Well I know the manual's torque is at its peak at 3000 RPM, and Dean is absolutely correct on this one (when is he not correct?)... With my ML 320 there were larger discussions why at 70 mph it would be going at 3k RPM, the simple answer was that the gearing in the diffs and tranny were formulated so at that speed the engine was close to its peak torque so it wouldn't have to downshift to get more power and so the engine could move the truck with relative ease, rather than pushing hard and using lots of gas at a lower RPM...

man, i am dieing just to find a muddy trail to drive on, it will be more satisfying to detail it after it is covered in mud
-
that sounds neat, id like to see it... i was just browsing vids of stock pathies off road, i must say i am impressed every time i watch...one vid pissed me off cuz they were comparing a stock cherokee to a stock pathy, but the cherokee had mud tires on it and the pathy had highway tires, yet it did almost everything the cherokee did
-
sorry if this is a repeat, ive never seen it on here before...

wellllllll....you now sparked my MB owners pride...the MLs after 05 were gutless, the 98-05 is an amazing machine, much more capable than my stock R50, AND it had a real frame with the coil rear torsion front setup, so if I knew what I know now, I would have gotten some coil spacers and tweaked the Tbars more

I think Mercedes is the worst...unless you have the brand new AMG they dont give a crap about you...my 99 ML320 with 230k on it was a great truck, but when i took it in to get them to check something out it took them 3 days because they had "priority" customers, at least thats what the manager told me when i raised hell

oh god i love that truck, thats exactly what i want my 01 to look like when im done, just my X rims instead -
damn man, thats like this local shop that told me i needed to have my rear drums adjusted and cleaned last weekend when it was getting inspected, i laughed at him and told him they were self adjusting and to show me where they needed cleaning...after fumbling around a little he showed me the drums and magically couldn't find what the mechanic said needed to be cleaned, the look on his face was priceless I do however like the firestones i went to cuz they never try to sell me shiz when im getting my lifetime alignment done

im sure if u let him borrow your truck to make all of the necessary products you would get some nice deals on anything u wanted...
-
Maybe they would throw in some sort of incentive for Alex if he lets them use it?
-
I think he was suggesting you lend it to them so they can make one, not so u can buy one...I think your ARB looks completely badass ass well, enjoy it
-
seconded...they would have a good market their...

Smaller Wheels- Will They Fit?
laxman0324 replied to 01silvapathy's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
im gonna be honest, that is absolutely disgusting! This is a great thing...I think the best two colors on the R50 was black (which I now have) and beige (trying to get rid of). the ARB is fantastic,...nice truck man, enjoy it -

u think ur connections could spread for the lift? -
Alex is referring to 96-99, not the 99.5-00...

Smaller Wheels- Will They Fit?
laxman0324 replied to 01silvapathy's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I think it depends on the wheel...some people can run them some cant...I personally like the larger wheel with big tire than the tons of rubber look so don't have that problem... -
wouldnt 4.6's kill mileage on the highway since you are revving higher at the same speed than with 4.3's?
-
I firmly believe gearing is a big factor too, my VG is always spinning high on the highway from the 4.6's and the VQ has 4.3's, so hopefully that will help too...
-
I average 18 in the 97, maxed out at 22 once...those numbers are all with manual hubs...i will post mileage on my 01 AFTER I get manual hubs on it...
