  1. Here is my other hoopty I drive when it wants to work 1988 300zx I keep digging, and keep finding neglect and carelessness of the PO's
  2. I think its better to put two batteries, however two batteries plus solar panels would be even better, you can keep using your AUX battery when out camping and you don't need to start your car to charge it when it dies. The reason being most people run all their extra junk on the AUX battery This reduces the strain put on your Primary so only the functions your car came with run on your primary. If you are out four wheeling and you kill your battery those solar panels will be useless. You will be stranded with out a way to start your rig. Where as with the AUX you can do an internal jumpstart and limp out of the woods and get yourself home. Just my
  3. I helped a friend replace a starter on his hardbody in a parking lot up at Crown Point lookout, of course I was the one on the ground, and it started raining like a monsoon, and of course I found out I was in the gutter, got wet real quick lol
  4. I have the 4.32 gears in mine, and yea to say its gutless is an understatement lol. If I am going up a hill and I want to maintain 55, I have to downshift to 3rd and pull some serious RPMS If I am in 4 High and encounter a inclined slope and I mash it, the rpms will not climb it will bog down and stall. I have had to switch to 4 low. It works for now. I am actively seeking a crashed Xterra so I can steal the 4.9 gear sets
  5. They will fit, I have Cragar 15x8s w/ 3.75 BS and am running 33x12.50s. 2" AC and 1" strut spacer. They don't rub the fenders up front as there is no flex but they have rearranged my rear fender well openings for sure. The only thing you have to worry about is the hardlines coming from under the rig and into the engine compartment via the Passenger wheel well. At full right lock they tire makes contact with the protective shield and rubs on it quite a bit. Too bad they couldnt have moved those damn lines a few inches one way or the other.
  6. Heck yea, cant count how many times my $25 big lots Chinese set has gotten me off the side of a road!
  7. Along with theexbrit I didn't like the angles with the cherokee model, so I cut it and reshaped it to match the A-pillar, much happier
  8. I don't know if the post face lift R-50s are any different than the pre face lift guys. Do you have power or manual windows? On the pre face lift cars w/manual windows you have to remove two bolts in the arm rest. One bolt behind a round cover inside the door handle cup. There is a trim piece around the door handle that popes off. Then there is a snap ring under the window crank arm that needs removing. After that were are a few plastic clips usually orange or yellow that need to be popped out. They make a trim piece tool that helps you not break them. Its quite handy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auto-Trim-Pad-Remover-Upholstery-Clip-Removal-Panel-Car-Pry-Bar-Installer-Tool-/230938220051 The panel sits on the window opening so once all the clips are out just lift up and out.
  9. Its really not too difficult to change out your headunit (HU) and replace it with something better. This is all based on if you don't have a BOSE system. With that I think you have factory amps to bypass and so forth. All these parts can be found at a local car audio store and possibly an auto parts store(sorry I have no idea what kind of stores are down there!) Depending on what HU you bought, 1-din or 2-din you will need an install kit that comes with mounting hardware and other plastic bits to fill in the open space. One like this: http://www.amazon.com/Stereo-Install-Nissan-Pathfinder-installation/dp/B000KL6UGC Then you will need to find a wiring harness adapter from 2000 Pathy harness to radio adapter one like this: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-7550-Wiring-Harness-Speaker/dp/B0002BG6B4/ref=pd_cp_e_0 Edit; I think you will need an antenna adapter also, I can't remember, it has been so long since I did mine. You will know when you see the hold in the HU is different than the plug!
  10. So you lose your rear view mirror? Should find a newer Toyota mirror and see if you can use it. I love that they have the video screen built into them stealthy
  11. How long does it take to fire when you use the key?
  12. How worn is your clutch? Did the rolling motion slow down such that the engine was turning over just not firing? Or was it unimpeded like with he clutch in?
  13. Only thing I have going on during the weekend is on Nov. 30th wheeling with some X's. Might as well pick a date and see if everyone can roll with it
