VQ35 Power Valve Riddle (w/ answer)
laxman0324 replied to IncidentalOffroader's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
You want to go to auto? I think you could find someone somewhere who would love to have a VQ35 manual and trade you their auto...If you wanted a VG33 auto Id be all over it :tonguefinger: -

laxman0324 replied to libd's topic in 2005-2012 R51 Pathfinders
My old accord did the same thing, it was the tire balance. Whens the last time you had them balanced? -
Am i the only person whos gonna keep their stock rims? I like the ones that came with the SE and Dean said they are wide enough to fit the 31's

question about oil filter access with front skid plate
laxman0324 replied to FUELER's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Sounds to me like youd kill the whole point since you just added a place for it to get caught up on...id just take it off every time -
How bout this...get a landcruiser and we can trade? You already have the lift and all for an R50
-
Wow that is a nice on, I love that color...id love to have that VQ with a 5 speed, idk about my VG33 though, a little weak for me with a stick
-
Now THATS my kind of vacation :tonguefinger:...just wish the gf would like those kind of vacations...
-
how bout this...go landcruiser and then we can trade? one a more serious note, i really like the VG but the power of the VQ is pretty amazing...is changing a tbelt really that big of a deal to you? I know its a hassle but for me its just more time i get to work on the truck, which is why i love all my vehicles...i get emotional when talking about my cars i know
-
hey uncc...like the stars and bars much? :tonguefinger:
-
Its because pathfinders get ZERO love from aftermarket suppliers...If you go rancho get higher quality ones, ive heard the 5000's are garbage...Ive never heard a bad thing about Bilsteins, they are just very stiff and unforgiving in the city...and if they have KYB's for yours I would look into that, I love the KYB's on my 97 And welcome to NPORA...we need more R51 members to join and start making those things badass
-
Thats all great info...I love the KYB on my 97 and will get them again when these die...Im interested in this spicer kit so please put up a review of the spicer kit.

How many miles can I get on my engine/trans?
laxman0324 replied to sigtauenus's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Ive never heard of anything less then 60k for tranny service...I hope mine was done but Im doing ALL fluids this summer and doing full synthetic on everything i can...Mine is at 115k with me having no knowledge of how the previous owner(s) treated this truck, but it runs strong and the transmission is nice and smooth except when cold. As a side note, do any of you believe in adding those tranny stabilizer fluids in your tranny? Ive been considering it since they arent that much... -
Well what shop do you go to for alignments? If I can get away with one id like to try but Id rather go to someone I know is good...make a day trip out of it...btw:what part of MD are you located in? I live up by Bel Air but go to UMD at College Park
-
Wow they certainly seem impressive, but it seems like all of theirs are for cars...might shoot them an email for pricing. How much did yours cost and then how much was shipping? Also, they said they will custom make any coils, so it might be worth it to see what kind of estimate they could come up with...
-
No offense but when they say not to question them i wouldnt even consider it
-
Thanks a lot rod...i must have clicked on something else on their site that wasnt the right part, it was called strut mount.
-
Im getting AC springs. I figured after I get the lift installed after a week or two ill get the alignment done and give them to the alignment shop to install. Thanks for all the advice. And Vengeful: you mean 2 pairs, not 4 pairs right? They are sold in pairs for 18 bucks, and 4x4parts.com said you needed two pairs. Thanks for all your help. Now does anyone have a good place to get the strut bearings? 50 a piece is a good amount and Im hoping i can find them a little bit cheaper
-
Awesome. The 59 bucks covers both sides or do you need two of them, one for each side?
-
Which one? They have two different kinds there...one says up to three degrees positive camber and the other says up to 2 + or -
-
Just call 4x4parts.com and get the part number from them then hunt for the correct parts. Does anyone know which of the two strut bearings he listed above are better? And Typhus, where did you find those?
