tested mine today, they don't CLUNK, infact, when i engaged it I thought I just ran over a stick, its more of that kind of sound, like breaking a twig, both front and reverse mine did it immediately, not after a few revos

I got the autos, and I wheel pretty dang hard.....I don't take it easy by ANY means.... I know I get power to my front wheels, (dunno after this last trip!) but I don't hear a clunk...maybe they are stuck locked, who knows! Unless i know for sure i break one, I won't be replacing them with manuals until I do, mostly cause I kinda don't want to have to jump out and lock em every time I gotta throw it in 4...but the warn manual locking hubs are kinda affordable, and probably what I would replace em with...

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be....as long as its made for your model/year and its a class III, it should be just fine

take it to an upholstery shop, but I think the only decent looking repair for a rip in leather, would be replacement....

I just grabbed a 4x4 parts brace, and it feels pretty beefy...although im not too worried about it...if i ruin an arm, just slap a new one on!

the TM lift is so useless...i mean, I'd much rather have possibly worse CV angles, than run the risk of snapping a T-bar on a rock......

Or throw a jack stand in the tool box, and get the wheel strap :-) Or do what someone else said too, and stack some stuff underneath it, i.e. logs, rocks dirt.... Idk where if you guys have tow hooks, but Ive seen a few hilifts with a shackle on the lifting part, you could put the shackle around a tow hook..

Lol, I mostly dislike how sensitive unibodies are...they rely on the doors and such for support against warping O_O....your basically in an egg going over a pile of rocks..... Hmm......i need a better nickname than OSR...that sounds like an std......

Im really not a fan of the body style of newer pathies, I could live with a 96-99 body style, but in the end, if I'm going to buy a new vehicle, my pathy will have to be out of service, and I will want something 2000 or newer, and I don't like the 2000+ pathies, the body style went pure luxury.....Ive driven quite a few xterras for some people (they don't know how to drive a stick....need minor maintenance.....don't trust themselves to get it through something on the farm in order to get it to the garage...need it transported) and I kidna like the way they drive, it doesn't seem so bulky like alot of newer cars do..it kept the 'open air' feel of the older cars, thinner A pillars and such.....still rather simplistic interior design.... Idk, just my personal preff.....I don't like unibodies in general, it just kinda worries me when I don't have a full frame, reminds me of driving a car thats airborne... On another note, I think I shouldn't have named myself with such a name, it seems hard for people to quote, i.e. OldSlowReliable said... versus something like Mik said....hmmm, something to ponder O_O

looks are all about the sidewall and the lugs/grooves right outside of the tread...

They didn't check mine when I had my oil changed, and I had a bottle of brake fluid sittin around, and a new small bottle is only like a buck or two @ walmart.....Pretty easy to do, and keeps me from havin to worry bout it...

Personally, Ive thought about the pathy replacement for a long time now..... Really, since I plan on doing offroad for a little in the future, I probably won't upgrade to a newer pathy (and ma's version of upgrade isn't a wd21) so i'll probably be going with an xterra...they kept the frame/body setup...and theres lots of parts out there for them..... The only other option I would really replace my wd21 with, is a frontier or titan.....but I personally dislike unibodies in general...

Really, If they are just giving you the cash back to you anyways, whats the point? I mean, they will be getting 3500 in credit, then giving you 3500? then you could hypothetically go buy another pathy for 3500....why not save the trouble and keep what you know works...... Or, go buy some junker for 500 bucks or so, have em trade that in, and make 3k! Personally, The only reason I would do it, is if i KNEW my pathy was about to burn.....and I would grab a bunch of stuff off it before it left for pathy v2!

Well, if the 87 owner emails me back with a response to when I can come get parts off his truck....I think i'll grab the section of the cableing, and try to get some sort of clamp that i can pinch two wires together in...kind of like one of those nifty splice connectors.... gah i hate rust

If I understand the process correctly, the aftermarket cooler adds a small radiator in front of the stock radiator, as it usually siphons off the main radiator which is prone to clogging... So this process just puts it on its own system... Personally, when I have my timing belt and such done in 20k miles, I'll probably have them put in the aftermarket cooler, and the filter relocation kit.....just to make my life easier, unless it dies before then!

Yeah, i replaced three of the four on mine a few years back (PO didn't, and the hatch would fall on me as a kid...not fun) If you have a wd21, I can get you the part #'s but the rear WINDOW, they riveted in the one end, so you gotta drill out the rivet to be able to put a new strut on....atleast thats how i did it for one of them :\
