  1. didnt even notice that. It shouldnt be a problem once its all settled anyways.
  2. Yeah lol im confused. Whats wrong with them? they look perfect.
  3. idk.. the ATX14A is a very complex transfer case. Its almost like a mini automatic transmission. It has a valvebody and everything. I cant see exactly in the FSM that the main oil pump is driven off the front driveshaft. There is a sub oil pump that probably turns on when the main oil pump isnt working right. best way to tell if you have problems is take your drive flanges off and drive around and see if you get the warning light. then if it blinks see what the sequence is and look it up in the FSM and it'll tell you what the transfercase computer is freaking out about.
  4. Magnaflow. I love em. had it on my r50 now have one on my wd22.
  5. yeah i was able to do that on my r50 when i had it too.so i dont see what the big deal is making an oil change 10 minutes shorter lol.
  6. Ronin, just swap your tcase out for a part-time lol. I've actually be thinking about putting a qx4 knob/lever shift into my xterra because it has a lower 4low ratio then the tx10. IMO I dont know why the auto tcases have a pump. The fluid just gets sloshed up into everything in there. Only difference is that there is a motor that engages the 4x4 instead of a lever on the tcase but im probably wrong. I wanna look at the diagrams a little better when I get home.
  7. no just get a pipe tap and tap some fittings into the block and relo the filter that way. or get a piece of billet aluminum the shape of the oil filter adapter flange with some fittings that go to a relo'd filter. Theres a lot of different options.
  8. What ive done in the past is get (2) 5 gallon buckets, pour all the new fluid into one of them and get long lines when you disconnect the cooler lines. Have the input line go into the 5 gal bucket with all the new fluid and have the outlet go into the empty 5 gal bucket. When all of the fluid is out of the new 5 gal bucket then you know for sure you have 9-9.5 quarts of fluid in your trans. I think it actually takes 9 3/8s or something like that. I cant remember off the top of my head.
  9. Man thats rape. The night of the biggest blizzard in utah in the last 10 years (this past winter) I was helping pull people out of the snowbanks and helping with accidents and what not and not a single cop cared that I had my brights on, my bumper hella 500s on, all 4 of my roof rack hella 500 lights on and my rearward facing roof rack lights on. This went from about 3pm til about 1 am and not a single cop questioned me on it. I pretty much met the whole force too.. No one else seemed to care either. lol But it pretty much was whiteout for most of the time. Even during the summer I keep them uncovered because i hate how they look with the covers on.
  10. Depends on which stock wheels you have. Certain ones will not work.
  11. You cant mount a deflector on a hatch that didnt come with one from the factory unless its the window hinge mount (like what Qx4s have). cause the ones with factory deflectors have an extra support inside in which the deflector mounts to. plug the hinge mounts look better. I had one on mine off a qx4.
  12. Actually upgrade to an X and what oil company do you work for?
  13. No it was calmini that did a project r50 pathfinder with front coilovers and a front bumper.. they decided not to produce them though for some stupid reason...
  14. First year in moab with my r50 i had removed the wheel well plastic lining so the tire wouldnt rub. i drove through a river and my engine died. turns out all the water coming off the top of the tire went directly into the airbox and filled up the lower airbox suffacating the engine. So id rather have this happen then sucking water directly in. The actual tube for the box in front of the LF tire is as high as the top of the fender ircc.
  15. It depends on where you live.. Technically its not the same vehicle.. it just has the same name. In utah from what i remember, you can only swap an engine from a newer model vehicle with the same chassis. Meaning if i have a 96 pathy i can only put a VQ35 out of say an 04 pathy in there. Unless you just fake them out and say its a VQ35 and really its a VQ40.. lol
  16. I'm sure you can do it. You would need a divorced transfer case or figure out how to convert the tail end of the 350z trans to accept a transfercase.
  17. When I unplug my battery it resets my radio presets instantly.. I know my pathfinder i would have to keep the battery unplugged for another 20-30 minutes for it to reset the ecu. My xterra takes a very long time. Long enough to where i just use my code reader to reset it. You might just need to adjust the idle screw on the TB or maybe the IACV valve has been unplugged.
  18. Don't go in blind.. Get a mirror. Thats what I always do and I always get on it the first time instead of trying to play with it for 10 minutes.
  19. In that case just swap out the shock bushing sleves and make it ride right side up again and you're good to go.
  20. Have someone wiggle the steering wheel while you take a look at your steering components. That will give you a better idea of what to replace. Ive seen everything from bad inner/outer tie rods to a back rack, bad rack bushings.. it could be a lot of things. It could even be something like a bad strut or something with the front suspension.
  21. only problem you might possibly run into is that the rear shocks will be a different length. They changed the way the shocks mount in 99.
