  1. you may want to do some searching. there have been a couple of these conversions done. just get a 4x4, imho.
  2. 101 is not an approp designation for extreme. 401.. maybe that.
  3. mine never does that and i have removed my battery pretty often. hmm
  4. all the time or only when you were stuck?
  5. yeah, just before the cat and facing inwards and upwards a bit. hard to miss it. check for spot welds when you're PB blasting it. mine was spot welded and a real PITA to remove. you'll need 22mm open end wrench unless you have a sensor socket.
  6. that needs to be on a hood.
  7. check the whole gate too. that's more likely to be leaking as there is area for the water to be held up in there.
  8. oh yeah, here is the bacon vision: http://bacolicio.us/http://bacolicio.us/ht....com//index.php :D
  9. do NOT put the BAR stop leak thing in there as it also tends to plug small passages that need to be open for the thing to operate properly.
  10. yeah, chevy block has been done.. maybe even a vg33 but if you can't find a vg30 block, i'd imagine vg33 will be hard to find too.
  11. this is actually a pretty common issue.. there have been several threads on this.. it has been a while though.. i'd say a couple of years at least. look around deeper in the garage areas if the search gives you fits. there could be several reasons: morpheus hit on a couple - the most common and it could be related to the install of the alarm. it could also be lack of lubricant in the locks and the system too.. thus things sticking.. and i think the most common and the easiest to fix is the plug in the door sometimes comes apart enough to couse these roving issues. check all the locks (the little posts) on all doors when you lock them and unlock them. see if they are going fully up and fully down. one of my outside handles sticks and it will cause the locking system to go crazy if not returned fully to it's resting position. the actuators are in the doors. you'll have to open those up. i never leave a key inside without at least one of the windows being down. a few years ago i was camping in WV mountains and got locked out late at night.. thank goodness i had all my sleeping gear out and set up... got a coat hanger from an RV next door and broke back in.. what freaked me out in the morning though was that i arrived at the campground just minutes after a bear went thrashing through and making a mess, which i did notice upon arrival but didn't know the cause. i just figured it was sunday night so this was the mess after the weekend crowds. it would have sucked if the bear returned and i had not place to go.. i think my glasses were in the car too. lol
  12. looks like a good deal to me. hmm. i wish i had the dough..
  13. simon, so you just weld it on the outside of the hole? i've been considering getting the bad side wrapped but the guy wants quite the change.. it would have to most of one side.. from the rear wheel bump up almost all the way to the front. ---------- oh yeah, mo AMPs, mo powar. not sure what you need but err on the high side. and the area prep, it's has to be clean of rust. clean, clean, clean.. 1. the weld doesn't want to stick to rust; 2, you're already making it weak by having the rust there, if it sticks.. it won't last though.
  14. probably the cv but you won't know unless you get down there and check it out. as to 4x4.. did you actually pull the stick far enough? there are a couple of threads around here about how to 'shift it on the fly'.. may want to find them and review the procedure.
  15. add the costs that you're thinking and compare that to a cost of a replacement. if the frame is good, it may be worth it... if not, most of the stuff you have done in the past will either be a spare or you can switch it over to the newer truck.
  16. check both the oil and coolant for mixing.. are you losing coolant?
  17. i used compressors from autozone free rental and they worked like a charm. they are a bit slow going but it's a breeze of a job with those things. you still have to be careful though.
  18. you may want to look through some pictures or all the other roof rack threads. have fun exploring.
  19. or you all just need to learn how to drive. :D
  20. you know we're just guessing as we haven't heard the sounds but i'd say this is one of your issues: and the other may be what colby here above just said. those are my first thoughts based purely on my gut feeling. k9, do i need to buy you a torque wrench?
  21. run the ecu diagnostic man. mine never has cut out at redline or beyond it.. hmm
  22. redline.. from design of the motor. shifting etc.. ecu.
