  1. Yeah, learned that the hard way, But ,what do you think of the progress of Version 3.0? Any constructive criticism? -Kyle
  2. I got mine too!! (was going to post my packaging too, but i was so excited i forgot to cover my address! oops, its the same as above) Thanks again Steve! -Kyle
  3. He shouldn't have to worry about the timing CHAIN for at least another 150k,then you should worry about changing it or at least having it tensioned. And I forgot about the noise. With 50k I seriously doubt it's the control arms. A common problem that causes noise is the away bar links. Those are relatively inexpensive and are very easy to change. -Kyle
  4. Check the power valve screws so you can keep your non oil burning, beauty!! http://forums.nicoclub.com/threadlocker-on-power-valve-screws-pics-t304263.html?sid=f8e46364c79a896bc38fae744e90ac15 And going down your list, i get mobil 1 full synthetic every time, with the matching filter, but its up to you, i dont see a reason for high mileage, because well, your car is still NEW!! Sub and speakers, are easy, but not easy when you want to keep the factory head unit, i went for a full Alpine setup, and it works, but im so much of an audiofile, that when i get some spare cash, its get another overhaul, subs again, are easy, but not when you are trying to keep the factory head unit. Tires, are kind of like the oil, its personal preference, just get what will work best with your application. If you have a discount tire (or america tire it might be called on the east coast) head there, i have NEVER had a bad experience with mine, i love that company, if you tell them what you want, they can usually point you in the right direction, and if you dont like it, you can bring it back. A friend of mine has like an 08 dodge 3500 super duty dually, he has switched out 3 sets (of 6 tires mind you) of tires, without any complaints from the guys. Transmission: Id say have it looked at, since its 10 years old. If the color is good, and it feels normal (no hard shifts, stalling or taking a while to actually shift from gear to gear) id say its fine, but im NO auto expert, so maybe someone else can chime in with some wiser advice. But at the end of the day, my rule of thumb when buying a new car, IS CHANGE EVERYTHING, especially on higher mileage cars, just so you can have a reference point for when it was serviced, because there is no way to know when it was really serviced unless you did it yourself. Things to worry about: Already mentioned the power valve screws, what else, uh if you have the navigation, i guess those have a tendency to break and since its hooked into the climate control, that can be a little annoying, so just be ready i guess. If my memory serves me correct, it was anywhere between 2-4 grand to replace the entire unit, or, there was a guy a while back who went to a stock head unit and wired in a normal climate control unit. Best model: Oh yeah, the platinum is the model that Nissan usually send off each generation, before it gets replaced with the next gen. (not anymore as the newest pathfinder has a platinum package available right out of the gate) so you get EVERYTHING, nice leather, power, and heated seats, a special edition wood option, reworked center console, special gauge cluster (black instead of white), metal inserts in the door sill covers (have those on my 96, love the crap out of that). Thats all i have off the top of my head, but yeah, platinum is the one to have. PICS NOW!!!! -Kyle
  5. Okay, this is where i get a little embarrassed... ltsnotme was right, it lasted a couple of days before i came outside and found my headlights were on, all by themselves, i guess some water got down there and crossed one of the relay connections. I guess due to the crazy dry summer and the difference in relay position (much higher than version 2.0), is what attributed to version 1.0 lasting so long without any issues. So version 3.0 is in the works, project box bought, perfect grommets found, and waterproof connectors (that need a crazy expensive crimper) are on the way. While i have a HUGE pet peeve of doing things twice, i'm super excited to put that all of what version 2.0 had, into a 7x5x3 enclosure, hopefully just two grommets needed so i can minimize the need for potential areas for water to get it in. And while the project box i bought, was just the biggest of what Radio-shack had on hand, and isn't technically waterproof, (it does have a nice fit between cover and main box) i think i'm going to RTV the box together when its all said and done. -Kyle
  6. I was gonna say, it's LS's and diesels all day at KOH, lol -Kyle
  7. Tracking recieved. Thanks again Steve, can't wait to get my hands on it! -Kyle
  8. Well you first need to confirm that it's the A/C, does it smell of coolant or are you sure it's water? If you've already done that, it should be some sorta of drain (obviously). I can't say I've had to do this on my pathfinder. But when I parted out my buddies E30's, I saw the drain for the firewall cowel, I'd imagine it's much the same. But I'd imagine it's directly above the transmission, I know my A/C drains on the passenger side right where my missing link mounts. Or directly next to where the lower control arm mounts to the car. On the rear side of the mount. So maybe try and see if you find any calcium build up of where the water use to be. I know it's not that good of help, but that's where I'd start looking. -Kyle
  9. I'd say he was talking about a quart every 600 miles, i don't think anyone would be concerned if a 1/4 of a quart left that often.
