  1. Yes it was the same size. My gas light comes on, and the truck took 65 liters before the pump shut off and I was able to squeeze 70 in there, just like before I changed the tank... I haven't got around to measuring mine, been busy. I'll do it tomorrow. 15 gallons would suck. That is terrible range.
  2. Must be something that happens in the heat down there, I've never seen that here.
  3. It says in the manual that it is ok to downshift like that "when engine braking would be advantageous", their words, not mine! I still never do it because why wear the tranny more than necessary when brakes are dirt cheap to change. Only time I do it is on steep trail descents in 4 low.
  4. I have my old 21 gallon tank that I just replaced, I can measure it if you want.
  5. I have seen it done before. It is quite the job, you need to press or hammer the bearings off and there is a lock nut that you can use a hammer and punch to loosen IIRC.
  6. 80mph wow there is your problem lol. I go like 70 max but the highest speed limit here is 100km/h which is around 62mph
  7. Yup, they do that pretty much every time I cross to go shopping even. But the guards at the one near me are complete assholes.
  8. It seems fine, it's been on my truck since I've owned it, and the previous owner was a member here. It has been on there at least 5 + years. The cheapest route, of course is to get a used one somewhere.
  9. Rockauto has glass replacement ones. I have a tyc brand one on mine and it is glass. Looks just like stock.
  10. That's the new york road rage in you flooring it everywhere
  11. Just watch out how high you raise the front end. Without the proper control arms it is hard to get the camber in spec. You wind up with your front tires like this \ / if you look at the truck from the front.
  12. After the headers, I built my own like nefarious. I went to crappy tire and bought cheap bends and welded them together. I still have the stock tailpipe but I haven't had time to finish it yet. I'm using a dynomax muffler. I actually find it fairly quiet. I thought it was going to be louder lol. Does sound like a v8 at idle though which is kinda sweet.
  13. You only need to replace the rods if they've worn through badly.
  14. Rockauto.com has new tanks pretty cheap. I recently bought one, no issues at all.
  15. The poor man's lift is jeep grand Cherokee coils in the rear, and cranking the torsion bars in the front. You can crank them up to a point without needing new control arms. The coils you can get at a junkyard or just buy new ones if you can't find any. A good set of 31" AT tires will probably be your best addition. I recommend the BFGoodrich all terrain.
  16. You could try welding a nut to it and see if it will turn out, if you have access to a welder. That has worked for me on a few things.
  17. Fwiw they are warrantied the same here. Good luck with the tank. I actually lucked out and my frame is mint back there.
  18. Take the rear bumper off, I did, made it a whole lot easier.
  19. In the past couple weeks I have replaced: CV axles 4 Shocks (rancho) rear brakes rear sway bar links and bushings gas tank front brake line spark plugs (twice, long story), cap, rotor, wires power steering hose and fluid 2 front tires some other things i am forgetting I also installed my pillar mounted gauge pod and wired in my trans temp and volt gauges. Still need to acquire a 3rd gauge. Still need to do: ARB Hella lights Skidplates - I have no idea how to install these, I bought them used. But those can wait till I get back from the fall colours run this weekend.
  20. Even the 96-2000 r50 manual tranny should swap in, as it is the same, and even has the filler plug in the right spot.
  21. ^ Just proves you don't always need a huge diesel pickup truck to tow everything like many people think.
  22. Yes, and I don't know. My old wd21 had a heated drivers seat, but not passenger.
  23. Which bolts broke? I only broke one but used and impact to slowly go at it. If thr rear bolts broke you could probably cut the captive nuts off and use regular nuts.
