  1. So I was driving home earlier, and it felt rather odd at times, didn't quite SOUND the right way after I washed the engine, sounded quieter and smoother than it usually does, so i just went with it. But when I had to slow down and stop at some signs and lights, it was making an odd sound when making sharp turns at lock, sounded like a wheel was rubbing on something, but it was pretty fierce. Then, I get home and while putting it into P, i pause in N and i can kinda feel a rumbling, really soft, barely noticable, but it goes from nice and soft in D, but then in N it feels like something is consistently rattling, and when its in R it is VERY noticable, but not in P or D...... Kinda has me worried, the sound it makes is similar to if you put a rubber hose up against a fan, and mind you this is all while stopped with my foot on the brakes. I searched but couldn't find anything that sounded like this scenario.....
  2. Really, the only issue i ever experience with my 3" BL pathy, is low ground clearance, and lack of highway tires cleaning themselves! But I can honestly say I do pretty dang good in mud, amazing in sand, and about average on tippy high clearance trails (I shave the tops RIGHT off those hills!)
  3. Well, I think I know what your talking bout due to your explanation of the jeep....I have a small window right near the AC radiator thing, its on the top hard line, dunno if this helps or not, but thats the way it is on my 91
  4. I think those windshield things are for a sun shade, maybe something clipped onto them at one time, to block out sun
  5. GET IT DONE ALREADY!!! I wanna see how easy you do your cooler! So far so good, now just time it right
  6. I have a school that does "free lab" and apparently a school system a few miles away does payed work rentouts all summer, and I always thought it would be cool.... They have a locked tool room with a student assigned as a clerk, who signs out tools and such..Luckily they have 5 bays all with hoists, an alignment machine, tire mounting/balancing machines, diagnostic machines, air, air tools, MIG and TIG, Oxy-ace, and pretty much anything you need......... Its pretty neat, but it can get rather hectic, with tool shortages, missing equipment, lack of knowledge on usage of equipment...... If there was one in my area with all that stuff I said, I would no doubt buy a membership or something, but you see if you charge like 20 per hour, and someone has a 10 hour job, thats 200 bucks plus tool rentals and all that junk, (and if they must bring tools, you have the issue of stealing) but say, if it was 10 hours for 50 bucks or 75 bucks, plus a 100 dollar safety deposit for lost tools or broken stuff, and you had all the stuff they need, it would be a smash hit. I would definately go to it for my SL and stuff purely for the impact wrenches, hoist, and other specialty tools
  7. for an upgraded one, check out www.grassroots4x4.com
  8. Sounds to me like its not a bad alt, as he said it charged just fine after driving some, but wouldn't crank up later on. IMO you either have an electric "leech", or your battery isn't holding a charge. I believe walmart does free battery testing?
  9. they squeek. Other than that, I don't think there are alot of complaints with em, but if you run a bigger shock with them, they WILL damage the shock. You can get those minus the ball joints for under 250 if you order a d21 pickup lift kit from rough country through a private distributor, and that comes with 4 new shocks
  10. You know, if you go through with that.....you are gonna have about a bajillion michigander NPORA guys dropping our trucks off so we can just sit on our lazy butts! lawl What exactly was WRONG with your TRE's? How did you stop it from happening again?
  11. You wouldn't get more than 500 bucks outta it. UNLESS you were to trade it in for a new vehicle using the cash for clunkers....but if you have the space, i'd say keep it, go grab a non-rusted one with a blown motor, and swap!
  12. I should also add, that if you CAN, get an electric screwdriver type thing, small enough to fit in tight spots, with socket attachments, this would make things like the BL when you got alot of 10mm bolts to take out/put in/take out/put in, much easier... I found that having a pair of loose junk jeans, a heavy carhart or similar thick work coat, welding or heavy gloves, and a full face shield helps TONS when having to use the grinder in tight areas....I woulda been mangled having that grinder in the spots I had to use it...
  13. post a side view, post the height of your fender flare from ground to center, post a picture of the front, so we can see the under the front end kinda..... That should be able to tell if its bl, sl, or both!
  14. see, me thinks you should invest in a CL, then a week later go and SAS it, and sell the centerlink for $10 on www.oldslowreliable.com (don't click, for all i know it could be something VERY bad!) Hehe, really, if your planning on SAS'ing it, i wouldn't invest in a CL unless your trying to help those of use who are too cheap to buy one out!
  15. I actually have a 'frame repair' shop down the road from me, always figured that's where i'd take the pathy for frame rot.....maybe check for one of those?
  16. how does it suck? Don't forget to check for rust under the rear seats and the frame in the rear wheel wells!
  17. I'd say go for the SAS right now.....if you have what it takes, and the stuff to do it, go for it!
  18. Forgot to add- BUY A BIGGER FLOOR JACK!!!!!!!! I hate myself for not buying a better trolly/floor jack, I got one for 35 bucks with 2 jackstands, and the stands are great, but the jack can't even reach my frame, and if I say, put it under the pumpkin, I need a 3' metal pole to use it, cause it came with a 1.5' handle that can't get the leverage on it.....
  19. ooh, very nice! I couldn't agree more with everything you listed.....A few of those are stuff I've been on the fence about buying, i.e. creeper, chair, tool cart, gloves, lighting... Some more stuff- Cardboard boxes- Good for anything really, catching spills, pizza boxes make great creepers, knee cushions, etc Cinder Blocks- Cheap, get a few, I use these to sit on sometimes, and other times to extend my jack stands and jack... Welder- I really wish I still had one, even if you can just get a 110v 90amp mig from harbor freight, I can think of a few times that using one would be very helpful, and its always good to learn a new trade! Metric Sets- There were a few times that I wish I had 1/2" drive metrics.....ended up having to use a special open end ratchet set for some stuff cause I also had to use my 3/8" at the same time with it's metrics PIPE!!!- It is REALLY helpful to have a 1' and 2' piece of metal pipe to fit over a ratchet or such, to help break those bolts loose, or a breaker bar PB Blaster!- Rust eater Shop Towels- Help to clean junk up, can get at lowes for pretty darn cheap, maybe 10 bucks a box? these really are priceless, I used them to mask off the entire back of my pathy in lack of newspaper when I repainted my tire carrier.....
  20. My brother in law's little 5 speed economy car has that, and every time he parks here, I can hear his radio go 'beep beep beep' I would never wish that on anyone. Ever.
  21. I have a kenwood in my malibu, and if I sell that it will go in the pathy, it works pretty dang good, and works AMAZING with my ipod. I got the one with the USB input too which is nice, and if i recall, i got it for 150, and 60 for install (which now i know i could do)
  22. for black having so many votes, i sure don't see alot of black pathy's round hur :S
