  1. Having lower lo-gears makes a WORLD of difference! Ignoring the fact that my truck is SAS'd, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFicwWdw65M It would have been impossible to crawl that trail with the stock 2:1 gearing especially driving a manual trans even with the SAS.
  2. Thanks for linking to the Rugged Rocks forum! and i love my forum and everything but... Here is a better & more step-by-step writeup: http://crawlernews.com/2010/04/nissan-frontier-xterra-rear-disk-brake-conversion-2/
  3. Just a heads up, Eaton has H233B Detroits on the shelf ready to go, you can order them at http://ruggedrocks.com Feel free to give me a call or e-mail me if you have any questions.
  4. We need some guys with Nissan rigs like that to come wheel and been seen at the hammers in Johnson Valley!
  5. Good work man! It'd be nice to see some dyno numbers if you have a way to do that.
  6. Super Packing the H233B LSD: http://crawlernews.com/2010/04/super-packing-the-nissan-h233b-limited-slip-differential/
  7. The ones that are in the works are the (W)D21 31-spline ones. i'll be doing the 33-spline shafts after that for the Frontier/Xterra.
  8. If you get your driveshaft angles correct, you shouldn't have any vibrations. I wouldn't worry about the front driveshaft spinning. Even in 2WD it may spin a bit at highway speeds.
  9. I just might need another local test truck... i'll keep you in mind. i'm not 100% sure how many prototypes i'm getting It's not locked all the time. it's an automatic locker. you can go around corners etc but when one tires loses traction it locks up. ARB lockers are really really nice and right now until the 30th you get a free compressor with a locker purchase.
  10. Those guy are like 20 min from here. ha i guess pretty much everything is close here in so. cal. I've been in there a few times.
  11. Nice!! I'm not old enough to remember all of that first hand but i still do have an appreciation for it all. Bummer that it seems Nissans don't play in the dirt competitively has hard as they used to. Does anyone really know the full story to Nissan pulling back sponsorships in racing?
  12. I pushed the button, but the manufacture is backed up a ton right now. They will be here in about 12 weeks!
  13. so when you're "done", you're gonna wheel that thing with us in the states right?
  14. not that i know of. If someone is still making them please let me know.
  15. lol.. almost.. The link to sign up for the Rugged Rocks Newsletter is in my Sig. or you can fan Rugged Rocks on Facebook. Either way you will get the update. Nope. The 33-spline axles are longer. It hasn't happened yet..BUT We're very very close. I should have prototypes within the next 2 - 3 weeks. cutting parts for the prototypes has already begun at the manufacture. Once i get the prototypes, we're going to put them in a few trucks and head to big bear, CA beat them up and report back. We might even get some video and pictures. Stay Tuned!
  16. Thanks RedPath88! But looks like the link you posted got buggered up a bit. Here is the wheel spacer page i believe you were linking to: http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/wheel-spacers-c-645.html
