  1. Nononono, not Drive. NEUTRAL. With the engine OFF. If the wheels spin opposite directions, no LSD. If they spin the same way, you probably have an LSD.
  2. That's an indication that your heater core is leaking. Check your carpet under the dash on the passenger's side for wetness...
  3. It's not a carburetor. It's a TBI with dual injectors. How does a TBI just "go belly-up"? It should be a simple matter of replacing parts that aren't working properly. Perhaps your mechanic should look into checking the ECU codes and making sure all the sensors are working before telling you you need to replace a $900 TBI system part as a whole.
  4. Had your alternator tested recently? A bad alternator would kill batteries left and right.
  5. I should have modified that. Yes, the UPPER brackets bolt in. The LOWER brackets are spot-welded in. Sorry 'bout that.
  6. Yup. Over and over again until it resets. hehe
  7. Armelius, what ARE you talking about? It will bolt on just fine provided you have something to bolt it TO inside the sheetmetal.

  10. I'll have to open mine up and see, but isn't that rear hatch switch adjustable? Like, loosen a locknut then screw it in a little then tighten the locknut?
  11. Wierdness. My VG30i doesn't use hardly any and it has over 143000 miles on it.
  12. OK, that's a bit excessive. Triple-posting a For Sale ad in large bold font gets two of them locked.
  13. OK, that's a bit excessive. Triple-posting a For Sale ad in large bold font gets two of them locked.
  14. Yeah, it has a shock sensor but it doesn't work worth half a crap. You can open the rear glass without it going off cause there's no sensor on the glass, just the hatch.
  15. That's NOT just an e-brake light. It's also your main brake system warning light. Check your brake fluid level.
  16. Yup. There's less of an electrical load on the flasher, so it flashes faster. I'd replace the flasher. It's under the dash next to the fuse box. Little round dealie with two or three prongs coming out of it.
  17. You're either going to have to dig it out and somehow melt all the snow away from the tranny and clutch slave cylinder, or have it towed. That's a pretty obvious one.
  18. It's not a keyless alarm. It's a hardwired simple security system. Turning on the ignition disables the alarm. I have a book for that, I'll scan it and post it for you later.
  19. Yes, there should be 4 per vehicle. Two per UCA. The Nissan parts manual page says: Bushing, Upper Arm, (2 per side): 54506-B9500
  20. I scored this on Ebay and scanned all the pages, then uploaded them to my server for all to share. If you ever wanted a Nissan factory parts number for nearly ANY PART on your WD21 Pathfinder with pictures for most of them, here you go. This is by no means a complete bolts-and-nuts list, but it's a great start. Here's a zipped folder of all the scanned pages in one. 5.6 MB. http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...PartNumbers.zip I'm linking to each of these instead of showing them fullsize, cause they're huge. Each picture is between 300 and 400K. http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...tNumbers001.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20001.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20002.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20003.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20004.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20005.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20006.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20007.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20008.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20009.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20010.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20011.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20012.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20013.jpg http://Nissan.damagedreality.com/partnumbe...mbers%20014.jpg You're welcome.
  21. Definitely do the cap and rotor as well. Be aware that changing the plugs is a pain in the arse, removal of the sixth rearmost plug requires either the stock spark plug tool from under the rear seats or a ratchet with multiple wobbly extensions and a u-joint. After doing all that, unplug the battery for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. That will reset the ECU and clear all codes. Drive the vehicle for about a week, then check the ECU for error codes to see if anything else is registering an error.
  22. Once again you guys, the CV joints do not spin when the vehicle is in 2WD. The possibility of them making any noise whatsoever in 2WD is very, very remote.
  23. I can't BELIEVE the dealership says you need to replace the whole TBI because the heater quit on you. It's totally replaceable, and they should know that. Check it out: You can just plain remove the TBI, separate the mixture heater, break the center out of it, and reinstall the whole thing with new gaskets. Leave the mixture heater unplugged, though. It will run just the same and probably make a little more power because the restictive heater element honeycomb is removed. I did that on mine and it runs fine, no error codes. Hope that helps, it's not too hard to do and fairly simple to fix. You'll also save big bucks. For a new gasket, get a roll of gasket material for $4 and cut your own out, use a hole punch or X-Acto knife to cut out the center hole and bolt holes.
  24. Most of the problem is that the engine doesn't make enough torque and HP to keep it going that fast on CC. Add a K&N filter, give 'er a full tuneup if you haven't lately, change the fuel filter, etc...
  25. I simply added a third horn under the hood and relayed all three of them with a new relay and bigger guage wire. I used a Fiamm 130 db low note horn. Sounds good. I bet your horns are rusted up inside and just plain need to be replaced. They get that way after a while, particularly in winterized salty areas. See if they still work when you supply them with 12VDC directly from the battery. There is a horn relay under the hood - it's the grey one on the passenger's side fenderwell closest to the battery. You can remove the relay and send 12VDC directly to the horns from there if you can figure out which one is which with a voltmeter or test light. That'd eliminate the relay as a possible problem and let you test the steering wheel switch circuit as well. If they work fine, then start checking other things. My steering wheel cover has two screws the go in from the bottom at the front, then the cover unsnaps when you pull it directly out. Those clips are tough little metal SOB's, though! Takes some force to get the cover off after the screws are out.
