Carb cleaner will do fine. Blast away. You can use whatever you want to clean the intake(short of acid, heh). If you can, get yourself a 5-gallon bucket, fill it up with hot water and a gallon of Purple Power degreaser cleaner, then dunk that sucker in there for a while. Spray it off and it should be nice and shiny inside.

ATF is thinner and has a high detergent level. It roots out and loosens crap from insid ethe engine. Do NOT run ATF in your engine for longer than you need to before draining it out.

True...he does have hook-ups at a REAL NICE offroad shop. I've seen his SAS'ed Pathy in person and it's REAL nice. Top-notch heavy-duty fab work.

One of the front calipers is probably sticking or the slide pins needs to be greased so it moves freely. Also check your alignment and steering components for wear and looseness.

WTF? ??? Where'd that come from?

You can't type "Pathfinder" in all caps on this forum, and if you type it in all lowercase letters, it capitalizes it for you. WTF, Jim? Pathfinder Pathfinder Pathfinder

lgranch: THERE WAS NEVER A CARBURETED Pathfinder SOLD IN THE USA. They were all TBI until 1990 when they went to the VG30E MPFI setup. V6 AND 4-cylinders.

How would one go about making a stroker out of a VG30? Swap in a VG33 crank somehow and run stock rods from a VG30? Custom pistons? Deck height would be a concern for me...

Quit with teh bumping!!1 Hehe. You're not getting anywhere any faster that way... what do you want, anyway? Do you have a question or need something specifically stated for you to be satisfied? Make a useful comment or post pics of your turbo parts if you want the topic back to top. -
He's gonna want to check his sh*t again. Unless he wants to go to an adapted TBI or simplified turbo setup, the intake from a VG30i won't give him any advantages, unless I'm really sadly mistaken. The intake on the 300ZX VG30 is all different compared to the Pathfinder...

That shouldn't hurt it. Doublecheck your wiring and the relay's turn-on wire for 12vDC with ignition on. Do you know for sure that the fan will turn on as it sits?

EXACTLY where are you seeing this again? Where does it drip? Can you take a pic?

Both lockers engauge when torque is applied via the driveshaft through the differential to the ring gear. Basically, when you give it gas, it locks up. If you're coasting or turning and are not on the gas, it unlocks and allows one wheel to spin freely. It will chirp the tires around corners if you give it gas, period. You have to go pretty slow and easy to keep it from making any noise around corners. Sometimes when it unlocks it make a nice loud bang and makes the rear end shudder. It doesn't cause any problems as a result of the noise, though.

It may start leaking more if you flush it...I've seen that happen to many a car, actually. *shrug* If it doesn't leak any to begin with, you'll probably be safe doing it, but it's usually not necessary. You can just add a half quart to a full quart of tranny fluid to the oil before changing it, run it a bit to circulate the fluid and that'll do the trick just as well as any specialty flush additive.

1. Yes. 2. Run fine.

The only time a vehicle will leak coolant out the muffler is when it has a severely cracked block, head or blown head gasket...

You sure he wants a VG30i TBI intake manifold and not the upper intake from a MPFI 90-95 VG30E?

Woop, there I go talking out of my arse again. I remembered that from some article I read a while back, but it doesn't HAVE to be the passenger's side. The antenna simply needs to extend above the roofline by a significant amount in relation to it's length and be properly grounded if it's a ground plane antenna as opposed to a non-ground plane antenna like a magnetic mount setup.

No books needed...you're missing one of these lock linkage adapters. (yellow plastic bits attached to the linkage parts in this pic) ...look inside your hatch and I bet you'll find the missing one. If not, they're cheap at the dealership.

All I gotta say is, if there's so much room and it's so easy, why hasn't it been done, then? -
That's a RHD vehicle, obviously not from the US...

Not unless his Pathy is a 2WD...

Oooook. The 1" spacers with cranked t-bars will wreck your sh*t. The 1/2" spacers are apparently OK, but they don't fix any angles whatsoever. They just allow you to crank up the t-bars more before they bottom out on the bumpstops. 1. It's close enough. You'll need an alignment after that, though. 2. No. 3. Not very. 4. No. 5. Don't worry about tires until you have the clearance to run bigger ones. -
Go with 32x11.5's instead. You won't regret it.
