Alright. Ya I’ve definitely heard that using a relay is the right way to do this stuff. Thanks for both of your input! @Slartibartfast thanks for the video, and I’m going ahead with name brand LED’s with an IP69 rating.

I was just hoping someone had tried something like this before. Guess I’ll be the first to know!

Haha same, gonna start studying Civil engineering next year in college. Well thanks for the start, I’ll probably figure out the rest with my friend, who is much more electrically adept. I’ll keep the thread updated if I install this after all.

Regardless of location, the important question is whether or not I can tap into the existing wire that goes to the dome light.

True, though if I understand what you're saying, you still wouldn't have any light available when getting in the car. Also, I'm already going to have to go from the outside of the car to the inside with the reverse light, so I'm not sure how much more work it would save to keep the rock lights inside

The idea is lighting up the ground when getting in and out of the vehicle. Some new cars come with a light that does this, so I wanted to see if I could rig my own setup

As a Christmas break project, I'm considering adding an Led Backup light and a pair of rock lights. For the rock lights specifically, I want to be able to get them to come on when I unlock the car (key less entry). The lights are only .35 Amps and 9 Watts each. Does anyone know if I can hook these up to the stock wiring for the dome light without any issues? Or is there a simpler place to access that wire and achieve the desired effect?

I guess so, but they have a pretty good warranty and reviews. Direct plug in play (comes with all necessary adapters and wiring). Only thing I had to do was widen the hole of the rubber boot that goes on the backside of the housing, and fiddle with those metal clips a little

https://www.carid.com/2003-nissan-pathfinder-led-lights/lumen-led-headlight-conversion-kit-334375141.html 4000 lumen, 6500k. The color is nice and they don’t seem to be blinding. Although, I may need to tilt my headlights down slightly (currently have a 2.5” lift)

They are “lumen” lights off of carid.com.

I haven't seen much on the forum for people replacing their headlights with LED's, so I thought I might show mine off. Just put them in tonight, and they put my old halogens to shame.

Hello all, pretty new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could Offer some advice to my current situation. I got a pathfinder recently and have been roaming this forum a ton concerning all the lift kit info you guys have already discussed. That’s been incredibly useful. Given my budget, I ended up purchasing the 2.5”-3” spacer lift offered by sfcreations. It’s a great product, and I had my local shop install it. That being said, I’ve currently run into an issue. On my driver side, I have a cv boot that is leaking considerably. I occasionally hear clicking on sharp turns or full throttle, but nothing terribly concerning or frequent. But, I discovered yesterday that the coil spring on my driver side is unseated from it’s bottom mount- some of it is on the plate, but it hangs out over the fitting in some spots. Is that enough to explain the busted cv boot? The passenger side has held up fine so far.
