  1. Man, someone please correct me if I missed the boat on this one, but I SWEAR I remember being told by AC (like 8 years ago) that the Rancho 9000XL's I bought from them (for an arm/leg) were originally for a 1998-2003 Dodge Durango. The specs SilverPath posted sound close to what I had but I think his must extend much more than my Rancho's did - I thought mine only extended to like 25" or there abouts. Sorry I can't remember more, just trying to help...
  2. I've done this twice myself (please read = that this is pretty easy to do) using a C-Clamp almost identical to the one you've linked to - it's pretty straight forward once you get in there. Good luck!
  3. Just be careful with 32's clearing the strut. I would have had to go with wheel spacers to clear them - yes, actually had 32's test fit before purchasing my 31's.
  4. I'm pretty sure you can install the manual hubs regardless, just may have to be a little careful not to twist the dial to "Auto" (or beyond) when hubs are not engaged. Just a thought.
  5. Maybe he didn't want to have to regear...cause that would be just too much?
  6. Nevermind...just saw that this was posted earlier. I'm a loser...
  7. But Smart Cars are gaining some aftermarket support for slight modifications...
  8. I think 96Pathy and I have similar lifts/tire size/builds. I have some photos in my profile of my 2" AC on 31's and then the 2"AC + 4" SFD and 33's. Just an FYI that I decided to go with Jeep WJ springs (6.5" lift cut down to size) and some lower coil seat adapters (from Krypton Fabs) instead of keeping my rear 2" lift springs from AC and installing spacers.
  9. Those look like a smokin deal. I was actually thinking about sourcing just the O rings for future replacement. I just contacted them today by email to see if they are available individually. I've found similar spec'd O rings at local hardware stores, but nothing exactly the same.
  10. Just an FYI that I love my 2 off-road gas cans. What's cool are the different sizes/capacities and colors. They also pour quite easily with the flex nozzle and rear breather: Off-road Gas Can I have no stock in this product, just really like them and suggest them to those I know might be looking.
  11. Sorry if this was already posted, but I can't always see pics. In fact, I think I found these photos on NPORA. No matter...good times:
  12. Thread-jack On Thanks for that info, I figured everyone must be dealing with this issue so I never brought it up. It does NOT disable. I've been in 4Lo in snow/ice and it pulses as I apply the brakes. Me thinks it's beyond my limited "fixin" capabilities to diagnose and repair, but I'd rather fix than try a work-around. Thread-jack Off
  13. I've noticed since going to 33's that the pulse seems too slow to be effective anymore. I'm sure there is someone on here smarter than me who can explain why that has happened - like reduced wheel rpm with increased diameter and such...or maybe it's just in my mind. My real wish? I'd like a switch-mod to temporarily disable my ABS while wheeling. It's mostly annoying to me, but at times it can be downright frightening - like when I'm completely nose down in Moab trying to inch my way to a soft landing (so as not to "endo") and it decides to pulse for the final 2 feet drop into a rough touchdown. Sometimes I'd rather just slide smoothly than pulse. Any ways, just my thoughts.
  14. Have you checked in to the possibility of using these? Rugged Rocks - Gears I'm close to being in the same boat as you (my LSD is practically useless and I'm quite under-geared for my tires), so I'll be watching this thread (and I will PM you if I ever get off my duff and do something this winter).
  15. Ha! You crack me up. Thanks a lot. You better let me know next time you head out this way again so we can hit some trails - meet you in Moab or the San Juans. Not sure about all the parts (forgot the list he had). I remember him saying the accident wasn't crazy bad, but insurance had deemed it "totaled" (which I totally understand with vehicles of our age taking a good lick in an accident, but is sad none-the-less). I talked to him a couple months back and he still had some random items (like a Hi-Lift and shovel or axe attachment to the Yakima rack and I think some other odds/ends). Really nice guy to deal with. Any way, the ARB is stout, I can definitely give it that. I've winched off it 3 times and the thing doesn't even flinch (I've seen other bumpers "give" a little under full load especially when yanking at a significant angle).
  16. I hate loosing any flex, so I wouldn't like adding to the bump stops on mine, but I definitely understand the rubbing issues - my tires have "repositioned" my rear flares over the past few years. Would you have to get longer bolts if you add the puck/spacer to the stops?
  17. Well, you definitely won't be the first with WJ rear coils. I'm on my second set, but yeah, they can work with a little customization (modified seat/adapter). Something like this? I think the estimated lift heights aren't all correct and I'm sure the prices aren't the same (I did this over 3 years ago):
  18. Yeah, with my bumper flapping at highway speeds I did the 01silvapathy bumper "mod" for a while. I REALLY liked the approach angle and the ease with which I could mount my lights: But then, with COPathy's bad luck (totaled his R50 recently), I was able to purchase his ARB: I've never like the ARB bumper (for several reasons), but it was really hard to pass up on a bolt-on bumper with all the "fixins". I still think the modified XJ, custom build, or custom fab yourself are the best ways to go for real off-roading with this beast. And I'm mostly talking about having one less bulky with better angles. I'm still a bit disappointed my design/build plans with a fabricator here in Colorado didn't go through (because I bought this ARB), but I hate to look a gift-horse in the mouth, ya know.
  19. Sorry, lurking... Darek, so is your leak from the output shaft and not between the "middle" and "rear" parts of the case? Sorry if I missed that. I'll be happy for you if it's as simple as described! Not trying to thread-jack, just trying to learn something.
  20. I may be in a similar situation, so I'm watching this thread. I was in some really slick snow/ice and watched both drivers front/rear tires spin while all my friends laughed at both passenger tires sit completely motionless. One of those situations that I thought was impossible with a my setup. ??? Anyways, weighing my options right now. If I open up my diff, I might convince myself to actually re-gear (of course front/rear). I know = crazy talk unless I make it happen. Anyways, watching this cause I know close to nothing about how to fix this issue.
  21. Probably neither, I had to click on the picture to open another window and then enlarge it from there.
  22. I agree with all said (especially Karmann) - hope you're OK. Anyone else see the bumper sticker on that tow truck?!?! That cracked me up! "Is there life after death?" "Touch my truck and find out"
  23. My struts probably squeak...but I can't hear them over all the other squeaks my rig makes now.
