  1. Love those trailer wheels. Quick question, does any of those rear accessories rattle around in the back? Like the Axe or flashlight? I've been contemplating doing what Offtourroadie did and mounting some of the stuff i have but on the back tail gate. Only concern is the weight and rattling around. I have a 10" sub facing right at the back wall (and before anyone asks, NO i'm not the jerk who drives around annoying everyone with my bass, most of the time, sometimes its fun, ). And rattles drive me insane. I've thought about getting a new piece from Rob or from a yard, and then fiberglassing the back area to give some more structure. So yeah, does any of that rattle much? -Kyle
  2. yeah, i might switch to purolator, i'm just too lazy to order it a head of time. I usually buy the oil when its on sale (which i should have done today. DANGIT!! ). Then i throw it on the oil shelf, and when i have a free Sunday, i run down to the parts store and get a filter and just do it. Also, side note on the rear wiper, i would suggest getting an OEM rear wiper. While others have admitted, its hard to get one so small. I have bought ANCO and other cheap brands (due to the fact they actually have them available) but they suck, and really don't work all that well. Plus OEM is cheap, i think Rob quoted me like $13 or so bucks if i'm remembering correctly. -Kyle
  3. What you'll most likely have to do is get some sort of adapter that plugs into some sort of accessory, like an CD changer or similar (if you have anything else) and then it takes the 3.5 signal and sends it out like a CD, so you just sent your radio to CD, and it will play thinking its a CD. I did this on a buddies 05' accord, but that was a way newer car, i don't know if a process like what i did for his car would work on an older car. But you can then run the cable though the Ash tray like i did for a super stealth install. Only mods you need to do is drill a hole in the Ash tray light, and then bust out the window in the ash tray. Pro Tip: i DO NOT recommend getting white cable like i did, because criminals are stupid. -Kyle
  4. They use screws, and then have a single use (i believe) sort of pop rivet thingy and you'll need to buy some more from nissan. While its been talked about, i have never actually seen a picture of a kouki pathfinder, with zenki flares. But i recently came across these bad boys and im still mulling it over. (yes, i'm %99 sure you can still buy these among other crazy JDM aftermarket gear) I love this Terrano, i think its the really WIDE BFG's and the TJM bumper. Need to get my hands on one of those, just to have.
  5. If you weren't in new York, I'd make you pick up a hood and fenders for me from the updated model. But I think those exceed even greyhound shipping. -Kyle
  6. I use Mobil one full synthetic because I can get a sweet deal on it from Costco, and then head over to my auto parts store and pick up a Mobil one filter. I've had the super nice rain-x blades (the ones that comes with a packet of rain-x) for threes years with no issues. I love um. They are on the spendy side but should last a real long time! -Kyle
  7. I just got my skid plate bolt protectors, can't wait to put them on! Also I just realized that those bunnies... Are they humping? Lol -Kyle EDIT: Steve, just the saw the website it looks so good with all the products you have! What's next in the pipeline?
  8. Thats what i figured is because due to them stretching during the first torquing process you don't want to reuse them, same with head studs right? Think you could also shine some light on my leaks? I remember you telling me about how the switches with fail right through the middle, at least in the context of the oil pressure switch for the idiot light system. Is that true for some of these 4WD and reverse lights? -Kyle
  9. Okay so maybe that better describes whats going on, i recently changed my fluid because it was DARK! I thought i was hydraulics too, the slave was squeaking REALLY bad, so i ordered a rebuild for it, do you think that might be it and my clutch seriously has life left? -Kyle
  10. I'd just say screw your dealer and buy it from Rob. I can tell you that he's knows there is a significant difference between the 3.3 and 3.5. lol -Kyle
  11. It's super easy on R50's, for the rears just hit then out with a hammer, get some washers, and an impact and pull the new ones in. Fronts are a little more complicated, but same basic concept. -Kyle
  12. Any core major support damage? Just looks like body work was affected. -Kyle
