  1. Hmmmm, tough choice. Gotta say I like the background on the second one
  2. That might look even better in a TOTM frame......
  3. Yeah that part of it was explained earlier in this thread. Seeing as I don’t take short trips and my residue is a lot closer to what a blown head gasket looks like, I’m kinda concerned
  4. Almost all of my driving is about 20-30 minutes in the car, highway and freeway. I put in about a quart of conventional oil ever 1000 miles to keep it level.
  5. Thoughts? This looks pretty similar to the example pic posted earlier.
  6. Thats about how I see it. If you get there first I'd be interested to see how you like the setup
  7. Thanks for the clarification. I hadn't thought about how weight might affect the height of each. But at least in theory, and assuming minimal to no front load over stock, AC + 1/2" spacer would have the same height as OME + 1" spacer, similar or more load bearing capacity, lower CV droop with lower chance of binding, and almost identical alignment difficulty.
  8. Hmmm, I haven’t dug into mine ore any at a junkyard. I guess I was just basing it off of looks, what with the big rails and crossbars. They’re probably rated for similar loads, so what you said makes sense
  9. I was wondering about that. You think AC coils are taller than the popular OME/Spacer setup? I was thinking AC and a .5” spacer would be the same height as the OME/spacer
  10. https://forums.nicoclub.com/topic563777.html
  11. Very nice to hear! I was uncertain of the strength of the design, but when I put it on and immediately felt less body roll I knew I was on the right track. Good to hear that sentiment reiterated
  12. It hits while turning in reverse. The rest of the trimming was easy
  13. Perfect explanation. I currently have cheaped out and gone with spacers only to realize that I wanted to be able to go off road if and when I wanted to. Not to mention spacers occasionally gave me small cv clicking on road, before I got manual hubs to disengage then. Now I wish I had Springs, and will eventually swap to them
  14. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/profile/41900-pathydude17/ Thanks! Approximately 2.5” in the front and 3 in the back. Still dialing in the trimming. There’s some metal in the rear of the front fender well that needs to get bent or cut
  15. Think about how high you’d have to lift it just to go up a tire size. The wheel wells almost curve back around under the tire. And that factory “skid plate” looks like an absolute must given the ground clearance. They probably had to tow it on a trailer out to that spot to get the picture
  16. Yep, this setup has been used frequently enough to give it some decent backing. @mjotrainbrain Used it, though he had a heavy front bumper. @micahfelker uses HD coils with a .75” spacer and also has a custom front bumper. People have tried to do AC coils with a 1” spacer, but the results in that were far more varied. Way more issues with camber and binding. I’m not sure if anyone has blown a CV with the OME and 1” spacer. The other idea that’s been infrequently circulated around the forum is only dropping the front diff by an inch or less. Few have done it, and for those who have, few details have been given. But I’d guess for anyone dead set on a 3” lift, a custom diff drop would have to be in order as opposed to fighting camber and CV issues.
  17. Look at the paint chipping on the front fender, hazy tail lights. I'd be interested to see how the paint and wheels do or don't shine in the sunlight. Also looks like front passenger seat has a hole in it
  18. @my 2WD 4runner. Kinda defeats the name. One of my teamates called it a 2runner
  19. That Q is alright. The '97 LE is 2WD, but maybe thats all you need
  20. I should also mention that this is my family’s 3rd pathfinder. We’ve had a pre facelift and an 03 LE, both R50’s. None of them ever gave us any engine trouble, though they both were in the family for 2 years or less (my dad has twice tried to live without a pickup. It hasn’t worked)
  21. Pathfinder: Clean, Powerful, comfortable. Definitely an easier and smoother ride. It’s more fun to drive and has a nicer interior. It doesn’t look as masculine as the 4runner, which is really my only complaint. 4runners last forever, and pathfinders are similarly reliable. 4runner is body on frame, which accounts for the tougher ride (I think). 4runner has a larger aftermarket, but that may or may not be important to you. I replaced mine because it was 2WD, and I really would’ve been happy to end up with either, although I admit that getting my pathfinder for half the price of a 4runner was awesome, as it allowed me to customize my car more to the way I liked it. Either I was gonna end up with a stock 7k 4runner, or I got lucky and got mine for 3.5k with a branded title (all that was damaged was front bumper cover). So, I don’t know that you can go wrong with either one as long as they’ve been taken care of. Though I haven’t owned my pathfinder long enough to equate the drivetrain reliability with that of my 4runners, though I’m pretty confident it’ll turn out similarly
  22. https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/nampa-1999-nissan-pathfinder/6787821681.html If you’re willing to drive to Idaho..... haha
  23. Has anyone retrofitted the late model OEM SE roof racks onto a pre-facelift? I feel like that’s the stoutest roof rack system
  24. As everyone else has said, 4K would be better. They sell around here for 3-4 with that mileage or less. It’s a nice rig, but 5 is pushing it. If that’s all I could find I’d buck up a few thousand dollars and get a 4runner at that mileage.....
  25. You can lift the front and rear independently of eachother. Generally, without an SFD, the front maxes out at somewhere around 2-2.5”.
