The automatic makes the VG feel extremely sluggish when trying to drive sporty, its either go slow or floor it, no in between...and the VG33 was just under 170hp (168), dont give it too much cred ...I feel like the VQ is quieter, smoother, and leaps and bounds more powerful, the manual VQ puts out 250hp and 240 ft/lb of torque with NO power valve screws, whilst the auto variant puts out 240hp and 265ft/lb torque...I love the VQ and would reccomend it to anyone who wants an R50, the VG33 makes it feel archaic... One thing I should point out, VG is iron block and VQ is aluminum block...

you can check my "member's rides" page to see the rims on my old R50, I probably wont do anything more than test fit them on the new one til summer...my pathy has "summer rims"
-
I think I can manage that one, what a sacrifice :tonguefinger:
-
I thought I did too but he hasnt returned my calls for a couple of days, but I got 6 calls over the weekend so have been working my way through those people...def. go for the 5 speed when you do, it makes it feel so much sportier, im loving it
-
Thanks a lot bud, once again good luck on your search for the Sportcombi...
-
Haha let me get used to driving a 5 speed before i dream big...which I am (Supercharger way way wayyyyy down the road in my wildest dreams...), and technically it isnt tagged, insured, etc. until 1. I sell my truck or 2. the inspection cert. expires, whichever comes first...I NEED to sell mine ASAP now that I have been able to have some fun around the neighborhood with the VQ
-
Well some of you know I was able to get into a 2001 Pathfinder with the 5 speed and VQ35...Well it has 92k mile on it, beige interior, and the Bose audio with steering wheel controls...I lost the sunroof, leather, and auto climate control of the last one but the tradeoff is well worth it...so the plans for it are lift (still have mine and if I get enough for my 97 I will keep it) Xterra S/C rims (def keeping those), blackout headlights and tails if I can find a way I like, and other things as they come to me...Anyway, here are the pics... btw: I have already been called a motor boatin SOB by a member for getting this truck, so if any of you can top it feel free to try...and to who said it, I didn't know you talked to my GF!! :tonguefinger: Most important two...

Can you or Pezzy post a pic of those wheels with the manual hubs on it? I am looking into getting them but just want to see what it will look like -

Those OEM wheels need to be machined in order to fit it... -
You have the grill guard from Nige, put it on and get some good off road lights, that will be better then trying to wire something up and end up having more problems down the road...
-
Well someone (Stillen I believe) makes a supercharger for the VQ35 in the pathfinder...
-
Makes sense...well def. let us know if you do something with the 350Z since there are multiple superchargers available for it (future interest for my 3 day old 01 5 speed)
-
Maybe you could find one in a junkyard for cheap? I would like to know what is different on them to allow the manual to have more hp...
-
Manual VQ intake manifolds don't have power valve screws, that would probably be the simplest solution, and they have 10 more hp and i would assume more torque...
-
Sarcasm, of course he will replace them himself...honestly after you have worked with them once and know what to do its really easy to do...
-
I would check this too...im not sure of location but I had to do this on my old Accord
-
Like I said, not a "problem", its the natural tendency of the tranny
-
Mine has always had a firm shift into second, the rest were smooth...i dont think that its unusual so i wouldnt call it a problem
-
I don't think it is a "problem" i just think thats the way it is...Dean or someone of the like correct me if im wrong
-
My pathy has always had a firm shift into second, and silky smooth afterwards..
-
Let us know how they both turn out, that opens up a lot of options for people if it does...good luck

The hindsight worked wonders on my 99 ML320, my moms 04 Pilot, my sisters 06 CR-V, and my dads 03 Excursion...the one I bought the pathy with is a cheap frame one and its done the job well for over a year...if it hasnt been used in a while it will streak but after 15-20 times across it gives an even clean again...
