I'd say your vibe is from the angle of your CV Sent from fat fingers on S6

Yes that would probably be the easiest way

Doesn't look to bad. But could be the pic Sent from fat fingers on S6

Something is dead and broken. I'd replace it. Sent from fat fingers on S6

Arcing when pulling the radio? You have a hot wire grounding out. Bad juju. If that keeps up it will drain your battery among many other bad things that can happen. I would find the source of the hot wire grounding the to chassis. Probably somewhere in the dash near the radio. Fix that, radio will probably work. Speakers wise, 6.5" if I remember correctly.

Good score. That really isn't a lot of work to be done. Typically of a ~200k miles Pathfinder. You need to do the Timing belt ASAP. Unless you have positive record of it recently being done. A full kit of every part to do when in there is about $300 from Alkorahil. Well worth it. Sent from fat fingers on S6

AC Lift strut failure cause steering issues?
Rebelord replied to tdurb1327's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Could be multiple things. But blown shocks wouldn't act like that. Check the tie rod ends and ball joints. While down there check the LA bushings. #1 possibility is he completely destroyed the rack and pinion bushings Sent from fat fingers on S6 -
I'd be worried about your CVs Sent from fat fingers on S6

Weigh your truck loaded down like you are for a off road trip. Then at a minimum 1.5x that. Thats your rating. For example, my 99 weighs 4900lbs loaded. 8000lbs would be my ideal winch. Which your probably about the same. So a 8k should be fine. Remember the rating is for a certain amount of wraps on the drum. When that changes, so does its rating. Of those, Rugged Ridge, Smittybilt, Mile Marker all use the same manufacture for their winches. Just do a few changes to liking and market them different. Warn is proprietary with their products. If you need a cheap disposable winch, I have seen the Harbor Freight 8k work wonders! Wait for the coupon in the mail, bamn $200 for a winch. Pay $50 for the 3yr replacement warranty. It breaks, swap it out at a store. The only issue with them is build a better relay box and water proof it. Tend to overheat the relays. Whether you use synthetic line for steel, both need maintenance on em. Keep the grime out. Keep em dry etc. Steel is very heavy. Synthetic can save you 100lbs on the front. May be cheaper to buy a winch with steel and swap to synthetic after.

You may be at you max limit. As the CVs and Tie rod ends will only allow the lower A arm to extend so far. Considering mine were at full droop and I only had to lift the lower assembly maybe a inch, if that to get the spindle to strut bolts in. What do your front CVs look like? \ instead of -- ?

Man that still has some rack to it! I did OME HD and 1" spacer up front only. I drove 45 miles so far today. Settled some. But the truck is pretty level. Sent from fat fingers on S6

The 4.8 is the same size as a LS1,2 5.3 6.0 6.2 etc. With the effort to put a 5.3 in. If you can find a 6.0 out of a wrecked Escalade. That would be hoss. All aluminum and 400hp. Even out of a GTO or G8 would work. But ppl jack up the price on those. The truck intakes are probably to tall. But putting a LSx car intake would work. Even a stock LS1/6 intake on a 5.3 would work. The main difference to remember is the truck blocks are mostly iron whereas the cars are aluminum except the Escalade 6.x. Sent from my Moto X

Cleaned the MAF and TB on the '04. Then had to do the whole pedal relearn and idle relearn. Didnt want to take at first. Couldnt figure out why. Then, realized the floor mat was keeping the pedal from actually bottoming out. Removed it, tried again. Voila! Worked!

It is possible. There are a few threads about it. Google search returns more. Check pcoa.org.au thats the Australian Pathfinder forum. Some info there, as they have those available.

Remember you can sometimes pull one from a junkyard ~$30 and rebuild yours. Mine kept shorting out the coil to the body.

4L60E is far from bullet proof. I'd much rather use a trans adapter and use a 3.5L transmission. Sent from my Moto X

Changed the oil on the '04. M1 Syn 5W-30 HM w/ M-110 filter.

All depends on how it's used also. One used on a mining facility will be more worn down than one driven by and older person just going to the store and such. For instance I ran into a gentleman the other day that has a '98 R50 2WD. 350k miles on it. Said he's kept up with the maintenance and plans to keep it going until he can't drive anymore. It was in remarkable shape. Sent from my Moto X

We didn't get those until after I EASd from the Corps. We had to improvise by making and welding plates when the IED became a huge threat. Sent from my Moto X

I'm assuming you dont have full coverage? Un-insured coverage usually covers this type of thing. With those creases, it will be hard to do with little body work experience. I would try to find one in a junk yard.

Read in the FSM. But I doubt it. Sent from my Moto X

Does anyone have their R50's corner weights?
Rebelord replied to jyeager's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Wouldn't work anyways. Would change strut angle so much. Thats why SFD spacers have a specific angle to the mount plates to keep geometry correct Sent from my Moto X -
As for mileage my 99 3.3l has 218k and going strong. I would find a good replacement. Swap parts over. Take old one in for recall. If deemed unsafe. Let Nissan buy it back. Profit? Sent from my Moto X
