  1. i think 88 mentioned that long, long time ago on here too. makes me wonder how some seem able to put in more then others. maybe the pickup is higher in some truck.
  2. are the MAFs on battery side in the TBI models? i'd avoid running a wire across the top pf the motor on my truck.
  3. but it's the same damn motor in all these wd models. hmm
  4. i've coasted into a gas station before and 19.2 or something.. the .2 was probably all in the filler tube. lol
  5. oh cool. thanks for the update. they are just a lot of work. be glad you don't have the autotragic tranny in there.
  6. sounds like the vids from that certain cam are corrupt.
  7. i'll update. i bet (hoping) it's just one of those coolant hoses that is tucked under there. but, i'll know for sure next week.
  8. thanks k9sar. damn it, looks it will have to come off.
  9. all pathfinders have a low gas light. i have never been able to get in more then 19gal. some say that pathy's have 21gal tank. i'm thinking there must have been a couple of different designs/sizes.
  10. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=9577 yeah, and be careful as the wire elements in ther are prett delicate.
  11. hmm.. could be that who ever did the timing belt before put on the wrong one. i don't think there is a way unless you can find the serial number on it and chase that down.
  12. lol. too small man. it'll probably be next week when i get that done as i am about to head out to the SMOKIES!!!! yay!!
  13. if the search function doesn't yeald results, just look through the r50 forums. there has been a lot of tire discussion in the past as well as all the other things. one thing though, r50s are are unibody thus no body lift; just a suspension one.
  14. ok, time to start checking the spark components and fuel pump. CEL on by any chance? you may want to run the diagnostic modes anyway.
  15. ok. if the fan spins very freely when hot or cold, the clutch is shot. this is on a stopped engine, ok? lol when hot, you shouldn't be able to move it at all. when cold, it should spin just a bit. mine doesn't spin 1/4 turn.. maybe half of that..
  16. try again because that sure is hard to understand.
  17. interference i bet that's the prob. do a compression test right away.
  18. that's what i'd do first too.
  19. a friend told me that he found a similar thing on XOC. i'm just waiting for the link. i hate going there otherwise. lol sure. but i also have a couple of questions. do these heads and intake have freeze plugs? where? if the do. thanks k9sar yeah, no kidding. i was thinking she'd have the info i need as she, at least, used to have multiple engines on stands. i'll txt her in a bit and see what's up. thanks guys.
  20. you'd think but that is definitely not my experience. every single time they acted up and acted up until i changed them. yeah, i'd definitely start by checking the spark and all the related components. then fuel pressure. if you have the fuel rails, there is a bicycle type valve on each rail. that's where you check it. "shade tree" mechanic's just depress the valve by hand and if you have a geyser of fuel from there, chances are the pump is good. a real mech would attach a pressure guage there. definitely check the ground. could be the whole problem there i would also say, do all the diagnostics that may apply yourself before you go throwing hundo bills around unless you have too much cash and if that is the case, why don't you donate some to my unemployment fund. thanks. could be a number of different things. start with the ecu, then your spark components, then fuel pump. you'll figure it out.
  21. you definitely want it switched off as NOT TO FRY IT. the stock fan will throw water everywhere but it could also bust from all the water against it. i've had water splashing against my windshield. no worries.
  22. it's not the hoses but something that they attach to? and thanks for the #6 advice. i did the plugs not all that many miles ago but will be checking all of the anyway. maybe i cracked the intake or at least the area where the hoses attach is busted up. hmm.. i'll keep you posted. thanks guys. so, no one has a pic?
