  1. Looks good, I like the lower profile than post have. *Hate seeing baskets 4"+ off the roof... But I guess sometimes it cannot be helped
  2. WOW, now that is a GOOD frend, willing to make a bunch of baby bushings!
  3. No not myself, but in the US we have access to companies that produce just about any bearing you could need. Both sealed (several ways) and unsealed. A quality ball bearing would allow for smoother operation and likely give a much longer wear life. Perhaps you have access to a company that can provide a suitable replacement? Cost may be an issue though... but compared to the 6 months that your repllacement lasted.. maybe some additional cost is worth it
  4. What about a ball bearing replacement
  5. Have you looked into replacing the bushings with bearings? Just an idea
  6. I have put over 1000lbs of scrap cable inside mine (stock springs) $$$
  7. Great! Although they should be perfect a "little" I guess is not too bad. Given these trucks ages now, everything is a "little" off now I'll agree that so far the customer service has been great from RC. The same goes for Superlift, as they are the ones I have dealt with for the majority of this.
  8. Ok, well I checked my FSM (1989) and then compared it to the 1995 FSM PDF. They are a "little" different but not much. However, since you truck is a four door and only one year off of the 1995 manual I took these tables from the '95 FSM If you would like the numbers for an '89, let me know. On a side note, if you look at the bottom of the second image you will find the specs for how the front end should sit This is something I have wanted for a long time and here it is, in the FSM
  9. Yes the info is in the FSM and the Camber is also adjustable using shims... I'll see if I can get some quality scans of these pages for you.
  10. As far as I know the camber is non-adjustable on our trucks... though you might be able to use shims (I will have to look at my truck when I go out to the garage to get my FSM after I post this) Driveway Alignment Written by Garbacho Posted by Desert Lady
  11. I'll check my FSM. I would imagine that information is in there... it seems like Aaron said not to long ago that he eyeballs (adjusts) his alignment in the driveway because it would cost to much to have an alignment done every couple of weeks. There is also a write up on another board... it's a How-To for Nissan truck alignments done at home. I'll see if I can find it
  12. Here is a link that should help explain wheel alignment Wheel Alignment - A Short Course
  13. Trucks that have large tires, are used off-road and especially driven off-road with big tire are often knocked out of alignment. That maybe the reason you are noticing the increased Toe-In
  14. V6 is right, if the T-Bars are cranked to far it may have thrown the camber off... this is something that replacement UCA's should address... at least eh better ones He is also on target with the toe, it should not be obvious that they are pointed at each other. When was the last time you had an alignment?
  15. There are three angles in regard to tires/suspension.. 1 Toe this adjustment will provide either Toe-In (fronts of the tires point inward) or toe-Out (the fronts point outward) Toe effects the vehicles tracking - helps drive straight. Excessive Toe (+ or -) will increase overall tire wear and cause uneven wear patterns 2 Camber This will be either Positive or Negative. Camber determines the amount of lean the tires have. The tops of the tires will either lean in (-) or out (+) Camber effects the cars ability to corner at speed, Negative Camber helps keep more tread on the ground on the outside tires while cornering. Like with Toe, to much Camber (+ or -) will increase overall tire wear and cause uneven wear patterns. 3 Caster This is more a steering related angle than tire related.. it is the angle at which the steering angle operates. Caster changes the effectiveness of the steering system and also the tracking of the vehicle. It also effects how well a car will re-center itself. Caster does not have much effect on overall tire wear. It is normal for vehicles to have Toe-In and Negative Camber... however most (if not all) 4x4 have no or very little Camber and it is not normally adjustable. If they lean in or out, it's time to look for worn or damaged parts (i.e. Wheel bearings or trunnion bearings on a solid Axle)
  16. With a rig like that I think you would be hard pressed to find some one who did not, like it Your hard work shows and the pride you have in it is well warranted. The fact that you don't really want to get rid of her is 100% understandable... but that is something mailmen just do not seem to get... mine sure don't The idea of a book or a series of How-To's is a great idea, we are actually trying to develop a library of How-To's to help us all and to further promote Pathfinder modifications and off-roading as a whole I hope you can and are willing to stick around for a long time to come... questions may not flow fast, but I have a feeling you might be bale to provide helpfull advice on many things. Later
  17. Very nice truck I sent him an email inviting him to join the forums... sounds like he may have much to offer and based on his reply's to questions, he may be willing to offer up some of that
  18. Not as "unbelievable" as you might think B... A week or two ago there was a man busted by law enforcement for stealing and reselling vehicles and running an illegal towing and wrecking company... just a few miles from here in Spanaway, WA. He would pull his tow truck up to illegally parked vehicles, hook up and drive off. It was a tow truck and the car/truck was not properly parked so no one ever questioned it. He would then file the title as an abandoned vehicle, claim legal ownership and resell them. I did not think about it before your post, but "maybe" that happened.. I think a VIN # check may be in order... will suggest that to the owner who it was stolen from
  19. BUMP I was just reading the progression/write up of it's construction
  20. Actually NAPA can get them without trouble.
  21. I think that would be "nevermind". At least, that was my first impression of it.
  22. Many would be interested in that one... lots of people have talked about frame replacement. A How-To on body removal would help people greatly
  23. Yeah V6, that is the generic Body lift image that PA uses for all of their kits
  24. Jay, that is the exact same body lift that you linked to in your prior post - Any good?, let me know Performance Accessories and Trailmaster are the only two Body lifts available for Pathy's. People here have used both and had success with them (I have a 2in PA kit in my closet.) They have some problems but if you search around you will find the cures for them Maybe you missed it, but the link above has the info your looking for