  10. I would say no, my VG33 doesn't eat anything, other than my money, i'am honestly spoiled with how often i don't check my oil, i just change it regularly. -Kyle
  11. I know what you mean, but it still doesn't mean it's not a derogatory word. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jap -Kyle
  12. You do realize he didn't do anything other than ask questions? Please see this thread for wheel questions. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/19867-max-tire-size-vs-lift-kit-used-vs-custom-or-oe-wheels/page-7 But no, new nissan wheels are not the same bolt pattern or size. R50's use a 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern the new pathfinders and frontiers use a 5 on 5.5, and are not the correct size or backpacking. They make pattern converters that act as a spacer. Usually that does the trick. -Kyle
  13. Do you know specifically why they won't fit on R50's? Like steering shaft? -Kyle
  14. DANGIT, i thought this wasn't confirmed!!! Why do we add this to my mods list!! -Kyle
  15. Whats the plan for it then? Obviously a replacement, but if you're doing KOH, i would hope you are going to do something special with it. Maybe we can now know if the VG30 headers will fit a VG33 -Kyle
  16. Yahoo auctions Japan, same guy and place I used to get the projectors, I had a really bad case of insomnia last night, so I naturally browsed YAJ and found the original autech catalog for the 96 year Terrano, and a couple of catalogs for the 99 year Terrano and Terrano regulus, should be cool, can't wait to get my hands on all that stuff. Still on a hunt for a mirror though, the R3M-R Aero Limited, is rare enough as it is, so finding one at a wrecking yard be tough. But it's going to be MAAAAAADDDDDDD when I find it. -Kyle
  17. I appreciate your concern, but that still isn't technically the engine bay, while there is a sliver space for water to get it while washing my engine bay (which I have never done, and never plan to), it's still shielded by the radiator and the AC Condenser, so I think I'm good, if it becomes an issue. I will rebuild it, but like I said, I never had an issue is the many months I ran it in its previous version. -Kyle
  18. There isn't direct access to that from the engine bay, the only major whole that is there is the fender hole that is to left of the battery. Im confident it wont be an issue, i was running my old setup for a while, and even with the HUGE whole in my fender liner, there wasn't any dirt or signs of moisture in the area, the washer bottle does a good job at protecting the whole unit. -Kyle P.S. Just ordered one JDM power folding mirror, mirror switch, landscape headlight adjustment switch, and a JDM fender mirror!! So pumped, need to find the passenger mirror now.
  19. Frontier I feel like is more for the Xterra than the pathfinder. In terms of cross compatible parts. -Kyle
  20. What he said, pathfinders are all from Japan. So it's going to have Japanese writing to help during the assembly process. Even the part that I got from Mexico for a friend's maxima had Japanese writing on it. -Kyle P.s. Be careful using "Jap" if I remember correctly, it's sorta a derogatory word toward Japanese people.
  21. If you're like me when you were needing some suspension replaced, go down to your local parts store, pick up a Hanes or a Chilton manual, and go through their wall through on how to change the struts, they have plenty of pictures and may help ease whatever stresses that you may have. It did for me. -Kyle
  22. http://images.dealerrevs.com/gallery/photo.php?id=48298006 USMD JDM I like the idea of the fender mirror, just not sold on the side indicators yet. -Kyle
  23. Well, i thought i'd update this thread, because i have been working on it, redoing some stuff... So after seeing some other wiring jobs on other high end cars, i decided to redo my relay setup. I apologize for the shaky photos, my phone is toying with my emotions on a daily basis... Started like this Then about 4 hours later it looked like this And then i had to figure out a way to mount it, i wanted in the same place, as before, which was tricky, and it still isn't technically done, it sits a tad too high (which i figured would happen) and is messing up the front bumper alignment, and still isn't quite right again the washer bottle, but some more massaging will done soon. And then here it is, right when i thought i was done, turns out i had a brain fart and everything on the relay side needed to shifted to the right one pin, which was very annoying because its not as nice and clean as it was before, but whatever, it works, and still looks decent.. i ended up blowing the to headlight fuses, changed them and then started on making the washer bottle fit, i just hacked a little of the side support away, and its tight, but i think its down the wiring being all kinds of garbage, that will for sure be replaced when the lights are ready to be installed. SO that's what i have been up to, and deciding on if i want the JDM fenders, or the USDM fenders, still mulling it over, but i need to figure out whats wrong with my clutch and change my brakes and bearings before that can even happen. -Kyle
