    Nearest Radio shack for me 2-3 hours. Ordering online is a mess too. I wanted minimum 5A diodes, ended up finding 10A 100V ones on ebay. Took me a couple days though.

    I know exactly what you mean when it comes to finding diodes..... they're difficult to sort out. Wiring is a joy, isn't it? Cool project though!

    Yep, any aftermarket stereo will require an adapter to maintain function of your steering wheel controls.

    Alright. I've been ordering parts this weekend (I'm realizing that tubing, wire, switches, relays, and diodes add up... *sigh*), and hopefully I'll put together a high resolution diagram for you all.

    I wish I could get a better picture to load. If that is the case, I could use the sub. I know however, that if I supply power to the lights from the dome light, they'll definitely turn on when I want them to. So now what I'm thinking is that I'll tap both the sub and the dome light as power sources. It may take some experimentation upon install

    No sooner do I post this then see my own error. I can't use the subwoofer as the power source for my relay if i desire to use this with keyless entry. I'll have to pick a different power source such as the dome light line, which we already established can handle up to 54W

    I apologize for terrible photo quality, but for anyone interested, this is the wiring schematic that I'm planning on following. A relay that can be triggered by the dome and OEM reverse lights or manually powered. I already have a high current wire running to my sub-woofer, so I'm planning on powering the entire circuit off of that, as well as putting diodes on the taps into the reverse and dome wires. Using a SPDT switch, i should be able to turn on the rock and backup light when 1. Anytime the sub-woofer can be powered (Acc/on) OR 2. Whenever power is supplied to my OEM backup lights or the dome light AND the switch is in the bottom "on" position. Also, this way I can have the lights all manually turned off. Simply tapping into the existing wiring would not have given me that option. As far as I can tell, this is a viable way to wire my lights, but I'd value any input where I've gone wrong or could improve upon this setup.

    Added 3 quarts of engine oil to my car, apparently it burns oil. It’s only been 3k miles since my last oil change, but the dipstick was entirely dry when I checked this morning. Also scored a deal on some kc lights for my backup light project

    When all it takes is $4 and few hours of work, I can’t see a reason not to do it.

    Yep! 3/4” EMT. I used a vice one time on each end to flatten out about 3” per side. I also painted it, but couldn’t get a picture of it into my post

    As a follow up, I went through on this approach to the missing link. Definitely added some sturdiness to my ride, and I’m very pleased with it for what it cost

    Re-post my question in case it got lost... I have to buy extra wire to set all this up, would I be correct to purchase 14 gauge? The amp capacity on that wire should just exceed my power needs, whereas it looks like 16 gauge will be really close or below.

    As I understand the website, you only order bolts if you’re adding to an existing spacer. Should come with the bolts that work. You can pm @fleurys or contact him on his website to confirm.

    I don't have access to a shop press, would a bench vise be sufficient? What's the best workaround for that?

    depends what you want? you can level it out, add whatever height you want front and back. Bolts come with it if you order sfcreation. I also would be careful ordering big spacers. front spacers at or above 2" (2.5" lift) may cause problems with your CV's
