  1. Get some clamps like this you can find them anywhere, and just screw them to the frame.
  2. The timing is probably fine, it should advance when the revs go up. I would check for loose wires or connectors. Wiggle them and see what happens. I go to Montreal frequently so if you ever need a hand let me know.
  3. Use a heli coil so it will take the same bolt as was originally in there.
  4. We use inches for exhaust pipe up here too
  5. I would set the crank pulley so that it reads top dead center and pull the upper timing belt cover to see if the marks line up.
  6. I'm pretty sure they just used a dual in/single out muffler. They are fairly common. FWIW I used a Dynomax one on mine, can't even tell the difference from stock on the freeway but when you get on it you can hear it.
  7. Make sure to change that front main seal while you're in there. The only extra thing you'll have to do is pull the crank gear off which is easy with a screwdriver. The seal itself takes 2 minutes to change and costs like 5 bucks....Do the cam seals too.
  8. Discovered a burnt out brake light....I'll fix it later.
  9. How can "all" the cats be bad? Are you just getting catalyst codes? Honestly I don't think cats can "clog" unless something physically enters the exhaust or the engine overheats so much that the honeycomb stuff melts and restricts. People just use it as an excuse to remove them. I am not an expert but have been almost screwed over by mechanics before telling me this fairy tale.
  10. This is the stuff to use: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Marine/Home/Products/Catalog/?PC_Z7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECIE20S4K7000000_nid=Z777MMR7KSbeQH8HT14PGTgl I tried to do it myself once and I broke 3 in the JY before I just gave up. If you could find a used one already pulled that'd be easier. It was on a different vehicle though.
  11. I used that on the repair on my old truck and no matter how many coats I used it still leaked. Hell, you can even use self tapping screws if you don't' care what it looks like. Go to home depot and get some caulking its fairly cheap. The stuff for rain gutters and roof flashing works great. Or you can get actual autobody seam sealer. Its about 15 bucks for a pint of it.
  12. This is what I used to remove overspray on my truck...Worked great and was right there in the lawn mower haha.
  13. Never seen that happen before...Even on really rotted out frames here. I would just grind it down, weld a plate on, drill more holes and call it good.
  14. Mine is like that too. It happened when I was hammering s socket onto the stripped bolt.
  15. Riveting is fine but I think you should have used more on that drivers floor patch. Especially on the right side. And use some seam sealer or silicone to prevent water from coming in. Seal it from underneath and up top. Or else when it rains your truck will stink.
  16. If it is doing it over bumps you have something loose...How old are your struts? I remember when one of my dads went bad, it would wobble like hell when you hit bumps and pot holes.
  17. It's like that because the lines run on the passengers side, therefore the left rear is the furthest from the master cylinder.
  18. Definitely get a 1/2 inch ratchet, and a torque wrench if you can afford it. This isn't the place to fskc around lol. I bought like 4 feet worth of extensions from Princess auto for dirt cheap. You can probably use the stock jack to support the motor. To be honest I didn't even put a jack under the motor, woops. Make sure to either machine the flywheel or get a new one!!
  19. Here's what my valve cover looks like, this was when the trans was pulled... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/126488129/20131228_160452.jpg
  20. Sucks for the people who have the 15 gallon tank...I know I really like the extra range.
  21. Does sound like a bad sending unit. Sitting in gas for 20 years probably takes a toll on it lol. Both my gauges on my two pathfinders have always read a little low. Takes about 65-70 liters when the light comes on.
  22. He has a 95, so the cruise control is on the steering wheel. I'm betting your problem is the contact ring, you can take the wheel off and clean the contacts, that worked on my old pathy. But some people end up having to make spacers for theirs. For the starter I would check the connections at the battery, the starter, and check the ignition switch. If nothing else, then I would say you got a crappy reman starter. Happens a lot.
  23. I'd rather have my A/C lol. But pretty cool!
  24. If you are towing you should have the OD off, unless it is an extremely light trailer. This will prevent it from changing gears all the time.
