First of all, you don't need to remove the cam pulleys. That is only if you're replacing the cam seals. When you get the belt on there should be 40 teeth (on the belt) between the 2 white lines. All 3 pulleys, or cogs if you will have to move all at the same time or else the timing will go out and you might damage the engine! I also see that you used the sealer on the wp. Good job Some more experienced members will obviously be able to help you better than me but you have my # to txt if you need to ask something quick

Well they call for 5w30. But I switched mine to synthetic at 125k and it is now just hit 150k and it's running great. I'm running mobil 1 5w50 supersyn. If you have any minor oil leaks now, I wouldn't switch. But fix the leaks!

I wanna get my hands on a 95 cluster with the digital odo and trips and external temp (you pull on the clock thing to see it)

Shaved teeth on timing belt - possible causes?
adamzan replied to 92Pathy808's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Thats what I was implying. There is no point on spending money on it until its other "modifications" are complete. -

Then again there are the people who never replace any of those parts and go forever on the original equipment. For example my 93 has 337,000kms on it timing belt was never changed. I'm in no hurry to do it lol. There was a member here in Ottawa who had like 700k on his 91 he said he's never changed any of that stuff. I didn't chance it, my luck isn't that good -
Installation instructions for rear shocks?
adamzan replied to zayas's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I'm no fatty, I had never done it before, but it was no big deal to take the tires off, good opportunity to check the brakes and rotate the tires. -
Installation instructions for rear shocks?
adamzan replied to zayas's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
When I did them on my dads 2000, I jacked up the rear and put 2 jack stands on the rear axle. Then just installed the shocks and presto. -
03 Pathfinders have no transmission filter?
adamzan replied to findmypath's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I think it is 14 quarts for a good flush, I read that around here somewhere. I made sure they guys who flushed mine did that. So even the wd21 is just a screen? -
I think GG is right because afaik the bumpers from 87-92 are the same, then they put the more rounded bumpers from 93-95. I was working on an 88 that had been sitting for 3 years, and noticed the mounts were different. Damn those bolts were rusty.

I still remember what you said to me one day on messy slick... Too tight= Snap, Too Loose= Fly off -
Well, my dad has a 2000 pathfinder, with 115k on it and no problems, before that he had a 93 that we got 220k out of it before he gave it to me, it still runs fine. And now I have a 95 with 150k that runs mint and is in prime condition. Must have got a lemon, I know a few people around here with the 3.5L and no problems

These truck's aren't junk it's clearly obvious you just didn't maintain it. Better than any of the similar American models.

Is this Pathy on Craigslist for 800$ worth it?
adamzan replied to NaturaTek's topic in General Forums
Well on the 95, the 1-2 shifts are really rough unless you've been driving for an hour or so. -
Yup Easy there, although my father is one of those people and so is his wife. The napa gold lasted me 15k on mobil 1 5w50 synthetic. The oil came out nearly as clear as when it went in.....

$500 cash if you change my water pump/timing belt on my 90 pathy!
adamzan replied to NaturaTek's topic in General Forums
Umm No? Pezzy is like 5 hours away from me! My offer still stands! -
Yeah aftermarket parts suck. Stealer is the only place I go to now.

Strange I know a few people around here with wd21's some of them tow real heavy and oversized loads, and they're autotragics have been fine. I asked and some said, I just have the stock cooler. Meanwhile mine has an intermittent reverse issue and it's never towed I think if you just change the fluid like what the manual says, and you just drive normally, the trans will be fine. My 93 has 215k miles on it, original trans, stock cooler. Just changed the fluid ever 60,000 kms. It shifts smoother, faster, and reverse is fine. My 95 on the other hand had brown fluid when I got it, so I had it flushed and will probably have to do it again and have the filter changed to see if it fixes it. -
Well I guess any smoke is bad. anyways good luck man! I'm sure you'll find the prob, hope its something simple.
-
Isn't that blue smoke
-
And to add to that, Ive seen the wd21 lego rims on an r50
-
For the coolant, check this bypass hose, it is hard to get to though. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...&hl=coolant About the weird running, whats you're exhaust like? Mine did that, stalled when put in gear, barely idled, black smoke, turned out the 2 cat's were clogged, that also fixed my trans always shifting high. (truck had NO power)
-
I'm checking those out right now, would also allow the starter to not get covered in oil when a careless person changes the oil. I've not spilled in the last 2.
-
Uh oh, I changed it 3 weeks ago and didn't write down how many km's I had We have the exact same engine I believe, as I have a 93 and a 95 and they're both VG30E The only reason I use it is because I procrastinate so I change it every 5-10k and I don't get that annoying valve tap on startup in the winter anymore
-
What?!?!? It costs me 44.95 before taxes for a 4.4l jug of mobil 1 5w50 and I just use a regular napa filter or even a fram filter (usually the tough guard one) It's cheaper for me to drive down over the border to the us and pickup the oil, its 28.95 at advance auto parts, rather than 45 at canadian tire. I change it every 10k km's or 7k kms, depends on what time of year, and where I've been driving.
