  1. I called summit today to change credit cards and they told me that the headers should ship in 2 weeks. I bet it's more like 2 months, but thats ok. I just ordered the full calmini lift kit with the shocks. They told me that they are just finishing up the manual and should ship by monday. Also, in case you guys wanted the coils, the gentleman told me that they are ready to ship and the website is wrong. I figured until I have another $400 for the bilstein shocks, I'll use the provided shocks to hold me over. Still need the steering stablizer! SOON, VERY SOON. On a different note, my gas mileage has been getting better. Tonight, I got around 315 to the tank and the needle just went into the white. I have never broken 300, but knew I could make it right to 300 but didn't want to run out of gas. Tomorrow, I'll fill her up.
  2. Check out their website and see what they have. www.thorleyheaders.com I know that mine are for 90 - 95
  3. Well, thanks for the advice. I had no idea. I'm still patiently waiting for my headers, so I'm sure it won't be until next year at the earliest.
  4. So, the Jim Wolf chips are good? I would probably just buy it instead of sending mine to them. Looks like it's around $500. I would rather have my stock on incase something happens or I fail emisions. I already have a borla exhaust. My friend and I are probably going to convert to the cone K&N filter at the same time we install my headers. However, my buying a new ECU and the calmini lift kit all depends on whether or not I get this new job. So, lets hope I get the job. After that, it's a new stereo and dynomat-ing from the firewall back including the doors. Truck is just to loud
  5. Has anybody upgraded their ECU? I was just looking at AC's site and they look to be around $500 for my 95. Are they worth it and do they offer the 15 - 17 HP that they say they do? Man, if they do I'll get one along with the headers too. That's what credit cards are for! A little of topic, but what kind of clutch's do you guys have. Is there one you recommend getting? I'm not in need of one. Just want to know for future reference.
  6. I ordered the ceramic ones for a 95. I see on their website that they pushed the date back to 9/6. We'll see. I am and am not in a rush. I want them, but I don't want to dish out the money, so whenever they get here is fine, and not fine! Do I make any sense? :-) I wish I had a real job again so I can get it all done quickly.
  7. I have a manual. My concern is adding the susp. lift and having to modify the Y-pipe and then having it recoated, etc... But I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. My friend today asked me why I was getting headers when I have an S4. I said: "You just don't understand." Then he told me to sell my S4 and I told his boss to fire him! LOL. He works for Mothers, which is a local speed shop in Rockaway NJ and he was getting me prices on new bushings.
  8. I just ordered the ceramic coated Thorley headers today. Estimated ship date is 8/30. Has anybody ever installed them before? I'll posts picks of the install when they come in. Maybe sometime around Christmas I'll have enough money for the lift. Working for CompUSA hardly pays the bills when you have a 2001 S4.
  9. I wrote Thorley about putting their headers on with a lift kit. I thought I would pass along their response. I'm looking at their ceramic hearders plus a Calmini lift kit with bilstein shocks. If anybody has an idea of which bilstein series to get, please let me know. I was looking at the 5100's and the 5150's. I really like the way that the 5150's look, but I also saw that the 6100's are the main off-road shock that most people get. What do you guys think? I just got that lifetime alignment from Firestone. I hope they don't give me a bad time when I do all this suspension work. By the way, my Pathy just broke 180,000 this weekend and as far as I know, it's the original suspension so it's time for some new stuff. :-)
  10. I was just on the thorley website and they say that their headers work with a stock height Pathfinder. Have any of you installed them with a 3 inch lift kit? I'm looking at the calmini kit but before that I want to get those headers. Mine is a '95 manual.
  11. I have a question reguarding this suspension lift. After I do the springs, control arms and torsion bars, what bilstein shocks should I get? If I remember correctly, I can't just get the stock ones because I need something longer? Any suggestions?
  12. My 1995 SE has 179,000 miles on it and I'm looking for a good suspension, but I'm not looking to lift her at all. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should be replacing the old stuff with? I still have the original suspension. I was looking at the Koni Specials on tirerack? What do you guys think?
  13. I have the same problem and I was thinking it is because of the manifold gasket. I had the classic manifold problem when I bought the truck and I'm not sure how long it was going on before I got it. I had the bolts and the gasket replaced, however the guy who fixed it told me that the new gasket melted and had to be replaced again. I'm thinking that the manifold is to warped. Is that a possibility? It would give me a good reason to go get those thorley headers! Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions???
  14. Here in NJ, we have a trick. Chevron makes a product called Techron fuel system cleaner. I failed emissions and I went and got myself a bottle of that stuff and drove around for 20 minutes, went back and passed. Not sure if it will work in your case, but it's a cheap option to try.
  15. These are the ones I just found on crutchfield. Any ideas which ones to go with? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GjXzg25nGnS/c...&fit=M&size=5X7
  16. Here in Jersey, we are around $2.05 for 87, but my Audi takes 93 so I'm now up to $2.15+. Thankfully the Mobil station here has 10 cents off on super on Mondays and Thursdays. I don't know what is worse, paying for super but getting better gas mileage for my car or paying for regular and my Pathfinder getting crappy gas mileage. My Audi has a 16 gallon tank and gets 400 miles to the tank is I don't mess around, but the pathy has a 21 gallon tank and if I'm lucky, I get 300 miles! SHEESH!
  17. PATHFINDER95NI, Thanks for the info. Definately send over the pics once you have them. Can I get the headers installed after the exhaust? My friends father started it last night and should be done tonight. If I can have the headers done after, then I might go that route, however if I can't them I'll just get new exhuast manifolds. This is starting to become an expensive investment, especially since I have an 2001 S4 to pay for.
  18. I'm new to this whole Pathfinder thing. I just bought it last June and have been without it for the last six months. I have to do a lot of work since the person who had it before me didn't keep up with the maintanance. I'm getting my Borla exhaust installed tomorrow and I'm having the famous manifold problem. My question is, can I install headers after the exhaust is installed and if I can, how much modification is needed and how hard will it be? I'm just trying to get it back in shape. I had to replace rocker arms, lifters, various gaskets, etc. I had so much carbon build-up that I had no oil pressure. I also had blown out hubs that I had to replace. I guess not everybody takes care of their cars like we do. I also have changed the plugs, wires, air filter, PCV valve, fuel filter and flushed the cooling system. Any thing else I should be doing?
