  1. You can do that with a WD21 Pathy. I'm gonna do mine pretty soon here...
  2. Yeah, it has a Chevy 350 in it. I bet he gets better gas mileage with the V8 than the old V6 got.
  3. You guys are totally missing the important part here. He doesn't have the VG30E. He has a VG30i, which is the TBI V6 with the round air cleaner. A cone filter is impossible to use on one of those without some sort of special adapter and tubing. I've already emailed that Ebay seller telling them that those parts will NOT fit a 87-89 Pathfinder, but evidently they listen to their parts book more than people who know what they're talking about... Bottom line, all he can do for an intake is get a K&N drop-in filter and put that in. After that, it's removing parts and modifying stuff to make it work better, all custom and expensive and time-consuming.
  4. I don't think anyone will need a 6" drop, but a 2", 3" and 4" would be practical for everybody. Disturbed1: the panhard rod attaches between the frame and the rear axle. It locates and reinforces the lateral(sideways) movement of the axle under load. After you lift your Pathy, the rod will be angled downward instead of being flat like it's supposed to be, so dropping down the frame-mounted end would be the best way to restore the rod's angle back to something approaching stock. With the panhard rod at an angle, you get axle twist and it doesn't keep the axle located properly. It ends up being off by a little bit.
  5. I hope that includes metal lines that need replacing, cause if you pay $70+ for rubber hoses, you got more money than I do burning a hole in your pocket...
  6. Nah, just a new gasket if the old one was leaking or was damaged during removal.
  7. Yup. Full-width Dana 60's and 12" wide wheels with like 2" of backspacing. At least it's not too tipsy that way? Hehe. darn huge, I'll give him that!
  8. Nope, you have to yank the exhaust crossover pipe to get the pan off. I've tried myself, there's just no clearance for it under there.
  9. Your BPT valve is a back-pressure transducer valve. It's used inline with the EGR valve to regulate recirculated exhaust gases into the intake via the EGR valve. Kinda wierd, considering they quit using BPT valves on the V6...I think...there's an EGR control valve solenoid that does that instead on the 88 and newer vehicles.
  10. Moral of the story being, you shouldn't use high-wattage 100W H3 bulbs in small housing fog lights originally designed for 55W bulbs.
  11. The backspacing for any given wheel is the measured distance between the wheel's flat inside mounting surface to the inside edge of the rim. Try Googling it?
  12. As far as I know, they don't make 10.5" wide wheels. I could be wrong. Neutral BS or a little more...maybe 5.5" on a 10" wheel...
  13. The throttle position sensor would do that to you... Headers will be a nice improvement over stock manifolds, for sure. You'll get more HP and better sound. From what I've been hearing from more and more people, headers fit allright with an auto tranny. The crossover pipe might hang a little low, but apparently they fit OK.
  14. Just worry about whether or not the thermostat is stuck or not right now. The fan will still work OK and isn't a big deal.
  15. Should be 5/16" and 3/8". Common fuel hose will work for replacement purposes. I believe on the MPFI VG30E, the fuel pressure is about 45 psi tops.
  16. Unless you have access to a cheap wrecked R50 Pathy with a good rear disc axle, it'll be really spendy. Swapping the whole rear axle is probably the easiest way, but it sure won't be cheap.
  17. The common problem on those is having the frame mount rust out inside the bushings, then the rod starts to move around in the hole under compression and it ovals out the frame... Then you have to weld in new cups to seat the bushings against cause the frame's got a big hole in it.
  18. Dunno about the nasty noise, but the squeaky noise is either a belt, an accessory pulley, or your idler pulley for the AC. Are you making a turn when you hear the noise? Try to narrow it down a little...
  19. It won't stick to a gas/dirt coated tank surface, if anything. You might want to start looking for a different tank. Some parts stores sell gas tank sealer stuff if it's able to be fixed that way.
  20. The fan clutch is separate from the water pump, though it IS bolted to the water pump pulley. If your thermostat is sticking open, you'd definitely get the lower guage reading you're getting. If your temp guage sensor was going out, it might also do that to you, though. Try this: with the engine cold, take off the radiator cap. Let the coolant settle and then start the engine. If it looks like it's constantly circulating, the thermostat's probably stuck open. If it looks pretty still until the engine warms up, then moves, the thermostat is probably working OK and your temp sensor might be at fault instead.
  21. Check your MAF sensor wiring for looseness or corrosion. Common problem. Also check your plug wires for proper connections.
  22. You can get one from either the Nissan dealership or a junkyard. It takes about 30 minutes to insatll one.
  23. Actually, I have the same thing every now and then. Dammit.
  24. Bull CRAP. I completely removed the heater element on mine and it runs better now than it used to. That's a lie. The throttlebody will NOT warp if your mixture heater doesn't work. What a load!
