yeah, that's kind of normal..

those aren't that big of a deal but you have to find them, trace them and extend them into a dry area.. depends how deep you wanna go.
-
+ the alt. is one of the lowest components in these things.

look (search) in the garage section here.. lot's of info
-
you didn't give us the lengths of these spots.. that could make a difference but you did say small... so i am going to assume them to be scratches.. yeah, to what you said.. whatever you do (don't have to necessarily sand it) you need to get rid of/stop the rust... there are many products for that.. may want to look at the product review thread.. not sure where it's at but i am fairly sure it's pinned somewhere.. i think, folks mentioned anti-rust products.. it'd also think, that there is some discussion of rust prevention/treatment methods in threads titled "frame rot" and "frame rust." (or something to that effect)

wow you must like to wrench then.. domestics will do that to you.. lol.. you can get the bar from a wrecker for some pretty measly change comparing to 1400..
-
daumn my man.. maybe santa will bring you a bucket of cash, eh? still makes me wonder why it didn't fire up when you pushed it... was the key on? i know it doesn't really matter at this point in time but i am still puzzled. hope it all turns out ok.. it's supposed to be in the 40s here for x-mas.. wth? is up with this winter..

isn't ATF white-ish also? if it is the head gasket you're gonna blow it if you keep driving the truck.. also check the coolant for oil..

-
check the TREs and BJs for loosness
-
have you checked the level of your power steering fluid?
-
after this amount of time, if hydrolocked, it should have dissepated... i'd just start checking the wireing, are you getting any current at the coil? into it or out? same with starter..
-
yeah, a bit of a pita.. the tranny pan has to come off.. messy. cv axles prices sound like they are in the ball park.. you can find them cheaper on ebay.. they aren't that hard to change but a little time consuming.. definately do the external cooler mod.. pronto.. grumpy, i thought she wrecked the truck, no?

It almost sounds like the engine is hydro locked, or something similar. You need to pull all of the plugs and see if it is a hydro lock (fluid will run out of the plug holes). If there's no evidence of fluid in the cylinders you'll probably need to pull the valve cover and see if the top end looks okay. After that it has to be some problem deeper in the engine. It is going to be safest to hand turn the engine (via the crank pulley) until you figure out why the engine won't turn over. Trying to do so with the starter runs the risk of burning out the starter. And trying to do so by pushing it off runs the risk of bending/breaking something. What lead up to the desire to clean the MAF? Was the engine running properly before you cleaned the MAF? How much cleaner did you spray into the intake? that my guess too especially since you mention the wheels locking up.. definitely pull the plugs (get the 4 anyway) and look inside (using flashlight).. if fluid present then crank, by hand, to get rid of the fluid... also, be careful when you pull the first plug.. the content of the cylinder may be under pressure.. then i'd let it air out for a bit.. and try again..

lol... welcome!

alpine 5x7 is an almost direct replacement.. napa has these $15/pr. ones that are exact replacement although not made by clarion but another comp in japan.. they even look the same.. of course paper cones suck!! the tool is nice but i find it unnecesary.. butter knife or a flat screwdriver does a good job and i bet you already have either one or both at home..
-
that's how i do it too B but that doesn't mean it's a bad product.. anyone that has used it seems to rave about it.. can't be that bad... when one is 60, i bet it's not so easy to just crawl under one's vehicle either... and on my mustang it's a real pita because the darn thing is so low to the ground..
-
did you check the badge on the door pillar? that's when it was made regardless of what your title says.
-
slick, when did you do the relocation? did you write it up? i missed that somewhere, if you did.. :cool2:
-
congrats on getting them out but it doesn't really sound like you really got the X's to go.. yeah, PICS! PICS! PICS! hahahahaha
-
i really don't think this is silly. it's supposedly works really great.. no mess, no crawling under ones vehicle... sounds pretty good to me..
