  1. yup xplorx4 has it right, and i need to take mine apart this weekend and align them since i didnt do it correctly and cannot get my toe correct...as far as where the arrows go when installing the strut to the truck, the bolts are spaced at different interval so the strut only works one way, so there is no thinking about where those arrows go
  2. yup...i took a 2 lb sledge and found a good place to site the upper strut mount on so the spring doesn't absorb the shock and it took two whacks per bolt
  3. im assuming you meant 4.4 not 44, but that is still a HUGE number...definitely let us know about the results and if you need any help with the pathy shoot me a pm...ill be doing some work to mine this weekend
  4. I can tell you a muffler and a resonator are certainly not the same thing. The muffle on the VG33 is the first of the two muffler looking pieces, the rectangular one. The round muffler lookalike is actually your resonator...I think a 2.5 inch tip is as big as I would go on any vehicle, but thats all personal preference...
  5. How exactly did you come by this muffler over all of the others? It sounds like a great test, let us all know. BTW: what exactly does that scangauge allow you to do? and how much did that cost you? And that is why when I went to Max's I drove my sister's CRV, 27mpg and I sat in two hours of traffic in Deleware...
  6. What made you go with that setup vs. having the flex pipe 4 inches to the left in an existing hole in the bumper?
  7. Well, thanks to Dean for the bright idea, I took the old part number published on his site and called rancho with that number and asked for the new number. It is RS999010XL. Anyone who wants the longer shocks for their lifted truck can search for that part number.
  8. Also, does anyone know if any of the rough country brand shocks will work on the R50? http://www.roughcountry.com/shocks-stabilizers.htm
  9. Anyone at all...I was hoping to buy the shocks this weekend but now 4x4parts.com won't tell me the part number so I can't look for them cheaper...
  10. Do you still have the tool kit under the rear seat? Those extensions are designed for changing the plugs...
  11. If it makes you happy pup...so noone knows?
  12. Before anyone gets all uppity, I searched multiple times trying to find the info. I am going to purchase the longer length Rancho shocks that work on the R50, but cannot find a model number anywhere. Can anyone simply throw the model number out there for me so I can search for that particular product? I'm fairly certain they are the new R9000X (or similar notation) with the adjustable settings and all. The only info I found was for the old model RSX9000 which is no longer in production. And maybe if anyone knows of a place that has them for a good price that would also be appreciated... thanks, mike
  13. So I removed the sway bar completely and the clunking is gone...can I buy new connecting links after the lift? I don't want to buy them and have the same problem...
  14. I would think it would run rough if it was a bad injector...and loss of power? The engine runs silky smooth right now... also, the light went off when I started the truck up to make the trip home, what do you guys make of that?
  15. So i already know its for random misfiring. My first line of fixing this is going to be replacing: plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Is there anything else I should check as a popular cause of this? My engine has 123k on it and I have no idea what was done to it before 105k when I got it. Thanks for all your help. Mike
  16. We can understand You may lose some high speed cornering stability, but pathfinders aren't exactly race cars anyway. By using the spacer your truck will look more level which is what most people like. I have not hear anything about the spacers making the body weaker and logistically they should not make it weaker since the same amount of metal is in contact with the body on the spacer as would be with the upper strut mount. The only drawback I have heard is that Dean (xplorx4) pointed out that with the spacers installed the angle that the CV axle will be at under full extension is past its rated angle which could lead to CV axle failure.
  17. Pathfinders, as with most SUV's have a naturally lower stance in the front to make them handle better. The addition of a one inch spacer will make the front and the rear as close to even as possible. As far as taking the upper strut mount bolts out, simply take a 2lb sledge to them and give them a couple firm whacks. Also, you will want longer new bolts to accommodate the spacer, just make sure you stick with grade 8 SAE or metric 10.6(?) hardware.
  18. This is what it looks like The most I have seen them is 1 inch thick, which is what mine are. You use longer bolts and install them between the upper strut mount and body.
  19. The last line says: Attention! Your number is not present in the database, the nearest known numbers are selected. The data is not completely accurate and my differ 1-2 months
  20. slick stuff...i can read and speak russian just not fluently
  21. unless you are looking for a diesel part since noone here knows if the diesels changed from 96-99, but any other part you can pick any year
  22. the only options ive heard of are replacing your current bushings with poly ones or buying new revised control arms from the dealer...
  23. whats the VIN number? i think all VINs have the last two digits of the year in it somewhere
  24. what you have? what you want? I just wanted a picture reference since i wasn't even aware of this, i second you though, the 00-01 style is a better look
  25. I use the mobil1 extended performance filter in my pathfinder, the oil is slightly dirty now at 4k, so i think i will give it a look at 5k and maybe go to 6k...thanks for all that good info
