  1. I have a factory built 10/22 target, but I got the hammer forged barrel and the blond laminated stock. I still have my old school 10/22 that my Dad gave me when I was 13 years old. I tried a few different rounds through the target version. It seemed to like federal lightnings the best. Winchester wold cats were wild, all over the target. I never tried any of the expensive target round though. Once I got a savage in 17HMR I haven't shot the 10/22 since. I sighted the 17 in at 50 yards then shot off the 4 thumb tacks that were holding the target. I don't think any 22 will match the accuracy of the 17. James
  2. I did just like you, bought one had it tested and put it on the shelf. Ben like three months now. I will get it mounted up soon. James
  3. I run straight 30 weight oil in mine. I got it from lowes or home depot but it was 3 or 4 years ago. James
  4. I never paid attention to it that much, as long as it started I didn't look back. As far as the oil level, I usually change it every time I use it. It only takes around 3oz so before I start it I dump the old oil and fill it back up using the small bottle it came with for measuring. It sounds like a vent hose that you are talking about. A four stroke must have a vented case. Your oil might be too thick or your rings have too much end gap causing too much crank case pressure.
  5. My brother has a hobart 140A 110 volt machine, and it works great. The biggest difference with the cheaper machines is the duty cycle. As long as you don't try to make one two foot long bead you will be fine. James
  6. I used a old school C type spring compressor, you just have to come from the opposite side of the head. From the exhaust side to get the intake, I had to set it pretty tight where I had to kind of wiggle it on but it worked fine. Spend the money and change the sensor while you are looking at it. On my wife's quest, which is the one I was pulling the valves, the old sensor looked good and rang the same as the new one with an meter but the new sensor fixed the problem. And you don't want to have to take it all apart again. James
  7. You would have to use the auto that comes in the titan too. The bell housings are totally different. the starter is under the intake manifold. Makes changing the starter on a wd21 sound easy. You would need a wrecked donor truck to take everything needed to get it going. The transfer case is on the same side as ours. James
  8. I have a troybuilt trimmer, and yes you can't just store it anyway you want. I used to hang my trimmers by the head, but with this one oil leaks out just like GG stated. I had to pull the plug because the cylinder was full of oil, I couldn't even pull the rope. Now I store it laying flat and never have a problem with it. I don't like it's performance compared to the 2 stroke, it does seem to have more low end power and I don't have to rev it as high for normal cutting, but when I need the juice with the blade attachment it just isn't there like the two stroke was. James
  9. Hell if you go with a mega squirt injection system just stuff a VK5.6 in there. From an 04 to 06 you got 305hp with no mods to the motor. It would get awesome fuel mileage too because the motor would be stock. If you ever looked at a VK5.6 close, once all the crap is taken off the motor itself isn't that big. Its all aluminum too so it wouldn't be much heavier than our cast iron block. James
  10. I'll have to disagree with you on that one. A high school buddy of mine put a 454 in a chevette. At least the shell was a chevette, it had one seat in the middle of the car and the space between the rear tires wasn't as wide as one rear tire. That thing was a monster!I guess he didn't have enough space on the axle to weld good enough supports, one day something broke loose and the rear axle steered him into the guard rail half way down the track. It flipped like 10 times and he walked away bragging about his roll cage that he built saving his life. He didn't claim the welding on the axle though. James
  11. The sway bar is ok, I just finished rebuilding the whole front end. Now that y'all are telling me that it's not normal I guess I need to crawl back under there. It honestly didn't do this before the lockright install. The lockright and front end rebuilt with hoohaa link went in at the same time though. Today I did some heavy swerving going down the highway around 45mph and it all feels tight so I will look it all over again to make sure I didn't miss anything and then just roll it till it gets worse. James
  12. I hate to put it like this but my pathfinder was built in Japan, my titan was built in Mississippi. Kind of looks bad for American workmanship. James
  13. This is the reason I vowed after my second Titan that I would never buy another Nissan. The dealers around here have nothing but idiots in the service department. I understand a new vehicle may have a few small problems, but when the service department cant even fix small problems I sure wont trust them to fix large ones. So basically I waisted my money on the extended warranty because if I want even the little problems fixed I have to fix them myself. Then I turn around and bought this pathfinder. So I changed my vow, I will never buy another NEW Nissan! Besides these older ones are way better built. James
  14. Welcome You found the right place, there is more pathfinder info here than all the nissan dealers combined. And we don't charge you for it. James

    Thank you

That sounds like an awesome trip, what kind of job do you have? I would love to take a trip like this but I would return to no job and have to live in the truck! James
  16. They all looked ok when I was just under there changing the springs, I cant twist them by hand either. I guess I will have to pull one out and look at it. I don't get the death wobble on the highway so I figured they were fine. James
  17. Hey Guys, I have never driven a truck with a locker or a spool so this may be normal. When I take off going straight I notice that the front diver side fender lifts first. Before the front end lifted even. Also if I dump the clutch fast and then let up on it the front end actually swings to the side like if someone was pushing on the fender. I thought I might have a tire low or with less tread than the other but they are pretty even. My guess if this is normal is that the axle being solid now is transferring the rotational effect of the drive shaft to the body? Or is the axle now trying to outrun the truck? James
  18. I read the whole thing and now my head hurts! That is one sweet sounding 6! James
  19. I said it feels like the compressor is turning on, meaning I feel a small lose of power just like the when compressor turns on. James
  20. Really B, I thought you were running 31"x10.5"s
  21. I used the treaded rivet nuts to mount my roof rack. I got them at harbor freight. I did pull the headliner so I knew what I was drilling into and you don't want your bit to go through the headliner or just rip a big hole in it. I used some acrylic windshield adhesive to seal the rivets and them used teflon tape on the treads of the screws I put in the rivets. Its also I good time to add sound deadening material and insulation to the roof while you have the headliner out. As Precise said I'm a machinist too and always over do it. It took me a month and a half to finally get the rack mounted up. Course I had to cut it up to make it fit so fitment took most of my time. James
  22. Mine does that too sometimes. I shift gears and give it some pedal and it starts accelerating, then it feels like the A/C compressor kicks on (even when the A/C is not on) and it stops accelerating and I have to give it more pedal to accelerate at the same rate. I have replaced everything as far as a tuneup goes even the O2 sensor. My snap on scanner says everything in the computer is ok. It doesn't always do it either. It drove me nuts at first now I just give it more gas. James
  23. A swedish mauser was my first hunting rifle. I kind of screwed it up for collector value though. I drilled and tapped the receiver for a scope mount and shortened up the stock and barrel. I could put bullets in the same hole at 100 yard with it. I finally shelved it for a weatherby 270, then put that one up for my AR15 in 243 WSSM. The 6.5x55 is basically the European rem 260. Now if you want a really accurate military rifle get your self a K31 swiss rubin. They shoot 7.5x55. The trigger is better than most off the shelf target triggers. I made a plug for my Mossberg 590 so I could hunt with it. I think it was like 11 inches long. Wasn't a rabbit in 30 yards that could get away from me! James
  24. Speaking of mph I still remember how excited I was when they raised the speed limit on I-10 from 55mph to 65mph! Wow I get to speed and it legal now! That was in 1986. James
