  1. I am 99% sure the roof rack will, the flares might not be a perfect fit but with some finagling you should be able to make them work...one thing I do know is that the front flare goes down onto the front bumper on my 97 but on the 01 I will have this friday the flare stops before the front bumper...
  2. what about skids? If you weld a couple of sheets together and weld on braces annd what not i would imagine it would be strong enough to last you a little while...or you could do panels to go in the cargo area and on the back of the back seats to protect it...
  3. Is there any update on this truck? I can't stand not knowing...
  4. nice, def. want to hear that...i took the intake off my V6, thought it sounded funny
  5. nice mods man, i love the way it sounds in that video
  6. Mine came off a week after the lift came on...be prepared to LEAN, the lift was stiff enough the lean wasn't bad but the stock suspension is horrible...as for extra flex I doubt you would get much since the flex is limited by strut length anyway...I would say it is safe to drive without it just drive accordingly
  7. Yea well with our less than 4 qt capacity and almost 1 qt being the clear lucas oil stuff, i think i will never see it...it has been 1k miles and still cant see it
  8. Technically I have no idea, but with mine unlocked if i pull the lever to 4HI at idle in 1st it makes a bad grinding/clicking sound, maybe Dean or somebody can shine some light on it
  9. So every time I change my oil with full synthetic I cannot get a reading on the dipstick until like 2,000 miles later...I use the lucas oil additive, which is clear, but I wouldn't think it would give me no reading...is anyone else experiencing this?
  10. I think the most popular shock for lifted R50's is the Rancho...I have only heard of Pezzy using them and chances are her part number (if she still has it anywhere) is obsolete...
  11. Could contribute to keeping the rotor cooler under heavy breaking...
  12. If you have All Mode you MUST leave it in 2wd whilst driving, only put it in auto or 4hi or 4lo when you have the hubs engaged...
  13. haha your description made me laugh...thanks for your help Dan, btw: why did you decide not to sell yours?
  14. Alright guys come on...the biggest point of this forum is because we all love PATHFINDERS...this is not only a great resource for off road questions, but it is also a great source for repair, maintenance, etc. questions. I don't like the rubber band look but more people like that than the big brawny tire look, so don't knock it.
  15. I only had a stubby ratchet, the strut rod nut is different then most, it pretty much stops at a point and feels like you will break it if you go any further whereas most of the others you can keep going....if ya know what i mean
  16. Alright guys, it seems like the strut rod nut somehow got a little loose, so Dan is our official genius... I love cheap and easy fixes, though fitting a wrench under the bracket on the drivers side is a pain in the arse (the passenger is widdddde open for those of you that know what i am talking about)
  17. Thanks Pete, I have had the entire assembly apart twice so far for various reasons, and I noticed that the bearings on both seemed like they were starting to crack a little bit, so after I check the strut rod bolt I will have to check that when I get it apart...
  18. I actually got all of that stuff done too...yay me for not being full of crap
  19. Thanks for the info guys, I hope it is just the strut rod nut...
  20. Thanks guys, I didnt even think about checking the nut on the strut rod, so I will check that tomorrow when I can get my hands on a socket at work...my little rubber things never stay on so I tossed them a while ago... Just in case, what should I look for in the mount itself to be bad? Would it be warped or something? The strut will be off this weekend to put the old strut/spring combo back on to try and sell it but the clunking isn't good for test drives...
  21. So as the title says, I have a clunking noise in my front drivers side strut when I go over bumps...I had my dad push the side of the truck to rock it and identified that the clunk is coming from the upper strut mount assembly. I checked the torque on the three bolts bolting it to the truck and they were all tight. I do have a 1" spacer located between the lower and upper plates in the assembly. My only guess is the strut bearing? Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated...
  22. I will drag this back up for my new tires... Year: 1997 lift: AC coils 1" spacer up front Wheels: Stock 97 wheels, 15x7 Tires: Definity Dakota A/T 31x10.50 Notes: Without my wheel adapters I get a little rub at full lock turning the wheel to the right, will update with wheel adapter if i keep it...
  23. I have the silverstar ultras in my 97 right now...gotta say nothing helps these headlights much, they just have extremely poor output from the beginning...they did brighten up a little, but they still suck...best solution I came up with is aiming my KC Daylighters down some and using those with my low beams...
  24. I am kind of partial to the rims that hfxpathfinder has... or you could always go with xterra s/c rims...
  25. indeed it is...the part number i put above...check the flex pics thread to see how far they let the rear axle hang when i was getting new tires today
