  1. Weigh your truck loaded down like you are for a off road trip. Then at a minimum 1.5x that. Thats your rating. For example, my 99 weighs 4900lbs loaded. 8000lbs would be my ideal winch. Which your probably about the same. So a 8k should be fine. Remember the rating is for a certain amount of wraps on the drum. When that changes, so does its rating. Of those, Rugged Ridge, Smittybilt, Mile Marker all use the same manufacture for their winches. Just do a few changes to liking and market them different. Warn is proprietary with their products. If you need a cheap disposable winch, I have seen the Harbor Freight 8k work wonders! Wait for the coupon in the mail, bamn $200 for a winch. Pay $50 for the 3yr replacement warranty. It breaks, swap it out at a store. The only issue with them is build a better relay box and water proof it. Tend to overheat the relays. Whether you use synthetic line for steel, both need maintenance on em. Keep the grime out. Keep em dry etc. Steel is very heavy. Synthetic can save you 100lbs on the front. May be cheaper to buy a winch with steel and swap to synthetic after.
  2. You may be at you max limit. As the CVs and Tie rod ends will only allow the lower A arm to extend so far. Considering mine were at full droop and I only had to lift the lower assembly maybe a inch, if that to get the spindle to strut bolts in. What do your front CVs look like? \ instead of -- ?
  3. Man that still has some rack to it! I did OME HD and 1" spacer up front only. I drove 45 miles so far today. Settled some. But the truck is pretty level. Sent from fat fingers on S6
  4. The 4.8 is the same size as a LS1,2 5.3 6.0 6.2 etc. With the effort to put a 5.3 in. If you can find a 6.0 out of a wrecked Escalade. That would be hoss. All aluminum and 400hp. Even out of a GTO or G8 would work. But ppl jack up the price on those. The truck intakes are probably to tall. But putting a LSx car intake would work. Even a stock LS1/6 intake on a 5.3 would work. The main difference to remember is the truck blocks are mostly iron whereas the cars are aluminum except the Escalade 6.x. Sent from my Moto X
  5. Cleaned the MAF and TB on the '04. Then had to do the whole pedal relearn and idle relearn. Didnt want to take at first. Couldnt figure out why. Then, realized the floor mat was keeping the pedal from actually bottoming out. Removed it, tried again. Voila! Worked!
  6. It is possible. There are a few threads about it. Google search returns more. Check pcoa.org.au thats the Australian Pathfinder forum. Some info there, as they have those available.
  7. Remember you can sometimes pull one from a junkyard ~$30 and rebuild yours. Mine kept shorting out the coil to the body.
  8. 4L60E is far from bullet proof. I'd much rather use a trans adapter and use a 3.5L transmission. Sent from my Moto X
  9. Facelift Pathfinder, in a high speed chase with blown front tire. Goes a hell of a lot longer than I expected. Then rolls over. The fact that the guy gets out and looks around the way he did, for sure extremely drunk...at least the Pathfinder held up well? Here it is:
  10. Here: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/18653-genuine-nissan-parts/?p=315059 Call him, if he's not there. Call again. Most of the time he beats Courtesy's prices and shipping is better.
  11. Changed the oil on the '04. M1 Syn 5W-30 HM w/ M-110 filter.
  12. All depends on how it's used also. One used on a mining facility will be more worn down than one driven by and older person just going to the store and such. For instance I ran into a gentleman the other day that has a '98 R50 2WD. 350k miles on it. Said he's kept up with the maintenance and plans to keep it going until he can't drive anymore. It was in remarkable shape. Sent from my Moto X
  13. We didn't get those until after I EASd from the Corps. We had to improvise by making and welding plates when the IED became a huge threat. Sent from my Moto X
  14. I'm assuming you dont have full coverage? Un-insured coverage usually covers this type of thing. With those creases, it will be hard to do with little body work experience. I would try to find one in a junk yard.
  15. Read in the FSM. But I doubt it. Sent from my Moto X
  16. Did you puncture your oil filter? Sent from my Moto X
  17. Wouldn't work anyways. Would change strut angle so much. Thats why SFD spacers have a specific angle to the mount plates to keep geometry correct Sent from my Moto X
  18. As for mileage my 99 3.3l has 218k and going strong. I would find a good replacement. Swap parts over. Take old one in for recall. If deemed unsafe. Let Nissan buy it back. Profit? Sent from my Moto X
  19. It determine the input shaft speed of the transmission. Then there is another speed sensor in the rear. It uses the two input to determine shifts and stuff. If it goes out you'll know. Lights galore and tranny in limp mode. As it won't be able to tell input rpm. From what I've read you can let it go for quite awhile. But the leak will progressively get worse. I actually have a power train warranty that covers the tranny. For transmission anything that touches fluid is covered. Going to see if I can get it done that way. Otherwise I'll call a shop I know. Sent from my Moto X
  20. 6" spacer for rear would require a welded one. Otherwise you risk some funny movement and it possibly popping out. As for lift with stock ride. That can be achieved with OME springs. Most say they ride better than stock and handling is better. Those of use with IronMan springs love em. But getting those in the US is pretty hard atm. Sent from my Moto X
  21. Or valve cover gaskets leaking down. Sent from my Moto X
  22. Probably coming from front of oil pan to timing cover. All it uses is silicon for gaskets re did mine when I did my timing belt. Still seeping. Next oil change I'll clean it and shoot some silicone over it. Sent from my Moto X
  23. '97 3.3l doesn't have one. That's why you can't find it Sent from my Moto X
