  1. I'd say rotors. I thought maybe it was a balance issue but it only does it when your slowing down then it is in your rotors or close to them.
  2. I know, I wanna find out more about this too Tyler. I am debating on makinga small road trip this weekend or I might have to wait until one day next week and just go over there during work. It is sitting in a tiny parking lot behind what looks like some apartments. It is not too far from campus close to the corner of baseline and broadway heading west on baseline on the right hand side of the road. Granted I just got a quick glance but man I swear this thing was HUGE! I think it was rolled because there was a tarp on it and it looked a bit crushed but then again I did just get a glance. I already put my camera in my truck so I wont forget it next time.
  3. I went to Boulder on buisness today and headed down a road called baseline. Close to the intersection of baseline and broadway there was a vehicle under a tarp as it had been rolled. All I could tell was that is was lifted way high on like atleast 35 or even 38's I was passing by and quickly noticed in the mirrow that it looked like a rear hatch froma R50 but I was running behind so I could not turn around. ONce I was done on my way back I looked for it but I was with a salesman so I could not stop but i did glance and see the truck again and it is a R50 and it is freakin huge!! I am pissed I did not have my camera with me. I will bring my camera next weekand head over to boulder to purposely check it out. Tyler are you gonna be in Boulder anytime soon????
  4. Yet another peice of useful information. Thank you I will remember this next time I get stuck with one tire getting air.
  5. First off congrats on the purchase of the R50! Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. As far as you wanting to put 16" wheels on go ahead if that floats your boat. As far as your "shimmy" at higher speeds it sounds like the dreaded high speed shakes apperantly it was a common problem on these R50's. The problem turns out to be the rear control arm bushings. I guess they were engineered crappy and tend to wear out causing a high speed wobble or shimmy. There are some good write ups in here you should investigate, I believe there is even some pics showing exactly where the bushing are located so can get under your truck and find them and determine if they are bad or not. Keep us posted.
  6. Little bit of engine brite and a power washer and it can!!! I have seen a heep go muddin then take it to one of those self-wash dealies with the power washer, shoot that engine degreaser all over it then spray away!! It came out lookin almost new ( you might have to use a rag and actually wipe down some areas. I have never used a pwer washer I barely rinsed my engine once just with teh garden hose just to get the mud off and it almost did not start so I got a bit weiry of washing my engine. It is pretty dirty now.

    PS belt

One of my belts is squealing again!! It might be partly due to the fact that it has been really cold lately but not sure. Anyway I think my power steering belt might be loose. I am having a brain fart as whether it is just tightened by teh one bolt to teh driver side of the pulley. Do I need to loosen any thing else before tightening this bolt? I wanna say when I changed it I just tightend that one bolt but I can not remember whether it was like the other two and I had to loosen the pulley first. Thanks.
  8. Let us know what you find out!! I have this same problem, granted mine is a 97 but I try to wash and get like a drop or two of fluid.
  9. Dam sorry to hear about your engine exploding. Although it sounds like you knew it was coming.
  10. Jason, I am interested in buying that strut off of you. How much $$ do you want? Let me know then I can let you know when I can take it off your hands. Cash is tight these days as I am buying some new equipment for homebrewing. Once all of that stuff is bought then I can focus on buying lift parts again.
  11. I think he is running 32's dont quote me though.
  12. Yeah I can not beleive I have not even seen your rig around town yet. So now that your lift has been on awhile have you noticed anything significant like does it drive any different? Gas mileage ( i know you had to take a hit on mpg when you put on those 35's). The reason I ask is while the off-road test is truly important, I want to know how it holds up to city driving.
  13. I assume you mean that your drive belts are squealing. You do not have a serpentine belt instead you have three belts all pretty easy to change. If this is the case and you are not talking about your t-belt (which needs to be changed if you have not done it and your truck has over 100,000 miles on it) I would not worry about changing your idler arm pulley (drive belt tensioner so to speak) unless the bearings are going bad in one and that is what is causing your squealing.
  14. Thanks for the support Tyler. I have never dealt with spring compressors so having someone around who has might be a smart idea. Now to start saving and slowly buying the parts for the lift. Off topic but how is your truck holding up Tyler? I still have not seen it!
  15. That sounds like a plan Alex, Now where exactly are you located? I know in the past you have said you could swing out to Colorado for some wheelin. I kinda remmeber you saying something about you not being to far from Moab. Anyway Thanks again. As far as the lift goes. I will do the same kinda thing you did, probably start with the struts then shocks etc. Next dilemma is getting it installed. I kinda know my way around an engine enough to get by but when it comes to suspension I am flyin blind. I have never messed with coils or struts simply because of the potential for catastrophe. Heck by the time I get all this stuff together you might be ready for Tylers lift (if your still planning on getting it) Then you can just road-trip it out here for a serious mod-day. Keep me posted as to when you are going to get the valence. If you need cash first just let me know.
  16. :o The whole front valence as in the bottom plastic bumper was only around 20 bucks :o :o I am impressed!! In that case I do want one Alex. Let me know when your going to be around there or whatnot and I will get you cash in hand. Thanks for info about the lift stuff. Sounds reasonable although it will be a while before can get everything
  17. About how much total do you think you spend on your lift Alex? Do you have part numbers for that stuff? I may not be able to buy all of it at once but I can start saving and buying parts for the future
  18. Thanks for the info! I managed to kinda pop out the valence. I will be posting up some pics possibly tomorrow. It is still a bit ben out of shape so yeah I am interested in getting a new valence. The new one on your truck looks sweet. How much was it again?
  19. Sure you were not on some black ice? I had a similar thing happen the other day in wyoming, It was sunny out and it had not snowed for like a week and I went to take off and just spun but did not realize I was spinning so I was a bit freaked out until I turned the radio down!!!
  20. Make some of those bumpers and sell them for cash then you can afford your camber bolts and big-arse tires.
  21. Looks good Alex, That is exactly how I want my pathy to look. So please explain exactly what all do you have for lift? AC lift and kyb's along with procomp's is that all?
  22. I got it. And am happy to hear about the new web address.
  23. You guys are all right, I should probably wait for warmer weather but I am very impatient!! and I do need to fix the blinker as it is not working up front. It works in the rear but not the front, and it blinks really fast inside the cab now. If It is just too dam cold which it might be then I will wait a bit. I do kinda think it will just pop out as it really is just bent plastic. We will see. I might replace the valance anyway once it is warmer
