  1. It's hard to tell with the wind noise but I'm pretty sure I hear an exhaust leak when you rev it. James
  2. I love my KMA bumper! The way I set it up it is very solid, I did a dragging the truck with the wheels locked and the bumper didn't flex at all. I will have to get pictures for you. The way they sent it it bolts up to the tow hook locations and just had blank tabs where the factory bumper mounts were. After bolting it up I put the factory bumper brackets back in and drilled and bolted them to the blank tabs. Very solid! I even bulldozed a few small trees with it already.James
  3. Mine looked just like that. I cleaned the terminals and put some silicone grease on them. The plug in is on a short pigtail that plugs next to the distributor, we may be able to get a new pigtail from the dealer. You can unplug it by the distributor and check resistance there to make sure the plug at the sensor is making good contact. Mine has been ok since but not to worried about it since one day I will finish the harness to swap the fuel injection. My sensor swept good when I heated it but was 300 ohms out of range and apparently that was too much. James
  4. Your drawing looks like mine. I didn't build it though. KMA, TAG now. James
  5. Notice how they power the harness? All through one ignition actuated relay. So when you turn it off the ECU would loss all power and loose any codes it would store anyway. This would also remedy the problem with nissan ECUs learning. This way it would run the same every time. I have to reflash my titan periodically because of this learning. My tune when I fresh flash it is conservative on fuel and I average 14mpg back and forth to work. After 8 or 9 months it starts getting pig rich, sluggish on the bottom end and 11 to 12 mpg. Reflash and all is good again. James
  6. The cylinder head temp sensor is on the front of the driver side head. It doesn't screw into a water jacket so you don't have to drain the coolant. It has the same style plastic plug like a injector (should be yellow) and will probably crack when you pull it off. It's a real pain to replace, I just pulled the timing belt, gears and the rear cover to get to it. I find it easier to just do it right instead of trying to sneak it out. Takes longer but is less frustrating. James
  7. Spray the felpros with copper coat, my quest 3.3 has been holding up like that for at least 30k now. My wife rolls the @!*% out of that van too, she spends more on gas in that van than I spend on my Titan, pathy, and boulevard combined. She is toting the kids around though so I don't say much about it. My pathy is an 87 too, when my temp sensor went bad it really ran like crap. But if you are getting pressure in the radiator and white smoke out the tailpipe you probably have a head gasket problem. The temp switch on an 87 is a pain to change by its self so get one now to change when you have the heads off. James
  8. A lot of sensors are not important to how the engine runs. Jim Wolf has a diagram on their web site of how to strip down a maxima wiring harness to run a VQ30DE in an alternate application like sand rail or other off road vehicle. If you compare their diagram to the similar diagram in the maxima FSM they deleted almost half the wiring. I called them to ask how the ECU would like missing all these sensors and if they somehow reprogrammed the ECU to not need them. I was told the engine will run the same with or without these sensors. It will store codes but most people that put an engine like this in an alternate vehicle doesn't connect a check engine light. Only problem would be sorting through the extra codes if you had a driveability problem. Back to your problem, if you want to send your original ECU to get reprogrammed and the truck will run on the extra ECU you have now, just use it like that till your original gets back. James
  9. This guy has info on head gaskets and recommends Nissan OEM. RedZ31 The head gasket info is near the bottom of the page. With this being said, I used felpro gaskets on a 3.3 in my wife's quest van and they have been holding up fine for 30k. I always spray head gaskets with copper coat though. I used the felpro because I did the job before I started researching VG motors. James
  10. Ok then you could compare the wiring diagrams of a 94 and your 91 to make sure all the pins are the same. Unfortunately there are no 91 FSM floating around. The second thing you could do is cross your fingers and plug it in. James
  11. Even my 87 has a VSS, it is on the back of the speedometer. The round dash started in 94. I think the harness for the ecu will be different than you 91. James
  12. I towed my 20 foot trailer with a tongue jack right behind the bulldog hitch. The jack is close to the spare but it never hit. I'm not sure how long my ball mount is it's but it's not excessively long. You should be fine. James
  13. I have a set that I pulled off of a 95 4 cyl. I didn't count the splines but measured them with calipers. Even the minor diameter is larger than the 1.094 OD of the 27 spline axles. James
  14. I went raid the pick a part today. Both stanza's they had were already missing injectors but they have 12 altimas with 2.4 DOHC. I pulled an injector from one and tried to pull one from a pathfinder to compare the differences but it started raining on me. So I took the one injector with me and compared it at home. I don't have the rail off of my parts truck so I compared it to the 3.3 quest rail. The injectors are made different but looks like it would seal in the 3.3 rail, just need a different style cap. It sticks out the bottom a little too but I don't think that would hurt anything. Maybe a rail from another VG would work better. James
  15. A little more than that for a pair! +\(D21&cPath=3178_3179_3272_3273"]Courtesy parts James
  16. For the front pump damn near every Nissan I checked in the pick a part was the same. I'm using one from a maxima on my 87. I pulled the pumps from a 99 villager and they are all plastic so no rust problems. I have a small stack of pumps now but still none for the rear. The rear uses a positive displacement type pump. James
  17. Definitely have to tune the ECU for the increased flow. I'm going to have to watch the pick a part for stanza's, injectors are $5 apiece. They have a 93 Q45 right now, I may have to go raid that. They have a 92 G20 but I would think it would have a 2.0L not 2.4L. James
  18. I have a yellow top in my titan, the little autozone battery that was in my pathy when I got it just won't die. The best thing about the optima is not having to clean the terminals. I only open the hood on the titan to change the oil. The yellow top is a cross between a cranking battery (red top) and a deep cycle battery (blue top). Yellow top would be the best choice when running a winch. I didn't know about the die hards when I bought the yellow top for the titan, optima didn't have a battery with as much cranking amps as the factory titan towing package battery. Lots of guys on clubtitan were using them without problems so I bought it and haven't had any troubles. I might get a die hard for the titan and put the yellow top in the pathy. James
  19. Also 90 to 92 stanza had a KA24 mpfi. They have a 60mm throttle body too. The throttle cable is on the wrong side just like the 240 though. James
  20. Your right, I think I trust my 24 year old pathy more than my 06 titan. I still haven't had a chance to bring the titan in for the fuel pump relay recall, then wonder what will be next on the recall list. James
  21. That was awesome! Is that one of those turbo pathys? Lol! Now that I have a locker when I dump the clutch I get two or three chirps and its gone, no where near the power that pathy has. James
  22. Turn them off with a chisel. Wear safety glasses because the lug body is hardened so it cant be turned with pliers. I had to remove them from my pathy like this when I got it. James
  23. Around here you need to be certified to rent or fill a tank. We looked into that yesterday actually, my dad bought a benjamin marauder air rifle. You charge it to 3000 psi with a hand pump, quite a work out for a 64 year old man. He has the option of filling it with a scuba tank if he can get one. I have a CO2 bottle setup I used with a tank to run an impact but it's a pain in the butt always wondering how much the bottle has left and having to go get them filled. James
  24. So what year did the D21 4 banger have multi port injection? Every one I find in the pick a part has a throttle body injection. James
  25. I thought I read that the VG30 and VG33 both use the same size injector. You could ask the guy at the injector shop, he should know. James
