Hi Power back up lites
88pathoffroad replied to JeepRescueService14's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I got some 50W halogen 1156 replacement bulbs for my reverse lights. They simply replace the standard bulb. You could also consider using white LED bulbs, they're getting cheaper now and there's tons of them on Ebay. Some generic rybber-housing 55W tractor/farm implement lights from NAPA cost $13 each and work great for backup lights. If you break one, you're only out $13. -
With what, a regular 2 3/4" drill bit? o.o I suppose you could use a holesaw if it's aluminum.
-
Between 3.5 and 4 quarts total.
-
Mine runs at about 2300 @ 70 MPH on the freeway. Your auto tranny might not be working properly. Fluttering sound? Probably a leaking exhaust manifold.
-
Calmini or Superlift arms are good. AC's suck, and Rancho arms REALLY suck.
-
If there's no opposite matching plug to plug it into, leave it be.
-
Yup. True. Cable shifted auto tranny is no problem with a 3" body lift.
-
Mine has a listing for both 31's and 235's on the door and in the owner's manual. *shrug*

Something's probably loose. Check the ground wire connector on the distributor, the wires for the mass airflow sensor near the air filter, re-check the plug wire connections, and last but not least, did you gap the plugs correctly? Silly question, I know, but I had a friend that had no idea and had never gapped any plugs when installing them on any vehicle, and he had owned more than one car...hehe. How bad of a miss is it? Mine has the occasional stumble at idle, but when it's in gear, it doesn't do it. I can live with it rather than throw money at it trying to get it to run perfectly...

NO. You'd have the wheel bearings exposed to the weather if you did that. Do you think we're lying to you or something? Jesus Christ.

Holy runaway sentences, Batman! Heh. There's an ongoing thread about gas mileage that you can look through for that subject. A lot of Pathfinders came with 235/75/15's to begin with, so you're fine there. Your speedo should be real close to correct. Which transmission do you have? If you drive around with the auto tranny in Power mode it'll keep the torque converter from locking up and you'll be at a lot higher RPM's on the freeway than you would be if it were allowed to lock up into overdrive. The faster you drive, the higher your RPM's will naturally be. How fast do you usually drive on the freeway? You can't compare a newer Toyota to a 1990 Nissan, man. I don't know why you even thought it should be the same. Gas guage needle differentiation is normal also. Not a whole lot, but if you're noticing a big difference in needle position between the time you shut it off and the next time you turn it on, your voltage regulator for the guages might be going out on you. Might be a good idea to look into that before it dies on you...

No. TT 300ZX's only had the 3.0 VG30DETT engine.
-
Ummmm.....have you looked to see if any are missing or disconnected? That'd be a pretty obvious find. Other than that, I don't see why you'd need a manual diagram of the system setup.

electric fan clutch
88pathoffroad replied to 87pathfinder4banger's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
That guy must have either owned a dyno or worked for the place that had one, cause those things are expensive as hell to just run tests on. I got my Quest fan off Ebay for $10, the junkyard wanted $50-$75 for one, and new they're like $375. A replacement 16" fan like Jim has on his Pathfinder is about $100-$125 plus a electric thermostat to control the fan for another $20 or so. Install it yourself and save even more! -
Nope. They weren't available in the US and that's where most of us live. *shrug*

You'd have to call the AC people for clarification on their own descriptions, I would think. Couldn't say.
-
Here's a crosspost from the AC board...the bushings and pins are replaceable and the dealership sells the parts. http://65.166.200.170/ubbthreads/showflat....=true#Post95243

I wouldn't think so. Not unless the manifold leak was REAL bad, like annoyingly loud bad. How many miles do you have on that O2 sensor? I replaced mine at about 130,000 or so.
-
Um, my book says 21.1 for the Pathy and 15.9 for the HB, so...probably not, but I could be wrong. Maybe your gas guage just shows a bit lower than it really is, eh?

Lemme see here... Alizee DeathBoy Guano Apes HIM KMFDM Leftfield Limp Bizkit Lords of Acid Megadeth Etc, etc, etc...

I bought my Pathfinder. That's how I started offroading. The modification started shortly thereafter... ...can't....stop....adding....stuff....to the Pathy! AIGH!

electric fan clutch
88pathoffroad replied to 87pathfinder4banger's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
More like 2 or 3 horsepower, man. Whoever told you that wasn't informed very well if you ask me. If the Pathy with the Z24 uses the same radiator as a V6, then a Nissan Quest or Mercury Villager 16.5" fan will work great, it just pulls a lot of amps to run it. You'll just have to look around and see what will fit and what you can afford. -
Use a Chevy 350 as a starter? Seriously though, you can get a header, new muffler and K&N intake, but that motor isn't made to be powerful. It was made to be long-lasting and low-maintenance. If you really want to get into it, you could swap in a turbo 2.4 from a S13 or S14 240SX or Silvia...

Does anyone out there have a 4 cyl.?
88pathoffroad replied to 87pathfinder4banger's topic in Z24 Engine Discussion
They only offered the 4 cyl in the US in the 87-89 base models, so there weren't many made, man. Sorry.
