That's unlifted with 31's. Lifted with 32's or 33's, it's desireable to have a little less BS to keep the tires in the right place and avoid fender rubbing or damage. I have 33x13.50x15" Super Swamper LTB's on 15x8.5" alloy generic wheels with neutral backspacing. That gives me about 4 1/4" of BS with an 8.5" wide rim.

The proper part number is 29091. 28-spline axles, from 90-99. Fits all Pathys of those years. I couldn't find a 29092 in the Nissan list, so that number's probably for something else, but then again, I don't really know. You could try ordering the cheap ones and see what you get but you may end up with something that won't fit. *shrug*

Just Google it. One search and I find: A higher BS number indicates a wheel with the majority of the rim space on the wheelwell side. A "0" offset rim is a neutral wheel with equal amounts of rim between fender and curb, and a wheel with an low-number offset of -4 would cause the tire to stick way out of the wheelwell.

Yeah, the high-mileage oil is simply semi-synthetic. *shrug*

You're just now noticing this? I fixed it like two weeks ago.

Backspacing needs to stay around 3-4" on an 8" wheel to fit 12.5 tires into the wheelwells. Too wide and they'll tear the everloving crap out of your fender sheetmetal. Trust me on this one, it's not pretty when a tire takes out the back half of your fender and you have to look at it every day and shake your head...

Yeah, most auto parts stores will pull ECU error codes for you for free. Give that a shot and see what comes up.

Those vents are fun to replace, you have to get behind the dash or remove it entirely, IIRC. Like Precise1 said, check the rear suspension for bent parts or broken stuff. Hopefully those guys didn't get the bright idea to try and jam it into 4lo and pin the gas until something broke. Check the wiring on the t-case and make sure everything got plugged back together properly after you changed the clutch.

I'd just go with 15x8's with less backspacing if I were you. 31 x 10.50's are gonna have a hard time staying on the rims with wide wheels like that, particularly if you have to air them down for offroading or sand running. That and they make the tires wear funny, I believe.

I never said it wasn't nice or tried comparing it to mine, I just said it's simply got a small lift and different tires. Take those away and it's totally stock. *shrug* Lots of guys in Hawaii run 15.5 tires. Heh.

Mine have grease zerks too. They came that way. The bushings are also grooved for the grease to spread evenly through them. Here's pics of the bent spindle. Don't ask...I have no idea how I did that.

I bet that Patrol had a V8 in it that needed two snorkels. Heh. That's a real nice setup...now, if we all only knew how to weld and bend large-diameter stainless tubing...

That's just a Pathy with a 3" body lift and some worn-out-ass 31 x 15.50 Swampers. *shrug*

I'd put the Calmini setup on top of the Superlift UCA's any day. The Superlift arms aren't weak, though. They're made with .120 wall tubing and 3/8" steel plate. Big welds, thick steel and proven design with a good price. The Calmini setup is damn near indestructible, you'll bend the spindle and toast the steering long before the UCA's have even the slightest problem. I actually have bent a spindle with the Superlift arms already and they still work great, though my bushings need to be replaced now...

I think it's through 89, then they changed in 90. The 92 quotes might just be wrong or mistaken. At least, that's what I've always heard.

It occurs to me that if you still have to cut the console plastic to get the shifter into 4LO, it's probably not tall enough or it has the wrong angle. Shifters from any 4WD HB from 87-95 should work.

MOOG is a company name. I believe it's an un-dotted acronym for the owner's names or something. They make steering parts, different kinds of socketed joints and some different kinds of gearboxes and gear trains.

Most SE's have LSD and disc rear too. You could get both those things on any model as an option, though. I guess you need to start looking at Pathys in person, eh?

mws: I've had my K&N on for years now and the TBI's still shiny and sparkling clean as the day it was polished. How much dirt again?
