  1. It's like this: Stock UCA when cranked: \ Aftermarket UCA when cranked: \_ It has an angled BJ mount to allow for correct angles.
  2. It'd be easier if old Vortechs were cheaper...until then, it's gonna be a long shot to do it. You also have to take into consideration the adapters for intake inlets, tubing, etc. Not everybody has machine shop equipment at their disposal, much less the skill and/or experience to utilize them.
  3. I bet they ARE guessing. They can't diagnose more problems without removing the tranny totally, is the thing.
  4. The front fender isn't airtight, man. Air flows well enough through it for a stock vehicle.
  5. Jcollins: If the starter was turning the engine over, then obviously it was working, right? Tonkatoy: I've rebuilt mine. All it takes is tearing it apart, cleaning it up and replacing the brushes.
  6. Nope, power mode changes the shift pattern, this modification turns the torque converter lockup off or on.
  7. 87-89 Pathfinders don't come with keyless entry or alarm. Next!
  8. Leaving the stock cooler in use period is a hazard. Warming up the fluid is a small benefit to quote if your tranny dies from overheating cause you're still using the clogged-up stock cooler.
  9. CTPathy: you have to take the TBI off and get into the intake itself...removing the EGR valve itself would give you the opportunity to hose some carb cleaner in there, it may blow out the blockage after it eats into the carbon deposits long enough. Got a Chilton's manual?
  10. I think this thread has served it's purpose. Please post further NASCAR comments in the appropriate thread.
  11. Yeah...the fan would have to run at about 50,000 RPM's and pull about 100 amps to boost you by more than 1 PSI... The resistor(not a diode) simply makes the engine run rich. It fakes the ECU into thinking you're getting 40 degree air fulltime, so it richens the fuel/air mixture to compensate, which gives you about 1/2 more HP and worse gas mileage.
  12. They quit making the Detroit lockers for our 31-spline H233B rear diffs.
  13. armelius2: use the larger size and hose-clamp it on the small end. REAL easy. It's not a high-pressure line. CTpathy: $1 says your EGR valve passages are totally plugged up and your decel valve needs replacing. Have you run your ECU codes?
  14. Depends on if you're lucky or not. Some people get theirs in a week or so, others have waited two months and been REAL pissed off.
  15. How'd you get an ignition coil on your intake? o.O
  16. Mmyep. Does your dad offroad at all? Tell him tough titty, this is my car and it works like this so I can do what I need to with it, which is to keep up with the 4WD guys. Tire wear due to having a locker is negligible. I dare someone to tell us all different and back it up with some pics or something.
  17. Dammmit man, put down the beer and read!
  18. No, you shouldn't need an alignment, and yes, they are fun to replace.
  19. The stock cooler should be bypassed completely and replaced with an aftermarket cooler for best performance, etc.
  20. Pitman arms are typically terrible to take off. Soak it in PB Blaster as much as possible and rent a pitman arm puller from a local auto parts store that does rentals. It'll probably pop right off with the right rental tool. Personally, I used one of these: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Disp...temnumber=36865 Bit of heat, bit of hammer, and let it sit with some pressure on it for a while before giving up...
  21. Heh, they broke the mold after they made your pop's car and haven't made a good one since.
  22. I'd take the plate off and just clean it up. Is it rusting through the sheetmetal or something terrible?
  23. OK, point was made, no more post-whoring. *whap*
