  1. Here is 31x10.50R15 on the stock wheels with the AC lift...32's will NOT fit without a wheel adapter. I do not have mine installed on this picture...
  2. I liked the KC Daylighters I had...driving beam... I am going to get these and put them behind the grill of my 01. Hopefully the Hellas are good...
  3. I trust you Dan...we will see what happens this weekend
  4. I was thinking about using one of those removal tools if they were cheap enough, other wise I would rather just drill them out slight larger and tap new holes...so I am 99% sure you can count me in on this
  5. Well other than the fact that I only have 3 bolts still holding my splash guard on, I would love one if I can get them out in a reasonable manner
  6. Dude, noone wants to see a tow truck, get it out of here! and Morpheus, good deal man, definitely post up pics of it...
  7. Rancho RS9000XL. They ride great IMO. If we meet up this summer you can evaluate the ride yourself... And Fueler: the Ranchos fit on both my 97 and my 01 with NO modifications. The 97 just needed a bunch of washers and the 01 needed some taps with a rubber mallet since the bushing was a tight fit, but no drilling or any of that nonsense was necessary on either vehicle...
  8. Looks very nice man, congrats! Now how do you think it rides compared to stock? I think it actually handles better lifted...at least mine with AC components
  9. I hear that, that VG33 was a royal pain in the arse...the VQ35 is MUCH easier to replace, and nowhere near as messy
  10. I don't know about Napa Gold, but the Mobil1 is actually slight longer than the stock filter...also I never had an issue with the price since the cost vs. replacement time for the oil and the filter are cheaper this way...
  11. The stock SE wheels are 7" wide, but they are aluminum. If you have the stock chrome steelies from an XE, you need to make sure they are wide enough for a 265 tire...
  12. Actually it does "soak" into the metal...watch the videos, i have seen it on multiple car shows on Speed...
  13. I really wnt to try that stuff but its too expensive, I will stick with Lucas Oil Synthetic stabilizer for the oil and seafoam for the gas...
  14. I am staying with 265/65R17. They rub a little at full lock, I have no interest in trimming for the 265/70's. And I think they fill it out well enough...
  15. I didnt need a spring compressor on either side. Just jack do what 01silva said, but unbolt both the shock and the sway bar on both sides. Then jack up the opposite side to further lower the axle to install. None of my brake lines or anything even got tight while doing this...
  16. And heres hopefully a really helpful pic Remember the X rims are 17x8, I don't know about backspacing but hopefully that helps
  17. Yes they clear the stock strut, but not by much. Mine are 265/65R17 on the X rims, here are the pics without the spacers... Then I added the 1.5" wheel spacers ONLY to move the wheels flush with the fender flares... And now the X rims on the 01 with the wheel spacers...
  18. I thought I said I didn't have any techincal reasons in one of my posts, but it is simply speculation because I have found the mileage increase with regular on the highway in high compression engines to be true..
  19. I agree with all of this except the bolded statement. I think that statement is true everywhere except for on the highway. I have heard and had experience with my ML that it got better mileage with lower octane on the highway. As I said before I think that the lower octane fuel is easier for the high compression engine to burn on the highway...just my guess but I do know that lower octane fuel yields higher mileage on the highway...
  20. My RS9000XL's were both very hard to compress by hand on the softest setting, impossible on the stiffest. Also, both of mine wanted to extend under no load...
  21. My owner's manual in the 01 has all the info on both the VG33 and the VQ35 (I have no clue why). Making the switch to synthetic in the VG made it so much smoother, the VQ didn't seem to make much of a difference (just peace of mind with the clogging issues, mine isn't burning yet and I plan to keep it that way). Also, I second the Restore motion, I used that in my Accord at 160k and my ML320 at 200k and it made both of them feel much smoother through the RPM range, I have only used the Lucas Oil Synthetic stabilizer in both R50's but I like that a lot too...
  22. I definitely agree about performance, hence why I only use it when I am on a long cruising trip. I don't have concrete numbers for my pathfinder but I found (along with many others on benzworld) in my ML that highway mileage increased with the 87 octane. I have used 87 a couple of times in my pathfinder and it seemed to give about a 1mpg better result, however I haven't had a long enough highway trip to really tell.
  23. Owner's manual? I don't understand what your contesting, but my VG33 ran much better switching from dino to synthetic oil than increasing octane, and there wasn't even a but dino difference, so I don't mess with it.
  24. X2 on what Jose said, mine do the same but they are slowly getting better...
  25. First let's clarify something, Nissan recommends 87 for the VG33 and 91 for the VQ35. I never ran more than 87 in the VG33 b/c it wasn't fast enough for me to care about the very minimal performance gain. In my VQ35, I use premium around town since it runs so much smoother. I do use regular on long highway trips b/c I have always found a slight mileage increase with regular on the highway. I was on benzworld with my ML320, and many many people on that forum do the same thing. I don't know if this is right but something about the regular takes less effort to burn while cruising so the engine doesn't work as hard with regular. However when driving aggressively with regular you get preignition and knocking, hence why I use premium around town.
