  1. Mine has little plastic caps over the screw heads that are flush with the panel. You need to pop these off. Maybe its different on your year?
  2. Um, try leaving the city. There are quite a few unlit signs once you get into the sticks.
  3. I've seen full setups pulled from cars on ebay for like $50-100.
  4. I wish I could worry about lifts and such at that age. Back then, all my time and $$ was spent just trying to keep the thing running and going down the road. I failed at that in the long run, though. Stupid-sunuva-Mitsubishi-POS. :furious: That left a bad taste toward working on cars for several years. Now, if I want to fix it or work on something, I do. If I have to work on it cause it breaks, I usually take it to the shop.
  5. I've seen HID set-ups for pretty cheap on ebay, usually from smashed Audi's/Beemers, etc. Wonder what it would take to retrofit.
  6. Well, you're half way there with dad. Besides, there are worse things that you could be "rebelling" against that lifting your truck. At least you're not on crack! (Hopefully...)
  7. Go for it. Maybe she won't notice.
  8. Jeeze! You'd think you had a special order shipped to Russia or something. That's crazy. On a randomly associated thought, has anyone tried fitting HID lights into a Pathy. I was almost considering the idea looking at various HID set-ups available on ebay and such. I know it requires some heavy wiring and such, but darn.
  9. Just reaching here, but could it be a fuel issue as he stated? Maybe an issues of things in the fuel system drying out after 2 weeks of being parked on a hill? Clogged injection? Did you just refill with gas before parking (if so, anywhere out of ordinary)? Basically, what did you do just before parking, and was there anything unusual to the routine? I'm just trying to establish any baseline to go off of. I don't imagine a sensor or something is randomly gonna decide to go out on you. Pull your codes, then maybe run some fuel system cleaner and such and try to run it out. Guys, back me up here with any knowledge.
  10. Just a quick post in the middle of things. I tried to get a few local shops to cut them down, but none would have it. I wasted a heavyduty blade in my jigsaw in an admittedly "what if" attempt at the Jeep GC springs. Then I hit the local hardware store. Got a 3 pack of cutoff disks/grinders with the center attachment for $10 that are compatible with my $20 on sale Walmart 3/8 drill. Cuts the springs well. Not like butter, but maybe 10 min per side. Not bad! Got a clean, cheap cut. Just another *motivation* shot at people. Give it a shot and play with your Pathfinder. I'll post pics soon, as I'm throwing a coat of red Plasti-Dip to match my Sway-Away T bars.
  11. I'd say that's a very decent price around here. I got mine 2+ years ago down in Puyallup for $7500, and that was a bit under book at the time with 100k miles. You can't go wrong for $3000 if its in even just "decent" shape.
  12. Nobody's arguing that. I'm just saying, the more mods, the faster your bank account shrivels up. I'm not about to trade in the 401K to squeeze out huge power. I've accepted slowness cause I don't have a coule thousand to blow on the Pathy right now. But knock yourself out if you can do it, and be sure to post what you do here!
  13. You can get in there by just removing the screws from the handle portion of the door, then gently prying under the panel on the bottom and sides to undo the little clips. Careful, they brake. Then slide the panel up and off the door (this part may require a bit of "motivation" to get the panel to move up). You may find more door panel info. if you search speaker installation, by the way.
  14. Well, people question me for using "High Mileage" oil too. I'll just sit on my soapbox anyways.
  15. Yup, I've had my old car stolen and broken into, along with a couple attempts on other's I've owned (luckily not the Pathy yet, knock on wood). If it is stolen, its a horrible feeling. Call it in to the police and let them do some REAL work for once, rather than just handing out tickets.
  16. You mean your shock is just floating around, not bolted at the bottom?! :o Nice workmanship! Boneyard time... that or go back to the mechanic and say :furious: and demand to have it replaced.
  17. I believe its wear on the clutch since its a friction piece. Like driving down the road with your emergency brake on. Not positive about the in/out of gear bit, but I think it still wears. Oh well, who cares what I know, I drive how I drive generally don't have problems.
  18. Yep, one area where the domestics are actually more user-friendly. A very rare thing indeed, though.
  19. LOL. If ya can't find 'em, grind 'em. I've driven sticks for years and have never killed one till now I think (135K miles). Just don't touch it unless you have too. Its amazing how many people will sit at a red light in gear, clutch in, waiting to go.
  20. Jim Wolf, that's the one I was thinking of. They only stuck in my head cause that's where I was born and lived as a kid.
  21. Be a good boy, walk away. Not worth the risk. Even if its abandoned legit, you're still stealing the parts. Nobody here wants to come up with bail money. :X
  22. But I believe you can't just put a chip in the Pathy, you have to yank the computer and send it in to have the new chip soldered in or something. That, or put down the deposit they're talking about. The ones I've seen are in that price range ($500). There's also a company out of El Cajon, CA (near San Diego) that specializes in Nissans, but I can't for the life of me remember the name.
  23. That's sweet, and even looks stock installed. Good job!
