  1. You should know better than that, LOL Off topic is on topic !!
  2. I've always used Autometer gauges and have never had any problems, I prefer the mechanical gauges but that's just me.
  3. Acknowledged, your right, missed that part.
  4. But Cory has custom made rear axle gears and custom made transmission gears so who knows, he says his truck does that, why join this site just to lie to everyone???
  5. I'm only running the front coaxial's and a 12" sub in a sealed box in the rear, Alpine 4 ch amp running in 3 ch mode (50 x 2 front, 150 x 1 sub), sounds pretty good, could use a better crossover, and I threw an Alpine 11 band EQ in that I had laying around, headunit is 94 era Alpine CD that a co-worker gave me after I installed a newer on in his gf's truck.
  6. So my curiosity is making me ask, why spend so much money on having a custom gear set made when you probably could have had a complete axle swapped in and used a off the shelf set of gears?
  7. Rancho used to make those in a kit, I installed a set on my friends Toyota way back, of course there was no listing for any Nissan's, as usual
  8. Yes mine are round, the Clarion I used in the pics was just for test fit purposes, Can't recall which speakers I have in the PF now, they are either Kicker or Alpine, silver cones.
  9. what RPM's are you seeing at 75 MPH in 5th gear?
  10. Haas anyone used the existing wiring at the headlight plug to trigger the relays? That is how I am going to do mine, Mount the relays (or double relay) close to the battery, use the pass side headlight wiring (low and high wires) ran to the new relay to trigger them, than make a new harness from the relays to each headlight.
  11. I hear ya, I'm real good with remembering numbers, suck at math but I can still remember the phone number from Jim Connor Racing from the 90's, well actually I just checked I was one digit off, lol Keep posting about your mods .
  12. I'm sorry you said you were 19 I think?? I'm 47 and I can remember the name of the shop that did the exhaust on my hardbody 20 plus years ago. Guess some people have better memories ??
  13. I have 6.5" in my front doors (94), they fit fine, you will need to drill new holes to mount them but it is easy. No speakers in the rear so can't help there. I took pics of the door openings and they are in this thread: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/175-installing-an-aftermarket-stereo/page-5?do=findComment&comment=652377
  14. Where did you find all those different gear ratios for each gear ( first thru 5th) ? What is a tranny gear ratio? Your tranny should have the 5 gears as you posted (plus reverse of course) plus the ring and pinion in the front and rear axle I've never seen a gear ratio lower than 4.37 for the WD-21's or the D-21, you will have to fill us in on your source for the 2.42:1 ratio gears in case anyone else wants to follow what is done to your truck. How did you correct your speedometer? You have a lot of things done to your pathfinder that no one on here has ever heard of, please share your sources and experience. Thanks Again
  15. If the gauge mount still has a gap after being installed you could probably use a piece of that door jam protector on the edge of the gauge pod to close the gap.
  16. A lower gear ratio (numerically) would cause your RPM's to increase, keep in mind also that changing tire size from what came stock will change the speedometer reading as well as your odometer and trip odometer. Going from a 215/75/15 which generally would be 27.7" tall to a 235/75/15 which would generally be 28.9" tall at 60 miles an hour the speedometer would read 62.6. (I say generally in regards to tire size as every manufacturer is different, sizes were taken from BF Goodrich tires.} On my 87 hardbody with the stock 31's, and stock 4.62 ratio gears in drive at 60 MPH the engine would be running at 4000 RPM, I did not have over drive, and you do not either considering you have a 5 speed, unless you are referring to fifth gear as an "overdrive"
  17. So you replaced the ring and pinion gears? Do you know what ratio you are using? Any info on the low flow fuel pump?
  18. I saw your numbers, but is that using the computer your mechanic installed for you or by figuring the MPG the "normal" way. As I said not doubting you, and I'm not trying to piss you off, but if your doing something with your truck and getting such good MPG I would like to know what you have done (specifics), and using the same method to figure MPG as others use. Thanks
  19. I'll check that out thank you for the referral
  20. forum won't let me edit my post so I have to add a second reply, Sorry I just have to add one thing after re-reading the entire thread, I agree with what was posted already, you need to calculate your mileage the usual way instead of posting what ever some computer says, that way we can compare your numbers based on the mods you have to other members numbers. Second, I do not know the exact MPG numbers an 88 Pathfinder was rated for brand new, but I do know what the MPG ratings were from my old 87 Hardbody 4x4, which uses the same engine and fuel injection and my 87 was rated 15 city 16 highway, I have the original window sticker that shows that. With that said, I don't care what anyone on here says they did to their engine, body, wheels or tires, regardless there is no way figuring out MPG the usual way that the 87-88 year Nissan trucks are going to get 32 MPG. But as I said, if you are with your truck, figuring the MPG by dividing the amount of gas used for a given number of miles driven than by all means please share exactly what was done, cause we all could use a increase in MPG with these trucks. Thanks Sorry for off topic.
  21. Ok, I was just wondering. I've had a 87 hardbody from brand new and my PF now, and also worked in a 4x4 shop back home back when parts were being produced for the Nissan trucks and I have (still haven't) never seen a chip for these trucks. Jim Wolf Technology used to ( they still may I don't know), offer ECU re-programming where you sent yours in and they would alter it. If your uncle located a source for a chip than you really need to find out the specifics and share it. The only so called "chips" I have seen are the ones that install under the hood and offer these "amazing" improvements, where basically all it is is a resistor that connects inline with the IAT sensor and tricks the ECU to think the air temp is colder than it is causing the ECU to inject more fuel. Not saying that is what you have, just curious on what ever chip your uncle found for you. Sorry for off topic.
  22. Where is the chip that you have installed? ECU?? other area??
  23. Just noticed, why did you mount the relays on the drivers side of the truck? I always try to keep the relay (s) close to the battery so the power wire from the battery to the relay is as short as possible, probably not much loss by installing them on the Drivers side but the purpose of using the relay (s) is to eliminate any loss that the OEM wiring would add. Just how I do relays, of course it's your truck. Won a pair of the Hella headlights on E-bay today. They are ECE model for right hand drive, so should be ok for the US.
  24. Another source, for a 1/8" female NPT X 1/8 " male BSPT $4.99 in brass http://www.mcmaster.com/#cadinlnord/4860k141/=l5j2ry
  25. No prob, you were partially correct, I guess early CJ5's had a V6.
