1) Bad blower motor relay (could also be frozen with the cold) It is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the wiper motor under a black rectangular cover. I would start here. 2) Bad blower Motor 3) Bad blower motor switch Replace the climate control assembly. Costs about $75 and takes about 3 hours.

They wanted to make you think the vehicle was about to explode so you and turn it off.

Is the vehicle suffeciently warmed up? The tranny fluid needs to warm up a little before it will funny engage the overdive.

No you shouldnt feel it grab doing turns like that at parking lot speeds. You will notice it more on wet/ice when you take a curve a little fast, you will feel one side 'grab' as it gains traction around the turn.

I thought that is where on Non-US models the optical sensor for the daytime running lights was mounted.

Sounds like a classic case of the back door pin is loose or worn out. It is located inside the back lift door behind the finish panel, about dead center. Mine did the exact same thing yours did wihen I rolled the driver window down 1inch. Have seen this come up many times on here.

Good job! Very nice and clean job mounting the gauge. I like that. I added oil pressure, auto trans temp and volts a few years ago almost the exact same way. Still thinking of adding oil temp, diff temp and exhaust temp one day just....because I can.

A vacuum booster uses vacuum pressure from the engine to boost the amount of pressure going to the brakes. The check valve on vacuum booster regulates the amount of pressure in the booster. If the valve is malfunctioning or clogged, the booster will produce an insufficient amount of pressure to the brakes. It is located on the rubber hose mounted to teh firewall going from the brake booster to the engine.

Block heaters were an add on accessory. There were two different versions, one for 2WD and one for 4WD vehicles. Both have been discontinued for some time but I might be able to still get them. PM me if you are interested and I can see what it would cost. Let me know if your vehicle is 4wd or 2wd.

I have seen the pictures they are sent to us dealers. I was very unimpressed with the new design. Like all ofther SUVs the once stought and rugged Patrol has gone to a large overpriced luxury vehicle. It will be 4 wheel independant suspension. The chassis, 4wd and suspension is almost exactly the same as the TA60 Armada. (IIRC it is the same frame as the Titan/Armada) It has a back door similar in design to the Nissan CUBE and more or less looks like a R51 pathfinder from the front. The 4.0L inline turbo diesel engine did sound nice though, but thats probably for Australia and NZ only. We couldnt be that lucky in the US.

I had to replace mine back in the summer of 08. Ended up it had rust on the inside and would not move completly back and forth. So did the EGR valve when I pulled it at the same time. Fixed my idle problem though. It was doing 2500 rpm at start up in texas in the summer.

the sound that sounds like a small pig caught in a lawnmower is the pulley.

I will just say that people like power seats until they brake and have to buy parts. They especially dont like them if they are leather. Ask someone with an R50 or R51 how much it is to replace just the power seat motor...........

IIRC there are 4 grounds in the cabin, one behind each front kick panel, one in the rear passenger side and one in the center under the console. There are 3 in the engine bay, one off the battery, one on the manifold and one on the driver side firewall. (I think, been awhile) However, the Blower, AC and Headlamps go off replays on the passenger side of the engine bay near the wiper motor. With the vehicle off, pop the cover to the relays, pull them one at a time and start looking there for anything like rust, corrosion or frayed wires. Other more common thing other owners have had on these older vehicles is the stalk or combination switch connectors getting corroded or loose and the headlamps not woorking. Simple clean and fix. Wipers go off a fuse under the driver side dash.

I looked at replacing the wires on mine but the corrosion I could see was at the base of the horn where the wires go into it, so there was nothing to solder, splice or connect to. So I just replaced it. New one was like $25.

Green light should be cruise control. Amber should be trans mode.

Sounds like you are making progress. The LED staying on for 30 seconds then starting a slow flash means it is arming correctly. The siren not working is not surprising since it has been exposed to the elemets in the engine bay for 15+years. You have some corroded wiring to it more than likely. Replace it and you should be in business. Mine would chirp every so often because of this, replaced it and it is noisy now. You front and rear parking lamps should flash now as well when you arm and disarm it.

One of two things are happening: 1) condensation/water in the distributor cap 2) water in the spark plug galleries for the distributor cap, get some white lithium grease. Remove the distributor cap and lightly grease the outside lip of the distributor cap. Dont get any on the inside of the cap. Preferrably do this when there is low humidity. for the spark plug wire galleries, get some spark plug grease. It comes in a small package. remove the spark plug wires one at a time and lightly coat the top of the spark plugs and reattach the spark plug wires. Doing both of these a can of wire drier might not hurt either to get rid of any condensation/water. spray the distributor cap, spark plug galleries with it and let dry for about 10 mins. Do this when the engine is cold. If you are missing your side or lower engine splash shields you should replace them if they are missing to also help avoid this in future if this is a stock daily driver. Also make sure the boots on both ends of each of the spark plug wires and distributor to ingition coil wire are snug and secure.
