  1. Dean, are yours longer struts? If so what kind are they? Im looking into the AC lift and would like to have longer struts if possible without a lot of custom work.
  2. Well how many miles do you have on the current plugs/wires? It could be whats causing the problem
  3. thats not necessary...nothing wrong with having a little fun online...ive said my share of retarded things, but if you did that it would make me look really stoooopid
  4. And your our trusted moderator? jk, i kinda wish mine had disks too
  5. Good point. Ive been considering some steelies but i think 31x10.50 will fit on the SE rims after i lift it 2 inches and with a little heat gun work
  6. kind of related...50 mph gusts in maryland going down I95 at 60-70 with the death wobble...one of the most terrifying experiences of my life... My dad was by that huge 68 car pileup in PA, he has an Excursion with the V10, he tanked right through all that snow with no problem with BFG rugged trails
  7. right now all i have is jumper cables and gloves, but i will have a tow strap in there soon with some other random things. Just a side note, what do some of you have 4-ways in there for? Theres a perfectly good lug wrench under the rear seat.
  8. Ok, thats good to hear. I was still planning on only doing one side at a time, but i think i will put the rear wheels on blocks or ramps, just so its easier to get too. All i need to do is get a couple new nuts and bolts for the mounting points. Thanks guys
  9. Well i got the poly bushings from 4x4parts.com. Im going to tackle at least the lowers next weekend, but i was wondering about one thing. I know someone had said they bought the hydraulic press from harbor freight, and we were considering doing the same. Do you all think a 12 ton press will be enough? And would i need an adapter in order to press the bushings out and in or will the press itself be wide enough? And also, Im really wondering if I could do this with the rear wheels on blocks? Has anyone done this or know if that will be better. I mean when I think about it the control arms dont support any weight or really stabilize while the truck is immobile right? Thanks, Mike
  10. When taking the control arms off, did u jack up the rear and take the wheels off? I thought i read somewhere that if you put the rear wheels on blocks so you can get under there it wont be hard to line up the control arm with the axle?
  11. For the chrome you would have to etch it and prime it, or strip it down to the plastic underneath, if its plastic. There are special primers for plastic that you can use.
  12. did they just say the V6 in that truck was a DOHC? Its cool that they are rebuilding it...but i think it would be cooler to see a crate motor dropped in edit: nvm looks like they are putting in a new engine...oh well
  13. I wouldn't do it, the problem is your going to have to spend more money and time on the process then it is worth when you can simply buy the black caps for almost nothing if you do enough searching. And even if you did paint it, I wouldn't leave the bumper on the car, or the caps on the bumper honestly. If you do decide to paint it, JJ had it covered, clean, etch, prime, paint, and seal are the steps you need to follow...Im not sure about the s/g though, our bumpers are flat and im not sure the s/g would look right, but thats up to you.
  14. Honestly what Ive read says maybe 1 inch out of an ironman lift, so i dont think it will look much different like that. The camber bolts are only for a true 2 inch lift, but some people didnt even need them. Even with the 2 inch springs and 1 inch spacers, the only part you need to worry about for strain is the cv axles. Manual hubs will take care of that if you leave them unlocked unless you need 4wd. I should mention that the struts may top out over speed bumps and such before they settle, but its not harmful. Just make sure u get an alignment after a couple of weeks.
  15. Ive always used Mobil1 in my vehicles...My Mercedes had Mobil1 full synthetic in every component and every mechanical component was still running strong after 230k, its the electrical problems that killed me...ill look into the amsoil though, never hurts to try something new
  16. You have to use stock length suspension, as far as I know from the sticky's, there are no longer shocks or struts for the lift...let us know how much lift you really get
  17. Ok, If i go synthetic I am going synthetic on everything though, diffs, tcase, engine oil, so that couple dollars per quart adds up. Time to start saving
  18. Thats not a question, until it dies of natural causes, i always do preventative maintenance. I was more worried about some leaks springing up going to synthetic as Ive heard of...how much more does it cost per quart?
  19. ahhh...makes sense. I have an auto so ill stick with ATF, any point in spending the money on synthetic fluids for a 110k truck?
  20. man they look good...do you know of any parts websites for NZ Terranos only? maybe one of those have it. We have those taillights, but we have the chrome ones, too much bling for me
  21. Probably 1k total, I don't know of any xenon headlights are more then 1k apiece...and they might be halogen projectors he converted into xenon...Well I really like the look of those and figured I would give it a shot, so if any of you NZ owners happen to find a set, give me shout...
  22. I have the best of everything for your rig and im 50/50 with the helicopter pad. My stats are ranked at 380ish for each of those. I have the phaser cannon and light force shield, but all of my stats are ranked around 420 so i still suck, but im at level 151...just sucks waiting for my will to recharge...sitting on my 15 will bottles until i get a nuke shop,,,got my 1st r&d right now
  23. And to add to that, i have a 97, will the newer steering wheels fit on my year? Or is there any way to smooth out the part thats wearing away? Mine has the leather wheel, but instead of wearing away like my dads Ford, my wheel is like crumbling apart, and on hot days it leaves a residue on my hands. I don't mind just smoothing it out, i just hate the feel of it all crumbled away.
  24. Maybe we should do a sticker thing for NPORA, i hate stickers on cars, but I want one for the forum pretty bad. Anybody know how to make this possible? Let's show our pride and support, especially the few of us in MD (the greatest state btw).