  13. It also appears as that i have some other leaks to deal with, i just want to get a second opinion from you guys. This looks like its the transfer fill nut, so im going to order some of that, any suggestions on making a gasket? I talked to Rob and he said plumbers tape should be fine. And this one looks like its come from some kind of linkage, its really confusing, i want to fix whatever it is thats leaking, but i can find any gaskets that seal it, see my next pic. (arrow points toward front of car) ?? This is just the Left side! I've got more leaks on the right side This, well i have no idea what it is, it could be either the trans neutral switch or the reverse light switch not too sure. (bottom of picture is front), do these go bad like the oil pressure switch i changed not too long ago? This one i believe to be the transfer neutral safety switch, not actually sure its leaking, it could be run off from the other switch, not really sure. This is them in a diagram, Would be super helpful is to find some pictures of a VG 4WD transmission and transfer pictures with it outside of the car. So i can visualize what the heck is going on, up on top of the transmission. HEY LOOK AT THAT Thank you eBay. I think number 1 is the 4WD switch and 2 is the transfer neutral safety switch. Also, where the heck is the Vehicle Speed Sensor? i cant find that anywhere! I also found a how to on how to remove a trans from a 94 pathfinder, are they close enough to be of some use? http://beergarage.com/PathTransmission1Remove.aspx -Kyle
  14. Yeah, I went on rockauto and found a Sachs kit for a decent price. After seeing the one offtour bought was $450! Ouch, but he hauls stuff, I have no intent of doing that. I've heard good things about Sachs, does everyone agree with that? -Kyle
  15. Well, i don't think i'm explaining right, what happens is when i change (sometimes) i feel my body sort of lean forward as its use to the "acceleration" and it seems like the car catches back up and everything feels like normal, i'm no expert, but that feels and sounds like clutch slip. Plus my shifts have been HORRIBLE recently, like really jerky (like when i first started to drive a stick). Its not every now and again, its frequently, which i don't think is me, because i take pride in my shifting and try to be smooth at all times. And yes, definitely going to be calling in some help to get the trans out and back in. Tranny jack doesn't seem like worth while purchase at the moment, so ill see if i can get an adapter, that's the route ill go. But i want to change some seals on my transfer and trans as its got some leaks coming from somewhere, looks like VSS area. No, i'm dreading doing this job, i DO NOT want to do it for another 140k at least, lol Any ideas on where to get an alignment tool? i assumed it came with the clutch, but i'm guessing not? Thanks for the help -Kyle
  16. So im fairly certain my clutch is going, i just hit 140,000 miles and i can feel the car jerking around, which i assume is clutch slip. So i need to start collecting parts to get this job done. I think i'm going to the exhaust at the same time, since a good portion of it needs to come off anyway. So, tell me what all needs to be done, i cant say I've ever done a clutch before, but i don't think it will be too bad. From what i know, ill need to drop the transfer and transmission (Duh), ill change some leaky seals while that's out. Offtourroadie did his not too long ago, i think ill ask how his is working, heard decent things about center force, so im confident that it will work. I need to have the flywheel resurfaced. When my buddy had his e30's flywheel done, he did the work of finding a shop, so that done. I also need to change the flywheel bolts, depending on how much stock ones are, i may go with ARP. Do i need to replace the throw out bearing? i'm assuming yes. Is there anything else i have missed? -Kyle
  17. hahah, oops. I guess i just assumed, now look whats happened!! Have you tested for continuity yet? to see if there might be a break or short somewhere? -Kyle
  18. Yeah, I think a ZD30DDTI would be awesome! A direct injected, turbo intercooled, diesel, Definitely has potential. It's the same hp as the VG33, just a little more torque, but I'm sure some more power could be freed up easily. And the field base is an unusual car. People have talked about sleeping in our cars before, looks like nissan actually intended it! lol But that will be nearly impossible to find, because I'm sure few people even opted for such an option, and if they weren't crushed years ago, they were most likely fell victim of rust, and then was crushed. Lol -Kyle
  19. I don't even know. I think for the nissan optional catalog, it's the couple of numbers and letters right after he description. But it's only the back half of a apart number (totally guessing here) but if someone has FAST with jdm options, they should be able to see the options. I sure hope so at least. I found some Russian places that still show the momo wheel, bumper pole and even the air purifier (unsure if you can even still buy them) so not all hope is lost. I've made a few contacts in all my jdm dealings. So I think I'm going to start calling in a few favors and see if they can track some stuff down. Is there anything you saw that interested you? -Kyle
  20. 1997 Regulus Field Base 1999 Star Fire and Field Base 2000 Star Fire Still have a couple more to scan in, i guess i'm making a little data base, lol Lets get some feedback, these Autech ones have some...interesting...options to say the least. -Kyle
  21. Autech Catalogs!! I forgot that i had digital copies of the Autech ones, so here they are. 1995 Astroad 1996 Desert Runner 1997 Astroad 1997 Field Base
  22. HEY YOUR BACK!!! Sorry to hear of the health issues, but glad everything is okay!! Have you not touched the truck since last year? is the camber issue still going on? -Kyle
  23. Look man, I didn't mean to start a pissing match, I was just saying there's a lot. Do whatever you want. -Kyle
