truck, but I haven't been able to test them yet. And yes, you should change your lifters unless they only have a few thousand miles on them.
  15. I got the ceramic coated headers. You can also get them coated with something called Jet Hot I think. Thorley will void the warranty if you use any type of wrap or tape on the headers.
  16. So, that's what the inside of a pathy looks like. It's only been 10 months since I've seen mine so I forgot what it looks like.
  17. If you know the dimensions, you can get one of Bilsteins off-road shocks. If I remember correctly, I spoke with a guy from http://www.allshocks.com/ and he gave me info. I don't know about the 2002 pathys, but on the 95's you would have to convert the top of the front shocks to use 1/2" eye mounts. Here is the email and his contact info: To use the 5100, 5150, or 6100 series shocks, you would have to convert the vehicle to use 1/2" eye mounts both top and bottom, front and rear. From there, I will need to know the distance between the shock mounts in order to determine the correct length for your application. If the vehicle is used mostly on paved roads with some occasional off roading, then the 6100 series are probably overkill, and the 5100s and 5150s will provide a better ride on pvement while still being able to deal with light duty off roading. If you like the look of the 5150's, they are a very good shock, and they do have a functional advantage over the 5100s. 18. Try some Lucas Injector Cleaner. Worked wonders for my Audi.
  19. None of my friends are willing to go on his property. I tried that route already. He has till the end of the week to return all non-functioning vehicle's to their owners. Here is the letter that he was sent from the zoning officer:
  20. Last weekend, my brother-in-law, who is a cop, sent one of his cop friends from my town over there. He spoke to him, but the guy just blew him off. Tuesday, my mother went down and spoke to the zoning department and she sent him a letter stating that he has 10 days to get all vehicle's off his property and back to their owners. I'll put the letter up sometime soon. After he fot the letter, he still had people come over and drop cars off for him to work on and I haven't gotten a call from him.
  21. You said that you checked the upper and lower control arms. Did you check the bushings? I had the noise when turning and hitting bumps and went away when I replaced the bushings.
  22. tHAT'S SOME NICE SH!... Stuff. To bad I don't have a truck to put them on! Well done!
  23. I haven't heard any of them. Since I haven't had my truck, there was no need to order them. I just looked at crutchfield and they no longer list them. You might be better off calling them to see if they still have them. www.soundcity.com has the JBL and Apline, but their site is messed up so you can't actually look at them. Also, the JBL's are like $400. They were $200 on crutchfields site. Actaully, all 3 brands were $200. I liked the fact that they were component speakers and came with crossovers.
