  1. Yea, the steering linkage is a concern for me too, otherwise I would be interested this summer when I can hopefully get an internship that pays nicely...
  2. But from Australia, shipping would murder all of us not floating on an oversized island...
  3. My 97 with 31's would get 21-22 on the highway all day...now my 01 is a different story, with 31's I have yet to hit 20, almost always right on 19...I have heard of 4runners getting crappy mileage too, for some reason some just get good mileage and some get bad mileage...
  4. I hope this can materialize, I would still not be in the market until this summer, but provided a couple satisfied customers post up some reviews I would jump on it...
  5. Damn man I'm sorry to hear about this...thinking about what other people are capable of doing is pretty scary...I am glad you are alright...
  6. My 97 was always like that...It didnt turn the light off until I either cut the wheel to help it pop out or backed up...
  7. Lookin good Jose! I think I like that bare metal steel look than the powder coat black look...
  8. Yea thats what I meant...It is a very good opportunity for whoever is the first to make a kit consistently... mudfild: Enjoy your kit, I am very jealous!
  9. I think if you guys have already gone that far on a kit, you might as well offer a kit that includes at least the steering and brake parts needed, I think most people would want something prefabbed and proven rather than making their own, especially with steering. Also, maybe offer an option that includes say coils and shocks for the rear or coil spacers and shocks...I know I would rather buy the kit all in one from one person than have to start piecing things together on my own. Don't get me wrong, I think it is fantastic that you are offering this and I hope you have much success, but I am sure there are other people more like me that want a more complete kit that covers everything since I don't have the experience or time to do the right things. Thank you for your hard work and willingness to distribute such a needed item to the members of this board, if a more complete kit appears you can bet I will be on your list very quickly!
  10. So what else would be needed? Rear springs obviously but what else up front? Steering extension?
  11. My foot is in my mouth...forgot about the whole extendability thing...
  12. Those are my wheels on my truck. The X has the same sized hubs because those wheels fit perfectly around my Warns. The reason they are set back so much is because I used 1.5" wheel adapters (glorified wheel spacers, you bolt them onto your existing bolts and the wheels bolt to them). I used them in order to fit larger tires and just because I wanted the wheels pushed out to the corners a bit more. The SC wheels are 17", the stock wheels are 16", so your tires will not interchange. I think the SC wheels look better on a Pathy then they do on an X, they should have just made an SC VQ35 Pathfinder...with a 5 speed...that might have been a little fun...
  13. The 5 spoke SC wheels look very nice indeed...
  14. Agreed this is the easiest way to hopefully get a little more air to the engine...and I got a little bit of sound on my 97 doing that...
  15. I bought the K&N Intake because I was stupid and like to waste money...I love it, but Chris (02silverpathy) bought the intake pipes and filters you can get at your local auto store and built a custom intake for 1/10 the price I paid. And he built a custom heat shield. I will say that this engine sounds sweeeeeeeeeet with an intake on it.
  16. I think most people vow never to do links again after the lowers, and the uppers aren't known to cause problems like the death wobble...i imagine the market is just too small for them
  17. Struts that extend longer would be pointless because they would put the CV's at a severe angle...What I hear from most people is the topping out goes away after a while...I was ripped off and sold blown KYB's with the lift springs so mine never made a noise when topping out...
  18. That is excellent work...I will never remove my fender flares for fear of what I find...
  19. Welcome fellow MDer! I am located up in HarCo, but down in PG at UMD...ok enough with the acronyms...enjoy the pathy and the forum!
  20. They are a tad pricey, but if you need to replace the links and offroad I would think they are worth the extra cost...And its definitely a good thing to have for people with SFD's...
  21. I didn't feel like reading everything...I bought Dan's hitch off of his 99 and put it on my 2001. I did not remove the rear bumper, and honestly I don't think it would have helped at all. First of all the bumper on the 99 doesn't hang down as far as my 01, so the hitch digs into the bottom of the bumper a little, which is barely noticeable until you are wondering why it is so hard to get all of the bolt holes to line up. Otherwise, the bolts were a pain in the ass to get in because these are big, beefy bolts that need a good sized ratchet and you have a very small space to work in...
  22. Those are designed as a temporary solution if you rip one on the trail...they are no good for a long term solution...
