It’s been a long time coming, but we are finally here… NPORA Forums will soon be moving! Our new home will be at www.nissanpathfinders.net, which will finally bring the NPORA Website & Forum back together again. Not only will this help to better link the two, but it will also make browsing them easier since they will both be in a single place. We’ve been testing the forum on a new server for a while now and believe that it is ready for regular use. For the general user the forum is a mirror image of the original. Everything will look the same and your accounts will remain as they are now, the only real difference will be the web address you use to get to it. The move will happen the evening of Friday May 4th and we hope to have if completed by or before the end of Saturday May 5th (all times are Pacific Standard Time.) During the move you will find that this forum will be offline, with a message letting everyone know that it is being moved. Once completed and function is verified, the new forum will be activated and the message here will be changed to reflect. This site will remain for a currently undetermined amount of time in order to direct both existing and potential members to the new location. (it will likely be a couple months at least, we’ll gauge the need based on traffic) We ask that you update any basic links to this forum that you have on the web now if you can. “npora.ipbhost.com” should be changed to www.nissanpathfinders.net After the move, we will go into more detail about how to change a link that points to a specific thread on the forum. You may be asking why we are doing this. Aside from the above the main reason is hosting. Invision Power Services (IPS) has made some changes that make it impossible for many larger forums to remain on their servers. We are currently on their Lagacy hosting, a plan that is expensive when compared to other options, adding to that the servers that they use on the old plans are outdated and slow. IPS told use that we would have to move to a newer plan and one that cost even more. When we did not jump right in, they started enforcing strict usage limits on us. Who has not seen the “Account Limited” messages over the past couple months? Yeah, this is why that has been happening. We found what we believe to be a better option than what IPS was trying to force on us. As a result NPORA Forum is moving to a newer, higher tech system that can dynamically add resources as they are needed, in real time which should help limit slow downs. We should also experience less forum outages due to server related problems, because it will no longer reside on a single machine, but instead on a grid that instantly adjusts if a problem arises. In testing is has shown to be faster, and we hope that under normal use by all members, this will remain to be true. As with any major change there may be some things that come up after the move. As an example, member posted links that point to another page of the forum will been modified to point to the new location, however there may be some that will still point to the ipb site. In those cases we ask that you let a member of the Mod Team know so that we can manually correct them. And if you find anything else that does not appear to function as expected, let us know so we can look into and if needed, correct it. Overall we hope that this will make for a better experience for all of our nearly 7000 and counting members and set us to better serve the community going forward.

Add me to the Bosch list, it's what I have regularly ran on the Pathy for several years now.

A long time ago I took the measurements that I could work with and headed to the wrecking yard. And after checking a lot of different trucks I ended up walking out with one from an S10 Blazer. Ahortened it a little (might have narrowed it too, don't remember for sure now), laid it out, marked the roof, drilled and bolted it on (sealed the holes as I mounted it) and it's been there ever since. Works great. Later I mounted a Thule basket w/extension, made a custom light bar and added a full-sized spare (33x10.5 w/matching wheel) HiLift jack, and other occasional items.

So I suppose now would be a good time to ask if you got my email (sent 3/23), since I've not seen a reply saying that you have... and you keep reminding people to contact you. Soooo did you get mine?

This mornings forum outage was during the software upgrade from 3.1.4 to 3.3.0. Upgrade is complete. Thanks everyone for your patience. RedPath88

We will be performing another software update soon. There is no exact time for this, so the forum go offline at any time. Normally these updates do not take that long, baring any problems. So we expect the down time to be minimal. As always, in the event of a forum outage please look to the NPORA's Home site for more information. www.nissanpathfinders.net -RedPath88

Thanks! I've not been around as much, busy at work, kids have more going on (teenagers) and life in general. I pop in as often as I can, but don't always post. Check to make sure the board is still functioning, and pop in when someone text, emails or PM's me about something needing attention. But I am trying to get around more often and on a regular basis again

Dowser, count me in for 1 of the 2 or 3 gauge models, whatever the majority settles on here, I'm good with it I've got the brown or grey/brown... whatever they call it. Although I have dark grey pillar covers and the cross trim at the top of the windshield installed. I put them in for the tweeters (that I never actually hooked up) but still have the original parts. Funny thing is that no one has ever noticed it the color mismatch Guess I better start looking for a color sample... where are the color codes found?

I searched but couldn't find an answer

Yep... throw away the included bolts, buy new studs, lock washers and nuts before installing and be done with it Seems I've heard some say the small hex head bolts can be a problem too, but so far I've not personally seen or had that problem with Warns -

Attention Seattle/ Washington - Stolen Pathfinder!
RedPath88 replied to MadManMike's topic in General Forums
I friggin hate thieves! I'm in the So. Seattle are every weekday, and travel the freeways south of there, I will be on the look out for you. Can you show us or at least explain anything that is unique to your truck... a dent, of paint fading, sticker etc...anything that will stand out ? Is that an NPORA sticker in the back window? -
Moving this to the Garage Section where more people are likely to see it
-
No need to cross-post throughout the forum. For questions that are not specific to an exact year range like this one, the best place to post would be in the garage, where more people will see it *Locked Thread*

A quick search relates it to a Chapman lock. Which if I understand it right, locks the hood down and/or disables the ignition system. Try tracing it out to see what it is connected to?

As the title implies we have made a few changes. Please take a minute to welcome our newest Moderators: nunya & Simon nunya's been around here for a while now and has willingly handled (within his former limits) TOTM, when Tex could not. Something that has been greatly appreciated. With his new status, he'll be much more capable to do that, in addition to addressing needs throughout the forum. Simon has been here from the very beginning, longer than any current and active member of the NPORA staff. Given that he is also an Admin on another forum, he undoubtedly has the ability and experience to handle the NPORA's needs. --- --- --- --- In addition to Simon and nunya accepting the new positions, we have two long time staff members who have chosen to step down. The did so voluntarily since they just do not have the time to devote too the forum at this time. We would like to thank both Mookie and 88pathoffroad for all that they have contributed in the past, too help make NPORA what it is today. With these changes, we are also going to be creating a new member group and moving former staff members into it, to recognize and thank them for contributing to NPORA.

Guessing that was in rdsponce to me? Actually I'm not worried about the way it works. When I first got the truck the R12 level was low... but I did not really care. Then I ran across a conversion kit for next to nothing on a clearance shelf, so I gave it a shot. Had the balance evac'ed and "converted" and refiled myself. Needed for SW WA? Nope not at all, but when I am sitting on the I5 corridor through the Sea/Tac area in the middle of the summer, waiting for someone, anyone, up ahead to start moving... it's nice to have
-
Mine has been making noise (little different than yours) for several years now. At first I was worried about it but did not have the time and extra money to throw at it. Before I knew it, it was a year or two later and at that point was figured I'd just let it go, if it blows then I would worry about. That was a couple years ago, and other than being louder, it still works
-
Several familiar trucks appear there, such as THIS ONE (fourth pic down, post 254) Several of 88's pics are on pg10

This might help some

I'll try and get to it next year soon

Possibly a month to late I got rid of an '87 parts truck I had. I don't know for sure what the month was, but I do know it was in the first half of the year... but it's gone so none of that really matters now There are Nissan Only wrecking yards (such as Feltons Auto Parts) who should be able to help you out, if they don't have one they may be able to track one down. And given that they specialize, they should be knowledgeable enough to know what you really need. That said, can later heads be machined to fit the block properly (if your facing a rebuild anyway) or are the bolts/galleys/jackets/etc alignment different?
