Wheres can i punch through the fire wall?
PathyDude17 replied to Strato_54's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
You can go up through the gap in the back of the hood and just run it into your door from there, no need to punch holes. But it’s not the cleanest look to have wires exposed when you open the door -
I guess I'm one of you now.

If you’re gonna get longer shocks, go as big as you can. You’re 2WD, so you need as much articulation in the rear as possible. Even on my 29.7” shocks I probably still have another 2” I could get out of my suspension. I still flex out of traction on trails as is. -

It has facelift wheels, same ones I had before I got new ones -
She looks good! Really beefy. The bumper deletes and black trim is pretty awesome

installed a CB radio and antennae. Cheap uniden unit off of amazon and a 4 ft firestik antennae on the roof rack. Built a crude swivel mount (thanks @micahfelker for the brainstorming help) with clevis pins so that it can lock at a 90* angle or fold down for parking in the garage. I stuffed the actual radio in between my driver seat and center console, it sits almost flush with the level of the seat, then I can swivel it up for a better look at the buttons. I also did my power valve screws, they were all still there! Thanks @02_Pathy and @Astrorami for the help. -
I’ve been through some JY’s and talked with @micahfelker about it. I’m sure you can find some online for order, they should be able to check fitment (Amazon, Carid, etc). If you want oem check eBay, or hit up someone who frequents a junkyard (like me haha).

Facelift step bars are not compatible with pre facelift. They have different mounts

I mean, if you can weld, a proper pair of rock sliders is less than $300. Otherwise check a pull a part or pay 1-200 to buy something online
-
I BARELY got them on brand new, gave my arm a workout. According to @02_Pathy, you’re best bet is to connect bottom bolt first then push down from the top, although I’m living proof that it can be done the other way. Orientation is boot down for the most effective draining, but I run opposite cause I like seeing the chrome. I’ve seen other vehicles do the same

Sliders can’t come soon enough. Found another cool trail in South Idaho today

Max tire size VS Lift Kit Used VS Custom or OE Wheels

AC coils in the front, Land Rover NRC9449 Coils, 32x11.5 tires, 15x8 rims with 3.75 backspacing. Front trimming required, tire fully tucks in the rear. -

Ish. It’ll be a tube bumper design. I’m fine with it turning out to be a little more. I’ve got some designs I like, but I’m thinking a front locker may come before a bumper. It’s a little ways out before I’ll pull the trigger on either -

Sliders go on July 1, local fab shop is two weeks out. Gusset kit arrived yesterday. I could also see them making me a front bumper here soon, I was quoted about $350. Also working towards getting my own mid skid plate made. -

Purchased mounts for the sliders, going to have a local shop do the job. Cleaned my throttle body and MAF, which took care of a recent warm start stalling issue I had, same as @Bax03SE. Also may have tightened up my shifting? That or placebo effects got the best of me. Next up Power valve screws and CV axles (torn boots). I also have a sleeve on my rack and pinions that is torn, which @02_Pathy is highly recommending that I fix. -
I guess it’s all about what you want. Some of the Toyota guys I know avoid body lifts as much as they can and just cut cut cut. Throw in a diff drop and cut some more. I think they’re trying to keep their centers of gravity as low as possible, they’re mostly worried about suspension clearance and then let their armor take care of their body clearance issues. But if it’s about nailing down the correct look than ya you’re gonna have to throw on an SFD. SFD equipped pathfinders are the best looking rigs around
-
It doesn’t take 6” of lift to fit 33’s
-
Tub the firewalls and throw on 33’s. Your suspension lift is maxed out.

Land Rover rear lift spring install
PathyDude17 replied to Bax03SE's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Extend brake lines if you’re adding shocks that are over 26”. The longer shocks are what will stretch your brake lines, as they are the main limiting factor in axle droop. You should get longer shocks with your lift, the common 5100’s are 26”, but me, @02_Pathy and @micahfelker are on the 29.7” 5100’s and all use or are going to use (Micah) extended brake lines. -
@02_Pathy let me lead the way and probably ate dust. He’s a trooper alright. So much fun meeting people in real life. Him and Micah are great guys
